RUN. DO NOT GO HERE…read more This location has been completely abandoned by the owner/manager. They purposely leave a skeleton crew of a single teenager, informed them that it is their policy to NEVER accept returns or complaints. If you ask them to make an Açaí Bowl, they will hand you a bowl of white yogurt base with random fruits available mixed in. If you tell them there is no Acai in the base since it is white and not PURPLE, they will threaten to call the police. If you ask them to blend it again, they will say their blenders blades are too dull for a different result. They don't answer the phone. Essentially the new owner came in, purchased the location, and is trying to extract all profit possible before shuttering it and closing it permanently. The touch screens are DIRTY AND STICKY. The surfaces of their work area are absolutely filthy with sticky residue from never being cleaned. And all the while the OWNER/MANAGER is making one single teenager figure it all out. They're basically paying them minimum wage to deal with all the complaints due to BAD MANAGEMENT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET SICK OR HAVE THEM THREATEN TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN THEY MAKE SOMETHING INCORRECTLY.

That's why this place is such a gem. The price point is surprisingly reasonable, actually better than the average cost of organic products in the area. While hanging out inside, I felt safe and at ease, sipping my drink and googling. The staff member who prepared my to-go order was incredibly friendly and personable. The interior and exterior were both spotless and well-maintained. They even have a cooler for keeping your drinks chilled if you're grabbing something on the go. Why 5 stars? Because I'm so glad I came here…read more --- --- --- 6-7 years ago, Acai bowls really had their day. There were shops popping up on every corner, and while I always loved acai bowls, they were pretty much the same no matter where you went. And after leaning pretty hard into this trend for a while, I reached acai over-saturation. Fast forward to recent times and I was excited to check out Nautical Bowls when it opened. The menu looked pretty unique, and it had been quite a while since my last bowl. Each weekend would come and go and I would still manage to not stop in. Today, I was sitting on the couch about to doze off. I had two choices: give into the nap Gods, and probably set myself up for a poor night of sleep ahead, or get up and finally make that trip to Nautical Bowls. I chose the latter, and as I mentioned above, I'm so glad I did. I walked in and stared at the menu for an awkwardly long time. Each item looked appealing and it seemed like they were all only 1-2 ingredients different from the last. I considered even building my own, but that thought was fleeting. Let's just roll with one of the chosen items. There's always a future visit where we can get crazy with something custom. So I went with the Blue Bay Bowl: Blue Majik, Açaí, Coconut, Spirulina Chia, Granola, Banana, Strawberries, Coconut Butter Crumbles. I asked what Blue Majik and Spirulina were: I was told both had a coconut cream flavor. I was also told Spirulina was an algae. That almost swayed me away, but I didn't want to be a basic b. Algae, you say? I aint scared. It turns out, this bowl met every single aspect of the fantasy I had in my head when I was debating between taking a nap and coming here. It was amazing. Every bite. It definitely was not your grandmother's acai bowl, either. There was a lot going on and I loved every aspect of it. And as promised, there was no shortage of coconut cream. I will absolutely be back because I want to try pretty much everything on the menu. Welcome to the 'hood, Nautical Bowls!

The selection is also getting stale. However, I will say the customer service is usually excellent. My wife and I were there a few weeks ago to buy milk in the morning. They have a big bald guy with a beard (forgot his name) who is super friendly and helpful. He was lugging a giant box of milk around when my wife asked him about the difference between a couple of brands of milk. Without even setting the box down this guy gave us a hilarious rundown of the differences in all the milks they carry. My wife picked out a gallon he suggested and he asked her what the expiration date was. After she told him he just said "I think I got something better". He put his box down, stuck his hands into the middle of a pallet, and yanked out a fresh one. He really seemed to enjoy his job along with helping us out.

I also want to recognize Patrick, who was working in the back stocking/unloading items. He took the time to go check for a product for me, came back personally, and let me know it was unavailable. I appreciated the effort and professionalism. Unfortunately, the experience at checkout completely changed the tone of my visit. The cashier, Marilyn, never greeted me, never acknowledged me when I spoke to her, and never thanked me at the end of the transaction. From beginning to end, there was not a single word exchanged from her side. When she handed me my receipt, her demeanor felt dismissive and honestly unpleasant. Idk what that attitude was about but imagine how quickly this could've gone downhill had I handled her just as rudely as she handled me. What stood out most is that there was no negative interaction beforehand that would have explained the behavior. Even if a greeting was somehow missed, there is no reason a customer should leave without at least hearing "thank you." One employee's poor customer service can easily overshadow the positive work of others, and that's exactly what happened here. Whole Foods needs to do better with consistency in customer experience, especially at the register where customers leave with their final impression of the store.
