This place was subpar at best. I ordered a beef taco, a chicken taco, and a quesadilla. Both tacos were extremely dry--so dry that they were almost inedible. I only managed a few bites before giving up. The quesadilla had decent flavor, but it was incredibly greasy. Unfortunately, the service didn't make up for the food. The woman who took my order wasn't very friendly, which added to the disappointing experience. The only positive thing I can say is that my Coke was good--it came in a can. They offer mini quesadillas which are perfect, I got the Al pastor and it was delicious, I also got the barbacoa and Al pastor tacos which were a 10/10, and the birria sandwich was amazing , a little bit greasy but so worth it. They have 3 different sauces, my favorite by far was sweet and tasted like pineapples I put it on everything. I also had the loaded fries with chicken and I would honestly skip these, they're crinkle cut and taste like the ones that come frozen in a bag and the chicken was not anything to rave about. Service was okay, the place is pretty small but very nicely decorated with the walls painted. They also sell a few Mexican candies which I bought a few of to try! We're always looking for good taco spots, and this one was a great find! We see this place when we go to the gym so we finally tried it out and holy yum! We started off with the guac and chips, and the portion was pretty big. We shared it and still didn't finish it. The guac was sooo good, it's easy to mess to guac but this place definitely didn't. I tried the al pastor and asada tacos, both for the spot. We also got a side of esquites which were also so yummy! Next time I would try the elite to see and taste how they do it and it'll give me an excuse to come back! Wow this may be my new favorite Mex place! Their tacos are so delicious, full of flavors and piping hot! I like how they have mini quesadilla, and also gladly do a half/half large quesadilla like many places do with pizza. Highly recommend their fresh juices, especially considering that the Jarritos are $3 and Mex Coke $4, the juices at $3.50 is a steal! Especially as it comes in a tajin-rimmed cup topped with a tamarind stick. The food alone is worth the stars, and the service warrants it even more. The girl taking the order is really nice, and she even apologized for her English. I'm been given many dirty looks for not being able to communicate in Spanish in Miami, so her gesture is really appreciated! We did apologize for our Spanish too, lol. So the food wasn't terrible but not great either. I was mostly surprised at them putting shredded cheddar cheese in a torta. I expected but this doesn't meld with the flavors if what a torta should be. The amount of actual meat was scarce, noticeably and unacceptably, in addition to lots of cartilage bites despite such little meat content. The bread was fresh and good and the red salsa on the table was nice. Service was also very quick I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Stopped by during lunch to check out the new spot next to Miami Dade College. When I walked in I was instantly greeted, and the girl behind the counter was attentive. Overall, I loved the vibe of the place. It felt very welcoming, and the colors just burst of energy. I ordered the following to-go: 2 Al Pastor tacos, Barbacoa Nachos and an Elote. The tacos were so good, I wish I had ordered two more. The nachos were huge and very filling! The chips had the perfect crunch. I would definitely order it again but with chicken next time. Elote was my least favorite. There was just too much mayo for my liking and it consumed the flavor the corn. Because I walked in without looking at the window, I missed the lunch special. The ambience of this place feels like your little local cantina, the service was super quick and helpful when ordering. They offer $2 tacos on tuesday! We end up ordering 24 tacos between el pastor, carnita and the arrachera. My fav was the al pastor even though all were packed with favor. I had a take out and the food was still fresh, it wasn't soggy or dried everything was separated as requested. The quality here has really declined in the last year. This used to be one of my favorite go to taco spots but unfortunately having more customers just means a decrease in quality. I came here in Saturday night. They had tables full and the outside too. I placed an order to go and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. 25 minutes later I walk back in to grab my order and it's still not ready. I had to wait another 5-10 minutes until my order was ready. When I check my order at home my tacos were empty. All they put was very little protein and some had very few onions and pineapple while others had literally nothing. I don't know how they serve tacos like that knowing someone will obviously see that before they eat it. I also had guacamole and chips. The guacamole was old and colorless. Everything was delicious. The meat in the tacos was so flavourful and it comes with cheese and onions. Sauces are very good specially the red one. Spicy and tangy. Drinks.... well.... only sodas or juice. I recommend ordering a couple of "toreados" if you like spicy food. (Spicy peppers) it will give it a nice kick without being overwhelmingly Spicy. Taco Tuesday was in full affect and I decided to try this place out as it was new a seemed to be a local favorite based on the reviews. It's a cool little place located across from Miami Dade college, next to Diced in Kendall and Sushi Sake. Decoration was pretty cool with the glass bottles on display. Food wise I have to admit I was disappointed. The reason for the 3 stars was due to the Elote corn.. that was great and I would have again, good combinations of sauces, cheese, lemon and good crunch. Birria Tacos were edible, meaning they had meat and were cheesy, and fresh. However weren't the best, I can't say I would order again. Now when it came to the taco, that was a big disappointment, it lacked flavor, and the meat was very chewy.. for a taco labeled Asada, you would hope to have steak packed with flavor, tender, especially when it was 3 ingredients : meat, guacamole and onions, and it was $4.50,overpriced and definitely not worth it. The tostada Al Pastor was part 2 when it came to lack of flavor, just had tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and they added Parmesan cheese. A tostada with Parmesan cheese for $6.24? Not even queso fresco. Sadly I can't say I would be coming back. I understand prices were higher nowadays, but definitely not worth the amount spent. After living in CA for several years I grew to learn and appreciate authentic Mexican food. Today, after at least a year of not having Mexican food bc I just don't think Miami truly has authentic Mexican food, the craving came over me. I went to another local spot but they're under renovations at the moment and sadness came over me. Fortunately, the Yelp! Gods looked out and I found this place. I got a little of everything as I wanted to formulate an honest opinion of the place. Gotta give it a solid 3 for the food. The location, place and staff were friendly but the food is what is loudest, as it should be. Price wise, I think they're fair. The carne asada really didn't do it for me. I'm not the most carnivorous person, however I know a good carne asada when I taste one. Was oily and lacked in flavor. The pollo tacos were good. Good flavor overall. The protein portions for both were great. The corn tortilla was sturdy as well, just wasn't a big fan. The quesadilla was ok. I got the carne asada and just didn't do it for it. My mom liked it but said it was just ok. Chicken tostada was actually really good. Was enough to share with two people. Fresh lettuce and tomato's and cheese. Good amount of chicken too. Solid choice. Chips and guac were a nice touch. The chips were too fried/oily for me, but the guac was very good. Very fresh with chunks of avocado. That's my kind of guac. And, good portion. Lastly, the Elote. I'm not the biggest elote fan but wanted to give it a go and it was good. Not overly saturated in mayo, cheese or tajin which was a win for me. Overall, good place. I only tried their tacos and I wasn't disappointed. Not mind blowing, but above average for Miami. I seek authentic tacos, as I'm not a fan of Americanized Mexican food. The thing I liked the most is their handmade tortillas. You'll have to oder at the counter and the servers aren't bad. They aren't warm and welcoming, but they aren't rude or dismissive either. The restaurant is small and no frills. The decor looks like they are advertising Jarriots (Mexican sodas) as they have entire wall wide displays filled with Jarrito bottles and as part of a painting on the wall. I guess they expect it to provide an authenticity vibe to the establishment. Asada tacos are currently $4.50 which in my opinion is a little high, Pastor is $3.50 and others are $3.00. Found this little gem on accident and was very satisfied! It a cute little spot near Miami Dade College serving up all things Mexican street food! The staff was very friendly and the place had a chill vibe. I ordered the Torta with the carne asada, the Esquites and an Limonada Agua Fresca. The Torta hit the spot and the meat was flavorful. The Esquites were tasty but just a little too much cheese for me. The Limonada was amazing and came with Tajin and Chamoy (yummmm). Before we left we had to try a carne asada and barbacoa taco. Both were great but the carne asada was my favorite! I'll have to come back to try the birria tacos - this was their recommendation. I order here at least once a week when the family is craving mexican food. Is all the food here 5 star, no. But the service is always on point and friendly. Aside from the service, what makes this place 5 star are the tacos Al Pastor and Sirloin which are each on trompo served on homemade tortillas, none of that prepackaged BS. The quesadillas are big and delicious. Their Agua Frescas and Mangonadas are also homemade. The Birria options, Elotes and Nachos are pretty great as well. I ordered takeout from here for a Friday night and I got a burrito and elote in a cup with an horchata. It was very good ! I would like to go to this restaurant and dine in one day to try more of what they have. So far I loved the burrito I ordered with some great tasting steak.
