My husband and I came to this establishment to look for some new earrings. Upon walking in, we were greeted and welcomed in. Ross said he would take care of us although he was still in training and the other 2 sales associates were busy with guests. No problem at all. Ross worked with me and what I was looking for, about 10 mins in, one of Ross's colleague came over, Erin to take over. I had a couple of questions about setting, change of placements, etc. Indecisive as I am because it's not easy to just drop money and be okay with an item that I'm not entirely sold on, I told Erin we will think it over and thank you for her time. Before I could get another word in, she walked off, no business card no anything. I had to ask for a business card... assuming she would write down what I just tried on, she sent us out the door. My husband did come back to this establishment to buy me my new pair of earrings. Erin didn't bother to acknowledge or welcome him back, another sales associate took my husband and helped him. Day of pick up... and this is what they handed to my husband. Is this a joke? Regardless of price value... it's jewelry! Did we just put a quarter into the gum ball machine? My husband even asked for a box and they said "no." You should be embarrass to send out jewelry from your store in a bag like it's a joke that it wasn't worth a box to be in. Thanks for taking our money and treating my new gift like it's a joke. Will not be returning to this establishment, and next time if you helped someone and they return; take them if you can or say "Hey! Thanks for coming back." They explained all of the options to with him, all from out of state, and were extremely knowledgeable of their craft - on top of that, when I unfortunately caused a crack in one of the stones somehow (who does that?!), one of the employees was actually in town for a conference and took my ring back with them to Houston to have it repaired!! Slade Lewis is very knowledgeable about watches, and spent some time chatting with me about current watch trends, and attending Baselworld. He even took out some very nice tourbillons for me to admire. Whenever I am in Houston, I pass by the Clear Lake store to check out their watches. I mentioned to Slade (the owner) that I was looking for a pretty tough to find Rolex over the holidays. I came in specifically wanting to deal with Lisa because of how she treated my parents when they bought matching Rolexs at your old store on Highway 3. Strange place. First, they have a receptionist(?) I asked her for help finding a chain. She didn't know (?) if they had chains but told me to wait for a sales person. OK. Watched two people behind a register talking. Watched another employee walk past me twice and then sit down and chat with the receptionist. Nobody approached me. This was about 5 minutes of waiting. At that point I left, telling them I was sorry they couldn't help me. I don't know how a business that can have so many employees doing nothing stays profitable. I bought my chain elsewhere that same evening. If you buy from them know that they build in the price of idle employees, so don't expect a deal. Also make sure you are willing to wait. When a friend of mine was ready to buy a ring for his (now) fiance, Lewis listened to exactly what he was looking for and designed the perfect ring! I have been in their store numerous times and it is a beautiful, inviting place to shop. They have a great selection for a wide range of budgets and styles, and the staff could not be more helpful or friendly. I would first like to say that I have been shopping at Lewis for years. I have had nothing but the best customer service one could hope for! All of the staff has helped me and my husband countless numbers of times; for my wedding, birthdays, graduations, etc... If ever there has been a delay or issue with sizing, ordering, or planning any piece of jewelry or timepiece in their establishment, they have gone over and above expected customer service and have phenomenal customer communication and respect. Let me start off by saying that if you are a bride-to-be and are involved in the decision process of the engagement ring your fiancé will be getting you, do not come here. If I could give is place 0 stars, I would. The only thing positive at this store is the young lady who greets customers at the door. I'm not saying that the entire store is trash, but one salesperson in particular, Dora, is. I was here in March 2013. My fiancé and I are in our late 20s, both very well educated, modest, presentable, and very well-mannered. We drove all the way from Katy to this store in hopes that the few good reviews online would prove to stand true. Unfortunately, this did not happen. My fiancé called ahead of time to let Dora know that we would be coming and upon meeting her, I noticed that her attention and eye contact regarding the engagement ring was on my fiancé, not me. When looking at one particular setting, she was pushy, saying, "You've got to talk to me and tell me what you like and don't like about it". Really? I've held the setting in my hand for about 2 seconds, so give me a minute to think about it. On top of that, when I had a few settings chosen, she decided to tell me what SHE didn't like about each one. If I was interested in hearing her opinion, I would have asked. After all, this is going to be my ring and not hers, so whether I like pave setting or not, deal with it. When looking at loose diamonds in one of the rooms in the back, she, again, directs all her attention to my fiancé and never hands anything to me first...knowing that the reason my fiancé took me along was because he wanted me to choose what I wanted. As if that wasn't enough, her low cut shirt with her disgusting cleavage hanging out made me feel like we were doing business with a low grade escort who by the way, is very sloppy with the way she handles loose diamonds. To make things incredibly worse, she decides to indirectly make a pass at my fiancé WHILE IM SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM! Yes, you read my last sentence correctly. She pointed out she really liked his lips...one of the most delicate and intimate places on a person's face. It was very uncomfortable for me and my fiancé and I took that as a personal insult. Does Dora really consider me so insignificant that making a comment like that to my soon-to-be-husband is okay? Especially in my presence? Someone should really tell her husband what exactly his wife thinks about "her measly .75 total carat weight" ring that her husband bought for her. How do I know she feels this way? Because she said that to us when she told us that the total carat weight of the one I was interested in was a little over 1.00 carat and that was something to be proud of unlike her "measly .75". Forget about the fact that she's a horrible salesperson, but more notably, she's a horrible woman that proved herself to be low class. Despite being treated this way, we did not show any disrespect to her at all and although I felt I had reason to give her a piece of my mind, I felt it more appropriate to leave without causing a scene. As a new bride, Dora ruined this experience for me. Choosing an engagement ring should be just as exciting for the couple as it is for the salesperson waiting for their commission check. I would like to point out that I'm not the type to go online and speak negatively about anyone or their establishment, but for the first time I felt compelled to warn new brides that this is not the place to go to. Needless to say, my fiancé called and spoke to a manager, Ashley, and although very apologetic and wanting to still to do business with us, it was his decision to stay away from here. Unfortunately for the management of Lewis Jewelers, Dora is a reflection of their judgement and just as easily and nonchalantly as she made a pass at my fiancé and insulted me as a woman, it appears that she is used to talking to clients this way. I'm sure she's probably done this to other customers and I wouldn't be surprised if she continues to do so. If Lewis hires people like this at their establishment, I don't even want to imagine who else they have working there. I'm not trying to discredit the other good reviews that are on here, and I'm really glad there are others who have had a good experience. I just felt it necessary to share my story so that other new brides and grooms know what to expect when coming here. Needless to say, Lewis has lost any potential business with us, as we were looking to purchase a very exquisite ring, high quality diamond, and my other wedding jewelry here for myself and my bridesmaids. read more
