Callalo and sailfish with fried dumplings

I came here from North Babylon looking for some authentic Jamaican breakfast and I found it. I went to 2 spots closer to my home and they were closed on a Saturday morning. Shout out to Malik , he was very nice while taking my order. The place was clean and they had a nice variety. I ordered Ackee n salt fish with grn banana/dumpling n frd breadfruit, cornmeal porridge, callalo and salt fish with fried dumplings and some big codfish fritters. All very tasty. Try it... The parking lot is small

DELICIOUS. I'm so happy to have found this spot. I got two jerk chicken patties and a mild, along with a cream soda. ($10.20) I went around 5pm and at most places they'd be dried up. But at Jamaican Paradise they're still moist and full of flavor. I'll definitely be back this week and many more times to come. Very friendly service and you can order via uber eats as well!

After wanting oxtail but just was not in a mood to cook, I went to good ole yelp for some assistances. Jay O found this place and suggested we go. I was ready to head to Queens for some good oxtails! Lol- Jay O. Commented "Donald J has been here liked it and gave them a good review on the oxtails" I read it and we decided let's give it a try and hope we like it lol! So thanks again Donald! I said maybe on the way back I can stop by Vicky's Sabor lol just in case lol (another great cheap food spot). It's located in a strip which has a grocery store, Chinese and various other places. There's a parking lot which has quite a few spaces. Upon arriving at Jamaican paradise first thing was its appearance it was clean and they were friendly! The place is more of a take out place they probably have just about 3 tables. We ordered right away! Prices are reasonable and range from $6.50 to about $12.00 small, med and large. We ordered a medium oxtail w/rice and peas, and Mac and cheese, a small jerk chicken with gravy, rice peas and yams. Everything smelled really good. Man the oxtails flavorful and juicy! I just wanted some more!!!! Lol! Definitely order this if you are a oxtail fan. The rice also delicious! The yams soo yummy! Mac and cheese was okay. The jerk chicken was a miss for me. It could be my taste buds as Jay O. really enjoyed the jerk chicken. Definitely give this hidden clean cheap gem a try! I will be back that's for sure!!!

    Chicken curry patty

Enjoyed a very delicious meal from Jamaican Paradise thanks to Uber eats. Ordered the curry chicken patty. The dough was soft and flaky and there was plenty of tasty filling. Tried the oxtail meal: with rice and peas and vegetables. Oxtail was superbly flavored and tender, not chewy. The rice and peas were a bit dry. The vegetables were tasty too and also had nice flavor. Tried the Jerk Chicken meal: white meat jerk chicken, mixed vegetables, rice and peas. Tender chicken, very nicely marinated and seasoned. All the food was delicious. It was also packaged very well for delivery so that nothing spilled or got crushed. They also sent napkins and utensils which is rare these days. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Looking forward to trying more of their dishes.

I had a taste for some oxtails and wasn't in the mood to cook them myself so there are a lot of Jamaican restaurants in the area and I decided to go to this one that I've been passing by for a while And I'm so happy I did I got the oxtails that were tender and flavorful and falling right off the bone and they're rice and beans we're out of this world as were there collard greens They also had some beef tripe that I just had to try it was hot and spicy and just plain yummy. They have so much food in there that looks so good you don't know what to order and the women behind the counter are so friendly and helpful and explain all the foods to you if you ask So if you're in the area give them a try and you won't be sorry

Beef and jerk patties with brown stew chicken

Closest Jamaican spot to me aside from golden crust.. I HATE golden crust Bc their patties be just that, a whole heaping of crust and no meat in the damn thing. Welp, Jamaican paradise is the complete opposite. Great amount of meat in their patties and they have a good variety too. Reg & spicy beef...jerk chicken, bbq chicken etc.. haven't tried their oxtail yet but their brown stew chicken was good as well.. 4 tings mi yute

I really want to give this place a fair chance, but the repeated issues make it difficult. First, they open later than most Caribbean/Jamaican restaurants, and I've never seen breakfast served here. Each visit, there has also been an issue with food availability. More than once, certain menu items were either not ready or completely unavailable. For example, I went twice specifically looking for oxtails and was told they didn't have any. On the third visit, they miraculously did. Food-wise: Curry goat with rice and peas: Just okay. Nothing terrible, but definitely nothing to rave about. Oxtails with white rice: Disappointing. The rice was undercooked, the oxtail gravy was basically pure oil (which soaked into the rice and made it unpleasant), and the oxtails themselves were not great. Vegetables: Not tasty at all. Lunch specials: They do offer them, but the portions are very rationed. Unlike many Jamaican spots, you're not getting generous servings. The jerk chicken lunch special only comes with two small pieces of chicken. The one standout item I've had was the chicken soup--it was actually really good. The problem? They don't serve it every day. I've gone back twice specifically for the soup and was told it either wasn't ready or wouldn't be served that day. Overall, I genuinely want to see this small restaurant succeed, but the repeated inconveniences--especially not having food items ready on multiple occasions--are frustrating. Consistency, better preparation, and improved food quality would go a long way. Until then, it's hard to recommend.
