I love this place! When I'm in the area for work this is one of my go-to spots. So far I have only had the Brown Stew Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken but both are absolutely fantastic! Always cooked to perfection and mouth-watering and I love that they will let me do double cabbage instead of rice. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop by to grab some takeout or eat at the small bar area and enjoy it piping hot. FYI there is a very limited bar seating area (3 bar stools were available last time I went but standing room for a little more at the bar).

Delicious Jamaican food! The oxtail was cooked so tenderly that the meat came off the bone super easily and the accompanying sauce was flavorful! The lamb curry was another hit with just the right spice kick and tender meat. They give a generous amount of meat and the right rice/beans to veggie ratio. The beef patties were also pretty good - a buttery pastry with meat marinated with some great spices. The plantains were another highlight for me! Even with takeout, the food was still hot and tasty! I would definitely order more of their yummy and affordable dishes.

Oxtails and beans/rice w side of cabbage.

The oxtails had a delicious flavor - not too spicy, not too bland, just right. There was a secret ingredient that subtly shines through the velvety, rich sauce. The oxtails were so succulent and tender that they fell off the bones. The cabbage was seasoned to perfection with carrots and peas to add sweetness that balances the sharpness of the cabbage. They were simmer to the right point - soft, tender, but not mushy. The cabbage reminded me of Sunday dinner. Now, if you are looking for heat that sets your mouth on fire, then you will be disappointed. The chef's skillful use of peppers and spices shines beautifully without killing your tastebuds. You can feel a little heat on the finish, but not to the point you miss his secret ingredients. I cannot wait to try the Curry Goat. That will be my next meal. And, if you are still reading, then you love food for the experience. That said, when you enjoy your dining experience (including take-out), then we owe it to the craftsman/woman to give him/her a call and thank him/her for their time, expertise, and delicious meal. Until my next meal...bon appetite.

Jerk Chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and coco bread! Not the best photo, she was hungry after her work shift!

So my daughter is on her Jamaican food kick (she loves spicy foods) so after leaving Liberty Public House, I ran here to get her fix. The cashier was super nice and got her order together in good time. Definitely a busy little take out spot as patrons came in to pick up orders. My daughter wanted the jerk chicken all white meat, rice and peas with cabbage and some coco bread! That box was heavy, lol. I have a taste and it was all pretty good but the cabbage was amazing! My daughter was looking for a bit more spice ( she loves M&F Jamaican Food truck) but said it was overall a good dish and would definitely go back! I want to try the Island Fried next go!

Curry goat, cabbage, rice and peas with plantains

I ordered curry goat with rice plantains and cabbage. Overall the only item that taste delicious was the cabbage. Plantains we're hard. Curry goat had no flavor and little sauce. Plus, the beans in the rice were undercooked. Expected more since I've heard very great reviews.

Half of what I ordered! Totally worth it! Brown Stew Snapper

Ordered the Brown Stew snapper with white rice. Did not expect a ton of veggies! I was very impressed! I will definitely be ordering again! The order did take a while but hopefully that was because it was made to order!

Didn't have a good experience with my first order. We ordered oxtails. I was so disappointed I wouldn't even eat there again for free.

If you're craving authentic Jamaican cuisine, this is a spot you'll want to keep on your radar. It's a small place but it's very cute. The staff was very friendly as well. From the first bite, everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and true to traditional Jamaican cooking. The oxtails were incredibly tender and packed with rich, savory flavor. The cabbage was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right, and the rice was a standout on its own--you could really taste the coconut milk, which added such a smooth, delicious touch. The curry chicken was another highlight. The meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone, and the flavor was bold without being overwhelming. But the real star of the meal for me was the salmon dish. It completely stole the show. The fish was cooked to perfection--tender, flaky, and full of flavor--and the cream sauce tied everything together beautifully. It was hands down my favorite dish of the night. OH!! I forgot about the coconut cloud cake... OMG!! I should have gotten two or three of them to take home. Even though it's a bit of a drive for me, it's one I'll gladly make again whenever I'm in the mood for amazing Jamaican food. We'll definitely be back sooner rather than later!

When I say the oxtails fall off the bone, I mean that. Flavorful, authentic, and cooked the way it's supposed to be. You can taste the difference. A lot of these other Jamaican restaurants out here are cooking for Americans and think people don't know the real taste. And let's be real--when you have people from other cultures cooking the food, it's hard to call it authentic. I just don't understand how it can be authentic if it's not being cooked by someone from the culture. Now I will say, compared to some other spots, like Karina (paired up with Jamaica House), they did upgrade and got bigger, and I respect that. But even there, you got a lot of Mexicans cooking the food, so it still takes away from the authenticity for me. Overall, I'm giving Jamaica House a solid 3 stars. The food--especially those oxtails--is definitely better than a lot of places out here that deserve zero, one, or no stars at all. If you want real flavor and something close to authentic, this is one of the spots to check out.

Overall, it was okay--definitely some hits and a few misses. Staff was nice and the place was cute. They had a packed house on a Wednesday night. We ordered a variety of items to really get a feel for the menu. I was especially excited to try the oxtail and mac & cheese egg rolls since everyone raves about them, but honestly, they were just mediocre. Not bad, just not as flavorful or memorable as I expected. On the positive side, the fish sandwich was really good--nice and not spicy with great flavor. The wings were also a win: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. And the sweet potato fries? Absolutely delicious. We also tried the Rasta pasta with added salmon. The pasta itself was very flavorful, and the salmon was juicy and cooked perfectly. The only thing that threw me off a bit was the cold vegetables on top of the hot pasta--like the cucumbers. It's possible that's part of the style, but it just wasn't something I'm used to. Still, overall, the dish tasted really good. I'm actually a little disappointed I didn't get the oxtails this time--that's usually the true test of a great Jamaican spot. If they can make a tougher cut of meat fall-off-the-bone tender, you know they're doing it right. I'll definitely be back to give those a try. For now, it was a decent experience with some standout items. I'm open to going back and trying something different, but at the moment, Jamaica House still has my heart.
