One I didn't realize that you could actually go into the attached wine shop and get a glass of wine and drink it while touring until I was almost done. The staff members did make me aware but at that point I was most of the way done touring. Or so I thought. Next I didn't realize or recall that they had a downstairs gallery space. Initially I assumed it was going to be small with not much there as is the case with many galleries but there are various rooms to meander down there as well. I was told they were also hosting an artist event the following day as well with music and wine available. So weather you drive by or walk from downtown Douglas (just 2-3 blocks away) it's a excellent way to spend some time meandering around.

We were charging while…read moreeating across the way at royal provisions, charging finished about 20 mins before we left so we tried to find another space to park but since there wasn't one ended up back in the same spot since there were other charging spots available (both fast and level 2). When leaving the owner blocked us in with his SUV and then proceeded to get out and yell at us for parking there when not charging. When we tried to explain the situation he did not seem to care saying other people needed to charge (even though we pointed out there were two open spots).

My husband and I love this place…read more Things to know: 1. It is NOT in fact going out of business. 2. The paintings may or may not be original, but they look nice and come framed. So, if you can't drop thousands of dollars at some of the other art galleries, but want something nice to hang on your walls, this is the place for you. Chanced upon the Jeff Blandford Gallery this past week. Jeff was there and more than happy to…read morediscuss his work. He has started exploring making pieces with local sand. Using sand from the Saugatuck area he has fashioned a number of shapes. The truly interesting thing about the process is the unique greenish color that is created by the sand. Currently the pieces are between 4-7 inches high. I'm looking forward to my next visit to see how he expands his exploration of sand from different geographies. I was initially drawn into the gallery by the bright, modern ceramic pieces which I gather was Jeff's original artistic pursuit. These vary in size probably 6-18 inches. Truly enjoyed speaking with the artist and being exposed to his enthusiasm for his new endeavor. Make sure you make time for this stop.

The artist/owner was there and he told us about some of his pieces, including these really cool vases that were inspired by fireflies - you can use a laser light to make patterns on them that glow for a second in the dark. It was so unique and unlike anything I'd ever seen before! He also makes glow in the dark glass pieces which were very interesting. He uses a lot of bold colors that I was drawn to. I didn't happen to notice any pricing because I wasn't really looking to buy anything, but he was so friendly and kind that I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in town next!

We are from Cincinnati oh and he had one from there portraying all the great and big names things from the area. We purchased two pieces of art, one portraying our hometown which is currently being framed and shipped since we are back home and one of Chicago which we also love. The art is fairly priced and in great detail. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The frame work is also great with matching matting and different selection of frames. You can also buy Unframed pieces. This place is definitely worth the look if you are in the area.
