    Curry Goat, cabbage, greens, cornbread

I highly recommend this restaurant. I ordered food to go. It was super flavorful, and served hot. I had curry goat, greens, cabbage, and cornbread. That was a medium plate as well. So much food and yes I ate it all . If you're ever in Philadelphia near the airport, give this place a try!

Brown Stew Chicken, Greens, Rice & Peas, with Mac & Cheese. A medium platter for only 9.00

I was out shopping at Penrose Plaza, figured I check this place out. Nice size restaurant, enough space to walk around & get a good feel of the place. Nicely Clean & the staff were so friendly. I have to admit I was shocked to see their reasonable prices. I decided to order a medium brown stew chicken, with rice & peas, Mac & cheese, with collard greens, you can't beat that for 9.00. The portion sizes we're good, but I was a bit disappointed with the taste. The stew chicken was pretty decent, the collard greens didn't have enough flavor, The Mac & cheese was okay. The best part of my platter was the cornbread and Rice & peas. It just didn't serve that rich authentic Jamaican food that hits your soul & stomach. It wasn't a horrible experience, however I don't think, I would return in the near future.

Don't judge the book by the cover! Stop in and enjoy some home cooking!

Today, I was searching for a lunch spot. Something different, and ran across Jamaica Way. Located in a strip mall with various other standard fast food options. I chose this place because it was not the standard fast food. I walked in expecting a few options. Was greeted with much more. Jamaica Way offered up a very large selection of food options. I went with the Jerk Chicken and 3 sides. The 3 sides were piled on and really made the meal a full lunch portion. I liked the food and even added more jerk chicken to completely stuff myself. I think this place can cook! Family style !! Gets a full 5 stars for the food. I would suggest others make a stop and make your own judgement! Thanks, I will be back if close by.

    Jamaican Way nasty food

The food is horrible!!! I wouldn't feed that slop to my dog. The Mac taste horrible!! It's not edible!!! The jerk chicken is not seasoned properly!!!! It was so nasty!! Just a bunch of pepper!!! The yams was okay. I will never spend another dime in that store. Please don't waste your time or money!! Very nasty!! jerk & macaroni!!!!!! I through that crap in the trash!! I want my $14.00 back

Oxtails, yummy but there is a lot of fat :/

I'm not an expert on Jamaican food at all, but I thought this place was pretty darn good. My aunt and I shared the curry goat and oxtails, both of which were flavorful enough for me to finish off everything. We ate in the place since I was just wasting time before my flight from the airport which is super close. It's a small little place in a somewhat desolate plaza. They serve you in a To go box and everything is kept warm like in a buffet. I also had the Mac and cheese which was just ok. We had bottles of water but when we asked for ice they didn't have any. I'm assuming this place is really just meant for food taken to go. They have tables just to allow you to eat there but they don't waiter or serve you otherwise. The place is rough on the edges but clean for the most part. In short, good place for quick Jamaican take out.

Outside there is a guy that is always there selling everything from cologne to purses. The hood, you gotta love it!

This is a neighborhood Caribbean restaurant in the Penrose shopping center. I'm a huge fan of this cuisine and usually the off the beaten path restaurants are a hit. However I didn't find this place to fit the bill. My main disappointment was with the jerk chicken. I was moderately underwhelmed with flavor and severely disappointed that of all things they didn't have plantains. Considering they are literally next door to a grocery store a Caribbean dining spot should never run out of plantains. They have the food out in front (cafeteria style) so you see what you are getting ahead of time. Other places I have been everything is brought from the back. I honestly don't really care as long as the food is good. I'm not going to write this place off as totally bad but I personally wasn't impressed enough to try again. But give it a try yourself. I suppose my reference point is a little too high because I have been to other places that literally have me sucking on bones the flavor is so good. This just wasn't one of them.

All were pretty solid! The Pringles remind me of something other than mashed potatoes but I can't put my finger on it. The Oreos are all different flavors and are slightly thinner than the Oreos sold here in the US. The flavor I tried was White Peach and Crystal Grape. Interesting combination to mix with chocolate but it was actually tasty. The matcha chocolate doesn't taste like chocolate. The matcha flavor is very strong and it tastes like you're biting into a block of matcha but with the consistency of chocolate. I wasn't helped by anyone besides the cashier so I can't speak too much on the staff but overall I was able to navigate the store without any questions. This spot has been a godsend for finding all the spices I need to keep my home kitchen stocked. For reference, here's just a small slice of what I regularly pick up from International Foods and Spices because I cook way too much pho, jerk chicken, lemongrass beef, and al pastor: Allspice Clove Cumin Annatto/Achiote Cinnamon (both cassia and regular) Coriander Various peppercorns Anise Star Anise Bay leaf Garam masala whole spice mix (and preground) Fenugreek (methi) Dried peppers Kashmiri chili powder ... and much much more! That's not even counting the staples like tahini, ghee, and various nuts, grains, dried beans, and other things. The only thing I'd say I wish they had more of was a better fresh herb selection. One quarter to half of the flavor in my cooking comes from fresh herbs, and if they had thai basil, mint, and other things like that regularly, it'd truly be a one stop shop for flavor. Large delicious shrimp. I was a lil surprised that it didn't have the kick that traditionally is in a jerk pasta but probably thought best to mild down the spice to cater to the more palatable audience. Received the message the order was ready at the exact time was estimated. Walked into the store. Nicely decorated with large plants and the traditional Jamaican decor. The front desk lady welcomed with a smile. Food was packed perfectly. Had the Reynolds wrap and wonderfully placed in the containers. Highly recommend!!!
