Using sand from the Saugatuck area he has fashioned a number of shapes. The truly interesting thing about the process is the unique greenish color that is created by the sand. Currently the pieces are between 4-7 inches high. I'm looking forward to my next visit to see how he expands his exploration of sand from different geographies. I was initially drawn into the gallery by the bright, modern ceramic pieces which I gather was Jeff's original artistic pursuit. These vary in size probably 6-18 inches. Truly enjoyed speaking with the artist and being exposed to his enthusiasm for his new endeavor. Make sure you make time for this stop.

The artist/owner was there and he told us about some of his pieces, including these really cool vases that were inspired by fireflies - you can use a laser light to make patterns on them that glow for a second in the dark. It was so unique and unlike anything I'd ever seen before! He also makes glow in the dark glass pieces which were very interesting. He uses a lot of bold colors that I was drawn to. I didn't happen to notice any pricing because I wasn't really looking to buy anything, but he was so friendly and kind that I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in town next!
