Its amazing to watch Dr K and Debbie work. They are so patient with their clients' parents,...they really make sure everything is explained in detail and with care. Most of us treat our furbabies as our family, and I'm thankful JPV understands this. I'm so grateful for this team. Great job! read more

We had just became new clients with JPV just to get my 2 dogs checkups and shots. But we came during a time right when our 10 year old miniature daushunds health started going down hill out of nowhere. She started having seizures and after visiting the ER we had our first appointment with JPV the staff was so amazing, welcoming and sweet to us. When it came time to meet Dr. Kirkpatrick right off the bat this is a vet that cares wholeheartedly about his clients and their pets. he helped get us back on track with our Shiba Inu and getting test results were so quick I was so shocked. he called me after hours to discuss the test results of my daisy in regards to her seizures and by the tone of his voice it wasn't good news and he genuinely and calmly discussed my options as my whole world came crumbling down as I made the decision to put my precious baby down. I spoke with Laura to schedule her and she helped me when I brought my baby in and all I can say is this office has so much care and compassion to us when we haven't been clients for a long time. The room they put us in was comforting and relaxing it's so perfect to spend the final moments with your pet and that's what I had with daisy. I'm so glad I made the appointment when I did because when dr Kirkpatrick brought daisy in he told me she had started the process of passing so we wanted her to start resting and no longer be in pain and as I'm losing my fur baby I hear dr Kirkpatrick tell me I gave her a great life and this was the best decision I made for her and she went peacefully. I can't thank this team enough for what they done and we will still be bringing in our other dog for check ups shots etc. I will recommend this place to everyone if you want a place that cares for pets like it's their own I highly recommend Jamacha Pet Vets read more

I've been taking my dog Chobi here ever since I got him back in July 2021. From his puppy vaccines to getting neutered, the staff has been professional and easy to work with. They offer competitive pricing on their canine packages and usually have appointment availabilities within the following week. Only downsides are that they close pretty early and they're not open on the weekends :( that might be a dealbreaker for those who work Monday - Friday 9-5pm jobs. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this team. We took our boy Teddy in last October because of some concerning symptoms and unfortunately it was time for him to go to heaven. The absolute compassion, honesty, and gentleness with which our family was treated by Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team makes me tear up to this day. So grateful for all they did. One of the vet techs (Jessica I believe) really took a shine to Teddy and went the extra mile to make him comfortable. Amazing team. All of my future pets will be coming here, and I always tell any friend with a pet to make the decision to get their pets cared for by these wonderful people. read more

Dr. Kirkpatrick and his amazing staff went over and beyond for my girl Amirah. Unfortunately, she passed unexpectedly but they gave her the love and care she required and deserved for the short time they knew her. I don't live close to the office (and even further now since I've moved further west) but I will definitely use them again for any other animals I adopt. Thank you for being so kind, accommodating, and supportive towards Amirah and I during that difficult time. We both definitely felt the love. Bravo! read more

This veterinarian hospital is a BLESSING!!!!! I took my fur baby Jack in because he had fox tails in his mouth and was in pain and they came to his rescue Im financially tight due to Covid and I was pulling money out of my rent and the doctor was so understanding and worked with me financially, I'm crying typing this because no one was willing to do what he did! They are like angels sent to save and help our fur babies! Thank you sooooooo much! If I could hug all of you I would! read more

We have just relocated back to East County San Diego after living in Nor. Cal for five years. I have to visit the vet a lot because our little dog tends to have a lot of recurring problems with allergies and other TMI things. I was beyond impressed with Dr. Kirkpatrick's staff and his professionalism/knowledge. Even though we cannot go inside due to COVID, he came out to my car and talked to me through the window, safely. He took the time to explain literally everything to me, never did I feel that I was a burden asking questions. He completely respected my decisions. The Dr. even called me a few days later to ask how things were going and to reach out if I ever had questions. He offers products and treatments, but does not push them. I felt that the things he offered made sense, and were focused on supporting my pet's health. Highly recommend. Good parking, centrally located in El Cajon. Prices were reasonable. First visit is about 1/2 off. read more

This vet was such a blessing! They were fully booked for the day when i called about my cat showing signs of a uti and they made room for us. They saved me a trip to the emergency vet and they are pretty affordable! I loved every person that i came in to contact with that works there. Dr. Kirkpatrick was so kind and you can really tell he loves animals. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family and they definitely got me as a lifelong customer! read more

There is no where else I would ever take my pet if this place was an option! It's taken me a few weeks to write this but we recently lost our pup and I've been meaning to write a review to express how amazing the team at Jamacha Pet Vets was during our lose. Even long before, they've always been amazing! The team and office was recommended to me during the COVID era and I made the switch. Our pup was 130 pounds and hard to handle but they loved on him and always were so great with him. When it came time to say goodbye to our big guy, they made it so comforting. We decided to bring him in rather than do it at home because of his size. So when we came in and they walked us to the room I was so surprised to see such a nice room. It felt like I was at home. Everyone was so kind and they gave us as much time as we wanted to say our goodbyes. I can not say enough great praise about the whole team at Jamacha Pet Vets. Once we are ready to get our next pet, you can bet we will be back! I had been to four vet office with our big guy and JPV was by far the best I've ever experienced. We love them! read more

They always take great care of our dog, Otto, and make us feel welcome. They have good customer service and great pet care!

Dr. Kirkpatrick and his staff are absolutely amazing. They truly care about your pet, rather than other vet clinics that only care about the money. We have been taking our older pit bull here for a little over a year and they have always taken such delicate care of our pup. I highly recommend taking your pet here. Thank you again to Jamacha Pet Vets!! read more

I have never been so pleased with a Veterinary Clinic as I am with Dr. Kirkpatrick's office. I happened to find them on a whim. And thank Goodness I did. Such a wonderful caring staff. And Dr. Kirkpatrick is such an amazing doctor. Very caring, works with people's budget. Very understanding and extremely wonderful at what he does. My Golden Retriever was seen Friday and treated. I recieved a call today from the doctor himself checking in on her! If I could give 10 stars I would. I highly recommend to all pet lovers, if your loved animal/animals need to see a Vet, this is the place to go. Thankyou Dr. Kirkpatrick and Staff! read more

I rescued a puppy from the Chula Vista animal shelter and Jamacha Pet Vets was one of the many veterinarians that offer a complimentary exam. I called to make an appointment and Debbie was very nice. She was able to get us in the next day. I was so impressed with their service that I switched my other dog Brutus to their care. Dr. Kirkpatrick is very thorough and genuinely cares about the well being of your fur babies. The techs Tracy & I think his name was Gio? We're also very nice! I would definitely recommend them! read more

Doctor and staff are genuinely nice and caring for your pet. They aren't money hungry compared to other vets I've experienced in San Diego. My older female pitbull was spayed. SO SO HAPPY we found this place! We used to go to ECVVH and were so unhappy with their service and the pricing and just the way they treated both humans and animals. But here - it is the complete opposite - everyone from the people on the phone to the techs to Dr. Kirkpatrick are amazing and the service is beyond great. Thank you from us and our fur baby! read more

Nothing but amazing things to say about this veterenary office. We originally took her to another vet for her first visit, and that office seemingly wrote her off as healthy. From check-in all the way down to discharging our new baby girl from their office, they have been extensively thorough (in finding that Athena actually had some infections going on, which they were able to test her positive for), addressing any concerns we had, additional costs, treatments, and preventative care for our puppy. We loved how well taken care of our puppy was and how personable, professional, friendly, prompt, reasonable, & knowledgable all the staff was. Dr. Kirkpatrick had nothing but knowledge to provide; no judgment at all. Thank you Debbie, Simon, & Dr. Kirkpatrick, this was an amazing visit for Athena. read more

We adopted Jagger (a rescue) and he desperately needed a dental. Our regular Vet was not available as quickly as we wanted. We received a referral for Dr. Kirkpatrick through a friend of a friend. Fast, efficient, fair and great with my little killers. Ha, they're mini schnauzers who think they are 10 feet tall. No fear. Took their exam by Dr. K with ease. He was very kind and thorough. Would strongly recommend. Front desk staff also very kind and caring. read more

The Dr. and staff were the very best under less than perfect conditions. My wonderful Layla was in bad shape but they did they're best for her and me. I'm thankful that they gave me a couple of more months with her and for how they treated us. I'll be adopting again after the current pain is gone and the Dr. Kirkpatrick is who I'll trust. Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team at Jamacha Pet Vets are Awesome! I was referred by a friend and it was definitely worth the drive from Mission Hills. Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team are very knowledgeable and took the time to make me feel very confident leaving my pup Oliver there. I brought Oliver in for teeth cleaning and Dr. Kirkpatrick noticed a tooth that was cracked and needed to be removed. Dr. Kirkpatrick updated me every step of the way. Oliver is very happy now that the cracked tooth has been removed. If it wasn't for Dr. Kirkpatrick Oliver would still be in pain. Now Oliver enjoys playing with his rope toy again which he had abandoned for the past 3 months prior to Dr. Kirkpatrick removing his bad tooth. Also Dr. Kirkpatrick did an excellent job cleaning the rest of his teeth! I have nothing but good things to say about this place I will never go anywhere else! read more

I just had my dog neutered at Jamacha Pet Vets and I can only say that this is an amazing place to take your furry friend to be taken care of when it comes to their medical needs. I am really impressed and pleased with the level of professionalism that all the clinic's staff and the doctor himself handled themselves with. During these very unprecedented times safety and healthy procedures are some of the must have's any place should have to keep us all healthy. Everyone at the clinic was very aware of the social distancing protocols that are in place right now. Nevertheless, the doctor was very thorough on his analysis and care instructions and when conveying this information to us. Reassuring us in repeated occasions that we should not hesitate to contact him at anytime if we had any questions or concerns. We all, new pet owners, know how important this is to us. I will definitely take my sweet big boy there, any time he needs it! read more

We got our first dog last year and had no idea what to do to take care of him; it was like having a baby again! I was fortunate enough to connect with Dr. Kirkpatrick and Loki is very fortunate I made they connection. Honestly I feel like my dog gets better care than I do at the doctor! Dr. Kirkpatrick is incredibly compassionate and renders care in a way that is both reasonable and considerate. I've been working with Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team since October. My rescue pup has skin and ear issues and they've done so much to help her feel more comfortable and heal. They're very accommodating, super friendly, and it's clear that they're all there because they love animals. Dr. Kirkpatrick explains everything very thoroughly, gives you many options, and (since I'm a little nerdy) has even invited me to take a look at the swabs under the microscope so that I know exactly what he's describing. The office is an hour round trip from my home and it's totally worth the trip. read more

I recently started bringing my pets to Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team. It is very difficult finding a new veterinary clinic that you trust. For last couple months I have been to this clinic several times and have found that they are very easy to speak with and also very responsive. Dr. Kirkpatrick is very thorough, informative and very kind. I believe him and his staff truly care about the animals that they treat. I feel very lucky to have found this clinic. read more

I created a yelp account just to give Jamacha Pet Vets and Dr. Kirkpatrick a review! I have a 10 year old pit-bull mix who has had many health issues in the past. I have been seeing Dr. Kirkpatrick for several years and have followed him from the last clinic to his new location in El Cajon because he is such a great vet. Making an appointment is easy and they do a great job setting appointments even with my busy schedule. The location in El Cajon is very convenient with easy access and good parking. Debbie at the front desk is super nice and knowledgeable. The clinic is very welcoming and extremely clean. Everyone at the clinic seems happy and makes you feel like you are part of their family. Dr. Kirkpatrick and staff excel in communication and help you understand the entire process of your pets treatment. I always leave knowing exactly what is going on and what the game plan is moving forward. Dr. Kirkpatrick really takes his time to make sure he explains everything to you and answers all your questions in a clear, calm, unrushed manner. The clinic has lots of new equipment and Dr. K seems to know all the newest studies and treatments. I have been to vets in the past that are just too old school and don't seem like they have changed their treatments in 20 year. Recently Dr. K was treating my dog for bladder stones, after the Xray he noticed my dog has arthritis. It was nice to know he takes the time to look at everything when he is working with your animal (not just looking for the stones). He recommended a great strategy that has significantly improved my dogs energy, mobility and all around demeanor. We implemented medicine, appropriate activities, diet (made a huge difference) and specific exercise. I couldn't be happier with the treatment. If you want a vet that treats you and your animal like family I recommend Dr. K at Jamacha Pet Vets! read more

BEST VET EVER! Hands down. After going through a horrible experience at another vet, we decided to give Jamacha Pet Vets a chance. Our dog, had both acls torn/broken to the point where he did not want to put his feet down. He is an almost 11 years old cocker spaniel. He has been active his whole life, jumping, running like crazy all the time. We could not watch him just laying in his bed and not be able to do anything. We took him in, and the admin staff, vet techs and doctor was waiting for us with open arms. we did xrays, ultrasounds before the double tplo surgery to make sure nothing else was wrong with our dog. Highly recommend it! Everything was explained very well about the surgery and what we should expect. This is a long road to recovery. It takes about 8-12 weeks for dogs to fully heal...(now ours had both legs repaired...cant even imagine the pain he went through). We were given instructions how and what to do and dont do with him. Clear, specific information and when to take him for follow up xrays in the upcoming weeks/months. We just got back from his 8week post xray, and i am very relieved as he is about 80% healed already. Our dog already trying our patience by wanting to jump all the time again :) I cant thank enough Jamacha Pet Vets, the staff and Dr. K and the surgeon to take care of our dog in an excellent matter. They are not only took care of our dog, but us as parents, Dr. K was always there to answer our questions or if we had any concerns. Everybody is knowledgable and attentive to you and your pet. Check-in and check-out is a breeze and Dr. K makes every effort to say bye or to be available if you have further questions! Again, thank you for all that you do! We have found our forever Vet! read more
