After paying Costco Tires $56 to install and program a new set of TPMS sensors in my 2009 Kia…read moreBorregeo, the TPMS warning light was still on. They told me I needed to drive the car for 15 minutes or more at 30mph or more in order to "reset" the TPMS error lights. So, I drove it on the freeway to Coeur d' Alene and back (40 miles each way) and the TPMS warning lights didn't reset. So, after a little research, I downloaded and printed the TPMS reset procedure from Kia, and took it back to Costco Tire. The procedure I downloaded said to scan the TPMS sensors and then connect the scanner to the OBDII port to upload the sensor ID's to the car's computer. The Costco "technician" brought out a scan tool and scanned all 4 of the new TPMS sensors. I looked at tool they were using, which didn't have an OBDII cable to connect it to the car's computer. I asked the "technician" how he was going to upload the new TPMS sensors RFID's to the car's computer and he gave me a blank "deer in the headlights" look. I explained that scanning the RFID's of the new sensors was only the first step in the process, and that in order for the car's computer to recognize the scanned RFID's for the new sensors, he had to somehow upload the scanned RFID's of the new sensors to the car's computer. I asked him how he was going to accomplish that if his scanner couldn't be connected to the car's computer. Again, I got a blank look and he said "I don't know... our scanner works with the brand of TPMS sensors we sell, and we program the sensors before we install them in the tires." FWIW, that answer makes NO sense. The scanner has to connect with the computer in the car SOMEHOW to upload the RFID's of the sensors, or the car's computer ISN'T going to recognize the signals it receives from the new sensors. I tried to explain this concept to the Costco Tire "technician" a couple of different ways, but he just wasn't "getting it". So, at that point I gave up on trying to educate the Costco Tire "technicians" on how TPMS system technology works. I decided it was a waste of time and I left Costco. On my way home I decided to stop by the Tire O Rama on Sprague. When I walked in, I asked Josh, the guy at the counter "Do you have a TPMS scanner that can connect to the OBDII port of my car to upload the scanned RFID's of a new set of TPMS sensors?" His reply was "we sure do". I explained the issue I had with Costco Tire and he said "hang on, let me grab my scanner". After he retrieved the TPMS scan tool, Josh and I walked out to my Borrego, and he scanned all 4 TPMS sensors in under 2 minutes, and then he connected the scan tool to the OBDII port of my car. He pushed a couple of buttons on the scan tool, and within about 3 - 4 minutes he had uploaded the RFID's of the new TPMS sensors to the car's computer and also cleared the TPMS error codes to make the TPMS warning lights go out. I was VERY impressed. Josh obviously understood how a TPMS system works and what it takes to fix TPMS error codes. When I asked Josh "what do I owe you?" he said, "nothing, don't worry about it". What an INCREDIBLE customer service experience! Josh was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Give that young man a raise! I can guarantee you that I will NEVER go back to Costco Tire. From now on Tire O Rama will be my "go to" for tires or tire-related work or repairs!

My review of; Valvoline Instant Oil Change - 090065 4/30/2023…read more 2117 North Argonne Road, Spokane Valley, WA While many may think negatively of these quick oil change businesses, this review might change your mind. I was out of town visiting family when I noticed I was close to due on my oil change on my 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit RWD. I take almost religious care of my vehicle's maintenance. So, I pulled in to have the Oil and filter changed. They also suggested I do a fluid change on my transmission, (Which doing mental calculations, I knew it was also close) so I approved them to change the fluid. On the drive home I noticed that my car was shifting a little differently, but I figured it was the car's computer adjusting to the new fluid. The next day I drove to work and it was worse. I then drove home and it was much worse (Not shifting properly at all, slipping, no overdrive unless I shifted it into neutral and then back into Drive). Needless to say, I was unhappy to say the least. I contacted Valvoline Instant Oil Change Facebook page and left a message about what my "baby" was doing and how upset I was. (A new transmission would cost around $3500.00 plus labor to install). They replied back the next morning (Saturday) and were very sorry for what had happened and suggested I contact the shop I was at, which I did on my way to work, in my wife's 2016 Charger pursuit. I spoke with Josh, the manager of the location and discussed the problems I was having and how unhappy I was. He was very apologetic and reviewed all the cameras and said everything looked like it was done correctly but would come to my house to find out what was wrong. It should be noted again, I was out of town when I had the oil/fluid change done. I informed him where I live and he said he would call when he was headed my way (120 Miles away). I gave him my wife's phone number to coordinate everything as I was at work and would not be in the area. He called and let her know he was on the way. He arrived and worked on the issues. He spent approximately 2 to 3 hours at my house to fix the problems. Per Josh, "I have worked for Valvoline for 3 plus years, and by what you described I thought I knew what the issue was as I have seen it maybe 5 times before". My wife and Josh test drove the car after he had worked on it. They both believed the problem was solved but wanted me to drive the car to make sure it was right. I got home from a long day at work and didn't want to even try it as I figured, no it won't be right and now I have a battle to get it fixed. The next day, I drove it. I put it through its paces and it was 100%. My baby is back and I couldn't be happier. No shutter, no missed gears, no slipping, Transmission is running 20 degrees cooler than it was (If you know anything about automatic transmissions, heat kills). I willfully give a 6 out of 5-star rating for Valvoline Instant Oil Change, 2117 North Argonne Road, Spokane Valley, Washington. To have a manager drive 120 miles one way on a Saturday to address the issues with a customer's vehicle is something rarely seen anymore. I commend, Joshua on his knowledge and customer service. This is a trait rarely seen anymore and is a credit and a spokesman to true professionalism in running a business that takes care of their customers. I would not hesitate taking any of my vehicles to that shop and have also informed my family and friends to use that shop. Lastly, I would also suggest the owner/franchise owner to recognize Josh for his dedication to doing a job well done and going the extra 120 miles to make sure the customer is taken care of. Signed, Allen Gemmrig Trucking Superintendent Selkirk Sealcoat Inc.

It only happened after I got a oil change through them so I'm not sure what they did to it or if something may have happened on its own but the guy was very rude and dismissive either way. I will never go back there and would rather pay a little extra for kind service of people who actually know what they are doing!
