Amazing love the service. Love the empanadas. Fish tacos were also good. Love how quickly they took my order and got it out for me.

I actually never saw that many seagulls in the city side. Parking is at Ralphs though I'm unsure if you could park there or not. There is a sign for parking for Ralphs only and several parkings are for teachers. Service and food are amazing though. The restaurant is very clean. The bathroom sink has the most narrow faucet ever. The faucet is 1 in above the sink so I don't know how people wash their hands. These are what we ordered 1 Plantain + Crab $20.00 - 3/5. I fried plantain is good with the little bit of crabs on the side. Dish is creative but overall not extraordinary. 1 Root Beer Braised Short Rib - $44.00 5/5 this is the most delicious and my favorite dish. The mashed potato is so creamy and beef is so soft. It is the most creamy and buttery mashed potato I've ever had. 1 Jollof Platter $28.00 + Berbere Shrimp $12.00 - 4/5. The spicy rice dish has enough moisture and dryness. The shrimp was grilled in creme sauce. 1 Garlic Noodle $22.00 2/5. It tastes like soy sauce noodles because I couldn't really taste the garlic part of it. 1 Plantain Sticky Cake $15.00 5/5 toffee pudding style and is amazing. Moist and creamy. Overall I would definitely come back. Service is outstanding and water is filled with bottle and we could constantly refill it.

Figured I'd give my money to a local spot rather than Ralph's and I'm happy I did. I first went to see how much amount of catfish cost to use as a point of reference. I ordered while walking out of the store and had time to get some egg rolls from Egg Roll Bae (that'll be another review). There's plenty on parking and the door was already open ( I hate touching surfaces unnecessarily). The inside is clean and I implore you to check out the dessert counter first. The cashier was helpful and let me pick out my dessert :). I ordered a pound of catfish and a piece of sweet potato butter cake. The fish was cooked perfectly and did not have that dirty fish taste that you get with some places. Who ever is picking the fish needs to keep doing it! It was also perfectly seasoned. That sweet potato butter cake was the perfect addition. It was an impulse buy I do not regret and thank you to the couple that was ahead of me and drew it to my attention. I will say that if you order your fish by the pound, just go ahead and buy a dinner. It's cheaper and you get sides and only about 3 fewer pieces of fish than if you buy a pound, you'll come out ahead. Overall, this may be my new fish spot when I'm heading home and don't want to cook.

It's been a minute since I've have had a seafood boil and man was this place was worth the wait!!…read more I came with a friend on a Wednesday night and thankfully it wasn't too busy. As for food we got the Combo 2 and our choices were shrimp, clams and snow crab. We went with the Torpedo sauce for our boil cause it was a mixture of all their other sauces (garlic butter, classic cajun and lemon pepper) and we got it at a medium spice level. And oh boy oh boy did it set our mouths on fire but in the best way possible!! The sauce was everything we wanted it to be, spicy, savory, garlicky, tangy and just pure indulgence. To calm the heat though we also got cajun fries, rice, Thai tea and Jasmine milk tea. Sharing a meal with a friend is always nice but sharing a meal with a friend here is great. I believe food is the ultimate uniter and I'm happy we chose to go here!! My one and only con is just the location because it was a bit sketchy especially at night but the food and service was so good I think it's still worth it to go.

The menu lists market price for their seafood, but nowhere to physically see the prices so you must ask the waiter. I ordered a pound of head on shrimp in spicy torpedo sauce (their house combination sauce) and some mild cajun fries for sharing. The shrimp was well cooked and a nice aroma of garlic lingered from the chunks of garlic visible in the sauce. The sauce had decently chunky bits which adhered to the shrimp well enough and was delicious with a nice kick of heat. The shrimp were less than fresh but perfectly palatable. The Cajun fries were lightly seasoned, with a crisp (but not too crunchy) coating, similar to the exterior of an onion ring. They were great for snacking and whetted my appetite well. All in the food was good, but I just wish the shrimp was fresher to lend some subtle sweetness and fresh feeling to the dish.

Mariscos Jaliscos is a simple, humble and easy going food truck that easily beats any sit in boujee restaurant. Their menu is simple and easy to understand. Mariscos Jalisco is best known for their Fried shrimp tacos however, they have one of the best aguachiles I've tasted hands down. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely amazing with the right crunchiness and soft fried shrimp inside. The sauce that comes with these tacos are jam packed with flavor adding to the overall flavors/texture of the shrimp taco. Hurts to say it but this might be my new favorite shrimp taco in ELA/Boyle Heights area. The service here is quick and friendly. I went on a Friday afternoon and did not find busy crowds at this food truck. Street parking is available and the times that i've visited other food trucks nearby i was able to find quick parking. Its a busy street so you will find people coming in and out of parking spots most of the time. I enjoyed my experience here at Mariscos Jalisco and will be coming back very soon.
