5-19-2026. 18:30pm Went and ordered the wings that they are known for. Ordered full order bone in super-nuke with extra sauce. These are their specialty I might add. Ordered side of tots also. Wings were bone dry, 2 dry slices of habanero slices in basket, dry, and tots were undercooked and soggy. For some reason if you want wings with their specialty sauce, they are known for, you have to ask for extra sauce or they come dry. I will add there were 6 total customers in restaurant. Showed waitress. Said they would take back and have order remade and add sauce. I put $60 on bar to pay for my meal and left. I left without eating. Tried a couple tots but they were soggy and undercooked. A person should never have to ask for extra sauce on the item they are known for nor should a person have to have their whole order remade with 6 total customers in bar/restaurant. This is how the service is in that place. No1 cares about service or quality of food. If a place can't get the single item they are known for right with a total of 6 customers in establishment l, then I don't want a remade meal. Get it right the first time with that few customers or close the doors. read more

This place adds weight to the adage you can't judge a book by its cover. Doesn't look like much from the outside but once inside it opens up to warm and friendly atmosphere. Definitely, a place to come to with a group of friends if you're into sports. Food was good and decently priced. Service was friendly despite it being crazy busy when we went in. While this is standard "bar" food it is pretty good. The staff was great- provided us some fun and played along with all of our joking with each other. We had a group of 10 and they took great care of us. We ordered a whole lot of different stuff, including appetizers. The fried mushrooms were pretty good as were the fried pickles. No one complained about their food. I did order the Inferno Burger. It was pretty good, kind of a small patty and it was not hot, but had a good overall flavor. I won't lie, when I was told by a co worker while in the area for training that we should go to Jake's for dinner, I was skeptical given the outside appearance; I'll call it what it looks like, a dive bar. But some of the best places for food are the dives and or holes in the wall. Service was excellent. Food was surprisingly good (inferno burger and homemade fries). My only complaint was the fries seemed soggy; be that over cooked, undercooked, or old I'm not sure. Price was reasonable. Today I called in a pick up order and it was fulfilled by the owner of the establishment, Aaron. I was thinking due to the fact that this is the Owner of the establishment that he would take personal care and consideration of my order and boy was I wrong... When I opened the to-go box I picked up a French fry and it seriously, no joke dripped oil from the end of it, cold fryer oil. My chicken tenders were so grease soaked and slimed you that I tried breaking one in half to see if it was even cooked... it gets worse as the breading comes off of the chicken tender and I'm left with a slimy almost hard chicken tender. I cut it with a knife and it was like cutting a rubber tire would be easier. It was cooked alright but so inedible. I will never be back here. 23$ gone and I even gave a tip and didn't take a bite. I've been coming to this place for years and have had okay service. Always at least attempted to make my order right. I seriously feel as if the owner has fallen off pretty bad. Seems like he's doing some kind of drugs or something. If this is the care and consideration the OWNER takes then I can't imagine a line cook, or someone working the fryer. read more

I'm not sure why people love this restaurant so much. It's the closest one to my house and the only one really on the east side of town anymore with the pub closing. We always think how expensive big cities are, but there's something about the cost of living in this town of Pierre that seems off. In Rochester he and I ordered a giant bloody Mary which had a slider a few other frozen fried appetizers, and a cheese curd stacked on top of it on a skewer. The drink itself is loaded with vegetables. It was $15, factor that in as we discussed the total price of our meals still. I ordered a blonde ale, he had a mixed drink. Our bloody Mary came with a small beer back. We each ordered a burger and I did an upcharge for onion rings when he got french fries. This is for $60. We couldn't even finish our food nor i our drink as I had to drive. If you're from Pierre jakes is per usual. If you're not, I'd expect it wouldn't meet expectations. A lot of reviews talk about how long it takes, and I wont try to change that. It took us 45 minutes for two burgers and a kids chicken nugget. First, most of the stuff is frozen, which is sad. But, because it is, no excuses for how long it takes. Our waitress was a trooper though and did a group great job. Buffalo burger, while giving you the impression it is fresh, it is not. Bit was one of those pre formed odd shaped burger. The kind that want to give the impression someone in the kitchen pressed it. Don't believe it. I have never seen edges like that on on a real hand pressed burger. Lastly, if you are going to charge almost 8 bucks for fried cheese curds, make them fresh. How hard could it be. So for the location I would give it to an a half stars because the place needs a good cleaning and it's old and unkept. We sat at a booth and was given menus and my husband couldn't read the menu since it was so dark in there as he has eye problems so the darkness did not help. We did order and the food was good. The first time I went to this place it was ok. The food was decent and the staff was nice. The second time the staff was still nice but the food was lousy. The chicken salad i ordered was all iceberg lettuce, and not even the good parts. Like imagine an iceberg lettuce salad with all middle pieces and junk, with cold chicken. Seriously the worst salad I have ever had. I realize that us salad eaters are not the customers they care about most but come on, I am paying money here.
