I saw a previous review on here about someone saying that Amy was not polite, and I wanted to say that we discovered the absolute opposite. In fact, everybody at the store was incredibly kind, helpful, and I would recommend them 100%. Amy herself was so kind and warm hearted, had a lovely conversation with her while waiting my turn for pick up. I bought my first James Avery bracelet at the Houston airport over a year ago, and this was my first time going to an actual store. I live in Minnesota and stopped here while on vacation. If you are looking for a unique souvenir, I could not recommend their bracelets and charms enough. And this location is A+ for customer service of any retail outlet I have ever been to. read more

I stood patiently waiting and rather than take the time and courtesy to at least ask me what I was there for she continued to ignore me. The customer even said to her you can go help him. She continued to ignore me and I left. I have purchase many items from James Avery for my wife, daughters, friends and family. I seriously do not think I will ever go back. Okay so first off, the customer service was AMAZINGGG! Walking is was welcoming. Versus the mall location, I did NOT feel like a statistic. I had the pleasure of working with Ms.Shaawna! So patient, kind, caring and very knowledgeable!! She helped me pick out some charms for my grandmother, and even got them engraved. Not once did I feel rushed. (Even with a long line behind me) I think it's best for the employees to wear what they are selling. Shawna was a real life model! James Avery bracelet packed with charms! I had such a great experience this morning. I had a lot to do. I was getting my husband a Father's Day cross necklace with engravings, buying a birthday charm for a friend, and engraving one of my charms that I already had. Carla was the team member who helped me and she was absolutely wonderful! She met me on the floor and helped me pick out everything. She was so friendly, sweet, fun, helpful, and patient. considering the fact that i always have a good experience at my local james avery i didn't expect anything bad out of going to this one, but i was clearly mistaken. on mother's day weekend i was at the mall and had two last minute gifts to purchase so i decided to stop by at the nearest james avery to me which was unfortunately the one on bay area, i walked in picked out what i needed and headed towards a register. everything was fine until i checked out, the employee ( kristine ) said i can go ahead and make my payment so i did the screen said " approved ". two seconds later kristine tells me it didn't go through, which was weird to me so i checked my bank account and it indeed did go through for $127, i asked her to check again because on my end it definitely went through. kristine called another employee which im assuming is a higher up than her ( evelyn ) and evelyn claimed it wasn't showing up on their system. i asked her what we could do then because now im short $127 and no gifts, again they couldn't give me a valid explanation other than telling me that i needed to call my bank. i got fed up and walked out with nothing, i came back a few minutes later still debating what to do because i really didn't want to give this location anymore money, but i needed the gifts and had no time to drive to another location so i had to pay $127 AGAIN. this was on a saturday, bank was closed sunday, called monday and had to wait 3 days to get my money back. i understand things can happen but an apology for the inconvenience could've been the least evelyn or the " manager " Doreen could have given me, first and last time ever going to this location. read more

This location is horrible, the service in here is horrible. 90% of the time when you walk in nobody greets you and the staff is beyond snooty. I've been shopping at this store for many years and ever since they opened their new location I have had iffy encounters with the staff. To top that off the last time I brought my bracelet in to have a charms put on and cleaning when I got it back it was not clean at all. When I addressed it today with the staff she told me that it was probably because my bracelet was dirty to begin with, which is not true I have taken very well care of my jewelry and even the new charms I had put on looked like they didn't polish them and they were dirty. I will take my business elsewhere, and I would tell others to stay away from this location unless you like being treated like you're beneath the staff. read more

Customer service was pretty much non existent. So I've been to James Avery a few other times, but this was the only one where the employees were out right rude. It was also the first time I didn't pick what I wanted before arriving at the store, so of course I wasn't aware of the policy that I can't look through the pamphlet while in line. I actually don't have a problem with the policy (although the line was more than long enough), but the lady that informed me of this was unnecessarily rude and rather than actually helping me find something just told me to leave when she leaned I was still looking for something. Again I don't hate the policy, but they have to get someone actually helpful and welcoming to enforce it. I just left and will not ever be returning. Thankfully there's a Pandora jewelers in the bay Brook mall across the street from this place that has both better service and better prices that I was able to find the charm bracelet I wanted in. Love love the new location! So bright, cool, tons of parking space. I am glad it's larger it's easier to walk around and take your time, speaking of time you will need it because you have to navigate this open space to browse the jewelry. No worries though their are ample iPads which the ladies are happy to retrieve and help you locate a specific item online. Placed curbside order on Valentine's Day. Website said be there before 5 for curbside I arrived a little before 3. Sign on door said they were closing at 3 due weather. A woman picked the phone up and proceeded to hang up on me! Keep in mind there were plenty of people in the store. Lady's at the door refused to open or attend the many curbside orders customers that were standing outside! No update via text or email was sent out to let us know that at 3 they were closing! Everyone who works here is very helpful and friendly. Doreen, who I believe might be the manager, usually helps me and is so sweet. I recently had a bracelet with about 25 charms moved over to a new bracelet, and since I had so many charms she gave me a discount to have them all moved at one. And a tip if you didn't already know.... They will "buy back" your charm bracelet for a discounted price if you are upgrading bracelets. Takes a good little chunk off the purchase price for sure. read more

It seems as if no one at this location is ever in a good mood. I had the "pleasure" of Becky helping me last night and she was literally NO help at all. She basically stood there behind the counter and after me waiting with no one else in line she finally said "you need help" I had 2 charms I needed to get put on and I wanted to purchase the Angel wings as well as get them engraved. I ended up NOT getting the angel wings because she acted as if it would take 3 weeks or longer. My sister JUST bought us the best friend charm and had them engraved and it took no where near 3 weeks or longer. Had a last minute gift change for my niece and needed to pick up a pair of earring that was said to be in stock with it being the "last pair" I continued with my online purchase, and made my way to the store several hours later and only to find out that they did not have the earrings and the lady on the pick up station was not wearing a name tag, so I cannot say who she was but she was of no help and wasn't nice at all. I really was wanting to purchase a pinky dangle ring with a tiara charm and James Avery's site showed that they do sell them. When I arrived here, I was surprised to find some many people inside ... just didn't think this place was that popular. LOL! Unfortunately, the tiara charm would be way too large for a dangle ring, as it as much larger in living color than online. So I opted to skip this item. I did, however, purchase 2 cute necklaces for myself while I was here. Their jewelry is cute, nothing that is too overstated, which is what I like. I think they could have earned another star had they had just a few more options in 14k gold, but Rita, who was a doll, explained to me that it hasn't been popular due to the price of gold. Being a "Christian" store, you'd think they would be nice, but my girlfriend and I received very poor customer service when coming in here to purchase a ring (which we ended up doing so anyway). The bougie younger girls working here seem to think they're better than you even though if it wasn't for people going in to purchase their jewelry, they wouldn't have their job. Although most staff was friendly, Jocelyn was not as kind to me and kind of had an attitude. She was "fake nice" saying things to me with a unfriendly tone. Nothing annoys me more than someone who is "friendly-rude" to someone who doesn't know the process of how customers are supposed to select all items before asking to see them. This isn't how I've shopped at other jewelry retailers so I APOLOGIZE for not knowing the culture of the customer shopping experience. All in all, she wasn't utterly rude but I did not leave feeling a sense of happiness like you should leaving a Christian environment. So sad. Not sure what happened at the new location. Entered near closing time and door greeter indicated there was time to shop & I asked for assistance with an item. Terrible service. I went at 10 am, when the store opens there were about 5 people working. None of them acknowledged me but instead looked me up & down as if I didn't belong. Keep in mind I am wearing work out clothing. I proceeded to walk to the counter to this lady & asked her if I could exchange a ring that I was given to as a present the prior week. She looked me up and down with a snarky look and asked if she could see the ring. I gave it to her & she looked at the ring & blatantly said " no. It has scratches so we can't sell it back" super rude manner. I've never had an unpleasant experience at James Avery. Today was the first time. Shawna-was the associate who "took care" of me at the Webster location. Really beautiful new larger store. She was not very nice or polite. Answered my questions cold and short. kept insisting the chain was sold separately. Making me feel like I could afford the chain just because I asked how much it was. I still purchased my script letter with the chain even though I had to ask for the box since I mentioned wearing it out. I know I didn't NEED the box but it's still polite to ask. They didn't have the Texas-heart in stock which is what I originally went in for so it can be for Harvey. But, I'll just buy it online since she didn't give me the option to there. read more

I purchased a size 9 ring, and it turned my finger green. I went back to the store, and they gave me a new ring, same size. Turned my finger green. I went back AGAIN to tell them their ring was not entirely sterling silver and was told I'm clearly just sensitive to silver. Interesting... wonder why my other sterling rings I've purchased elsewhere don't turn my fingers green. Also, I wore my mom's size 7 from James Avery on one of my fingers to test out my theory coming up. Her ring did not turn my finger green. Here's my theory: bigger sizes usually equal higher pricing, just like with clothing. They're selling a larger size ring for the same price as a smaller sized ring, meaning they won't be making a profit from using more metal to make the larger ring. Why not mix in a little bit of a different metal to compensate. Although I do purchase charms for my bracelet from James Avery, I will not be purchasing rings from here, and I'm a ring person. They have so many pretty rings I'd love to have, but I don't want to wear something that leaves a green mark behind. That's not very pretty, especially for the price I'd be paying. read more
