I'd say 2.5 stars instead of 3 based on the experience. We stopped in for a beef patty and coco bread on the run. There were only 2 customers before us, one at drive thru who was served pretty quickly and one lady who was there waiting when we arrived and who looked a bit annoyed. We ordered 2 patties with coco bread and cheese and one snapple. The price was $17 and some change. So you'd think we were just going to be handed a patty and leave because we could see the patties...but we actually took a seat and waited 15-20 minutes. The staff was nice and apologized for the long wait but seemed overwhelmed by the order before us. They must have not had all of the food prepared yet because you could just see scrambling and tension. When we finally saw that customer receive her order it wasn't a big order at all. The patty was very tasty, the coco bread really wasn't. For almost $18 and such a long wait to be handed a beef patty, I don't think I'd be in a hurry to return. However it's a cute spot, super clean and I really hope they do well.

Came upon this cute spot located in a small strip of restaurants. As you can see the exterior is clean and well lit as well as the inside. I loved the art work on the inside with nice Jamaican music playing. The menu is kinda alacarte The service was quick. The staff was friendly and most importantly the food was delicious. The cabbage wasn't over cooked or mushy like most places. It was flavorful and retained texture The wings were well done and so tender the jerk flavor was so good When it says 3 wings it's pieces not whole wings so order appropriately

"So do it Jamaica yeah Got plenty for you and me Honky tonkin' with my baby In that deep blue sea" (Elton John) I experienced none of the negative things some reviewers have written about, With all honesty, I had a FANTASTIC experience here tonight. First of all, I was greeted with a hearty "Hello Brother" by the cheerful counterman, and by the time I left with my takeout order ten minutes later, he must have called me brother ten times. The last one, was a "Goodbye Brother" and it was accompanied with a double hands on the heart bow from the waist!!! That was pretty awesome. I wanted to start with a spicy beef patty, but he had just popped a fresh batch into the oven and I didn't want to wait 20 minutes, so I went with a spicy beef and cheese patty ($3.59). It was very good, had a generous amount of filling that was very tasty and yes... very spicy. I also went with a small order of jerk pork with vegetables and rice and peas for $10. Now this is one of my go to dishes, and I LOVED it. More times than I can remember, jerk pork contains a fair amount of inedible fat and gristle. Not here -the pork was meticulously trimmed so every cubic inch of it was perfectly edible. Seriously, there was zero waste. And what good is that jerk pork without a good portion of rice and a yummy zippy jerk sauce over everything? Well, let me tell ya Brother, the rice and sauce were terrific and combined with the trimmed meat and shredded cabbage for a fantastic $10 dish. The Jamaican Kitchen is next door to a burrito joint which is next door to a Pho joint in a strip mall, all pretty much across the street from Bradley Airport. Think of them as a mini-international food court.

Jerk pork rice beans cabbage. Mid size lunch

This place is hit or miss. Some nights it's absolutely the best Jamaican food. Very top notch flavor and spice portions large. Other night cold food very bland and skimpy portions. Frustrating. We continue to visit as the good nights are worth it.

This place is a ripoff. 2 Jamaican patties for $8.25? And the lady at the counter wasn't friendly. You're located right by an airport. You don't have to have such high prices. You have a built in customer base with all the people flying in or out of Bradley International Airport. If you were smart , you'd have low prices and make up the difference in volume. You got me once but not twice. Will never visit again and I travel quite often.

Small salt-fish and ackee, small curried chickpeas, curried goat (plantains came with salt-fish dish), meat pie, gizzado

OK, this is my new favorite Jamaican place! We picked up yesterday and did a picnic at Northwest Park (also new to us). Our choices - ackee and saltfish (listed under breakfast but available for lunch) with a side of plantains, curried goat, curried chickpeas, meat pie and a gizzada (small pastry off the shelf). We also picked up a johnny cake mix from the small selection of other items on the shelf - and very nearly got a tempting looking rum cake. The Jamaican rock cake looked good too and may be a choice next time. Most dishes come in small, medium or large options with appropriate pricing. For two of us we got two small and one medium plus a meat pie and had a ton of leftovers! This is probably too much for two people but there were a lot of things we wanted to try. The big winner was the curried goat. Super tasty with a wonderful texture. As is pretty normal for this kind of dish, there are bones. Just be aware of this if the dish is new to you. I am told the ackee and saltfish was also another "get again" though I didn't try it myself. Great plantains cooked just right. The chickpea dish wasn't quite to our taste but that was more a personal seasoning preference - the curry style on the goat was more rich and flavorful for us. I like that they do use quite different seasonings on various curries though. I noticed there are picnic tables outside which is nice to have as an option, but Northwest Park was a great find for us too and provided wonderful shade in which to enjoy our lunch.

Absolutely fire! I ordered a small Jerk Chicken with peas & cabbage, a spicy beef patty, and spicy beef & cheese patty. Everything was delicious! My order was prepared promptly and portion sizes were perfect. if you are hungry and considering two different me options, I suggest ordering a small of both! I am excited to try the chicken curry next time.!

The flavor of the oxtails were perfect just enough sauce over the rice with the beans and peas. Rice was not starchy or sticky it was very flaky and delicious they also have tropical rhythms beverages which gives you the feel of the island. This is a must try!! even if you don't like Jamaican food there are some things on the menu that you will enjoy. I personally don't like spicy food so I went with the oxtails and I was definitely pleased. I'm quite picky and I will return!

I went to check out the Jamaican Kitchen on its second day open. As soon as you walk in, the incredible smell of Jamaican food hits you. I tried the curry chicken and beef patties (spicy and mild). The chicken was mild but flavorful. The meat was so tender it was falling apart. That entree came with rice and beans, with cabbage. The beef patties were both terrific - I'd recommend the spicy. It's got a kick without being overpowering. I'm already excited to go and try out the rest of the menu!

2 of the 4 pieces of chicken in their "large" stew chicken are leg bones lmao
    Simone D.

Be warned- pure and unadulterated ripoff @ Rocky Hill location The "large" stew chicken for $13.99 has 4 pieces of meat  which were mostly bone and 1 piece of chicken skin(see pic). The chicken on the left and right side of my plate are literally just the leg bones lmao- you can't make this stuff up! (see other pic) The "large steak" for $14.59 has 8 pieces of bite sized meat which tasted suspiciously like stew beef and nothing like steak. There's profit and then there's stiffing your customers. Never again
