We wanted a sweatshirt to commemorate it and went to every single store in town. Just go here. Do not waste your time with the tourist trap heat transfer garbage. The owner exemplifies everything I love about this village. He's witty, sassy, creative and kind. Yes. This is not a 5 minute and done operation. But what you leave with is not just a t-shirt or a sweatshirt but a little work of art made for you while you wait. His pricing is also less than anywhere else we saw. I loved talking to him and watching him work. When we come back here next year for our 1 year anniversary- we're coming back here.

We were very excited to find this shop that offered unique, silk screened…read more t-shirts/sweatshirts and would have bought multiple pieces. My wife was looking at a specific t-shirt and the owner asked if she would like to try it on. It turned out to not be a good fit so she tried the next size. The owner made a comment that there was a maximum of two "try ons" and we thought he was joking. We were the only ones in the store. When she found a different style shirt and wanted to try it on, he wouldn't let her. He said, "at these prices I'm not here to be your concierge." I would maybe understand if it was a busy day during the summer but it was a Tue AM at the end of Sept and we were the only two people in the store. He was far more concerned with how the shirts were placed on the hanger than making a sale. And that's where they'll stay - on the hanger. It was extremely disappointing because he is a talented artist. He just has no aptitude for customer service.

My wife and I recently visited Jensen Jewelers to purchase an upgrade to her original wedding ring…read moreand band. My wife visited alone the first time to get an idea for what options were available, and get some pricing information. My wife came home with tons of information, and was very impressed with the level of service that she received during the 60+ minutes that she was in the store. The sales person she was dealing with, Jerene, was super helpful, and even communicated promptly through email many times to answer questions my wife had. When she had narrowed down her selection we visited Jensen's together, and talked with Jerene for probably an hour. We talked about how we could incorporate parts of her current ring into the new ring. She discussed stone options, and never tried to push us outside of the budget we had given her to work in. It isn't very often that you go to an establishment these days, where the sales people are looking to do what is best for the customer, and not what is best for their wallets. Jerene was wonderful in making sure that we got the ring that was exactly what we wanted. An amazing experience, thanks to the wonderful service we received during our visits.

Found RIT Music while I was next door at New Holland Brewery sampling every flavor of Dragons Milk (yes, you should do this, too)... ANYWAY- RIT Music is pretty cool! some good deals on the guitar wall, they had a decent selection of pedals, some drums that seemed like a pretty good deal (up on a high shelf, didn't get a close look). The skate shop side was great, thirteen year old me would have lost his mind. Staff was friendly and welcoming. One guy was quiet, but he was cool- sometimes I'm quiet too, you can chill until you want to join the conversation, quiet guy- it's cool! the other two guys were hyper friendly fun people. We talked about pedals and Coheed and Cambria and had a great time. I bought some strings I don't need quite yet and a candle that smells surprisingly good, but I'm going to save up for next time I'm up there so I can grab a pedal (or something better!) because those guys were great. Definitely going back to Holland, and definitely going back to RIT Music!

But...things have changed for the better! My last few times in the store the staff was handing me guitars, picks, a tuner... They have been very accommodating! Once I decided on what guitar I wanted and paid for, I left it for Randy to set up. The Set Up was awesome. You know they care! Yesterday I was shopping effects pedals. The staff suggested different pedals and connected all of them to an amp and guitar for me to sample. It was great! I actually purchased a pedal the staff recommended, based on the sound I was seeking. As a self-taught (internet) guitar player, it is nice to enter a music store and have fun and enlightening conversations about music. Thank you!
