This is a pretty popular burger joint that's local. I've had many happy experiences here, when I've been previous times. Service was great, our server Haley did a great job. She was kind and informed us on their seasonal menu, and specials. The food was subpar when comparing to our previous experiences. To my knowledge they completely changed the kind of bread they use for the bun. It's as if they pulled the bun straight out of the plastic packaging and stuck it on the patty. The burger had nothing gourmet about it... I do always get the sweet potato fries and they didn't miss. They were perfectly crispy, you get a side of marshmallow sauce to dip them in too. So good! I don't think I'd come back to Jake's again for a burger. Unless they revert back to how they were originally making their food. This place is a great place for lunch and dinner, and they have Sunday brunch as well, the burgers are amazing. My recommendations would be the Jakes burger, the classic double, and the chicken fried bacon burger they also have amazing shakes and a great seasonal pie, the pumpkin pie Cheesecake. The ambience is great and the patio is amazing. It has six TVs amazing staff is very attentive and very friendly will visit more often. read more

Okay, let me just say that Jakes burgers are massive! Personally I am a big fan of the swiss mushroom burger....it's sooooo good. But the other day I opted to try the kick's chicken fried stake sandwich and OMG, I'm hooked! Foodies, it was amazing! It was so good I wouldn't even share a bite with my partner knowing he would pout for hours if I didn't share. But this sandwich was worth the quite rude room. The meat was tender and well seasoned and their batter has a little kick to it which filled my mouth with warmth and made my belly happy. It came with fresh cut French fries add a cold draft beer and you have a great meal! To prove how upset my dining partner was that I didn't share, he didn't take a single photo of my kick'n chicken sandwich.....but the jokes on him. Lunch for three around 1p. Stopped in here on a recommendation. Parking is private but not a lot of it. The lot is small. Greeted and seated immediately. Waitress came within seconds and introduced herself. Drink orders taken and o it promptly. Appetizer out just a few min later. Our burgers followed just as we finished the cheese curds. Friday lunch with the Bleu Bacon Burger. Wicked good!! Burger was bigger than I'd expected, in height and width. Had a really good flavor. Blue cheese wasn't to overpowering. Had the French fries with it. I have to say this was where it went bad. Fries were stale and barely room temperature. Was not very happy about that. Would have expected them to be nice and hot being there during the lunch hour rush. Beer was good and cold. Atmosphere wasn't to bad, loud music. For the life of me I can't understand why restaurants play music so loud you have to talk over it. Should be a subtle sound not to be battled with. Place was nice. This was a huge disappointment / burger with fries and a coffee was over $17!! The single patty was like a kiddie burger. Fries came out cold and burger was missing tomato and onion. The second batch of fries was floppy. Restaurant was short staffed and was not that busy. Market street for $7 gives you a full meal with thick delicious bacon. No I do not recommend . Love the poppy seed buns. Had a basic cheeseburger and it was good. Sometimes all you need is a burger and nothing fancy, it was just right. Sweet potatoes fries is a must, with ther marshmallow sauce. Only a four star because it wasn't that busy and we had feel like we had to wait a bit for food and drink refills, but unsure if they were short staffed or anything like that. I came here to grab a quick dinner while in a work trip in Mansfield. I sat at the bar. From what I observed there were quite a few regulars in that night since the bartender seems to know them by name and their usual drink order. Had the worst experience at this location. We came in and was told we had a 5 minute wait. Two other parties came after us and we were seated in order. We each ordered a burger (2) and a side of onion rings. It took us at least 45 minutes to get our food, mind you that by the time we got our food, the two parties that came after us had already gotten their food, and FINISHED it. Waiter came to inform us of the delay- completely understandable. Finally, another waiter came out with our food in hand, but stood there for a good 10 seconds at our table, joking and laughing with another co worker, instead of just placing our food down at the table. This minor incident could have been completely overlooked but not after the extensive wait. The worst part was the burger itself. I've been to Jake's before at two different locations and always had a good experience. These burgers we got here at Mansfield were cold, dry and flavorless. Easily one of the worst restaurant burgers we have had. Couldn't finish it, (which is saying a lot for me). Overall, it was super disappointing. I don't think I can return to Jake's for a long time after this, if not ever again. I am not one to leave negative reviews and I am very understanding to the circumstances, but this experience was all around negative, from the service, to the food. read more

Disappointed in this place. We came at 3:30pm after our daughter's cardiology appointment. They were not busy, yet it took almost ten minutes for a waitress to bring menus. The music was extremely loud, which is kind of ridiculous for the time of day and the lack of people (there were four people at the bar, we were the only people in the dining room eating). I'll start with the good... The loaded Jake's fries and margarita were my favorite! Jake's burger was good too. I got regular bun and it was flaky, similar to a croissant. Our server, Dru, was great. Now the bad... Thankfully I cut my burger in half or else I wouldn't have seen...a strand of hair! That's the worst when you're eating out, especially when the food is good. Total turn off!! However, Dru immediately got the manager and he immediately came over and offered another burger. I declined it and just asked for churros because my boys wanted them. Palmer was our waiter and she was very sweet and attentive. Everything about our order was correct. I told her to surprise me with a happy hour drink and she brought out a cosmo that was very good. The fried green beans are VERY good. Quest and chips are also VERY good. Great happy hour drink options (no happy hour appetizer). The only strange things about this restutant is the women's bathroom. It was very clean. There was no paper towels (no dispenser for the paper towels) and no hand blow dryer.
