DO NOT GO TO JAIN FAMILY DENTAL CENTER! Six months ago I was new to the area and looking for a dentist with weekend hours that accepted delta dental insurance, which Jain family did. The first visit was unpleasant; he dentist looked at me for about 2 minutes then the assistant proceeded to clean my teeth. It was obvious that she was inexperienced, and she did a poor job. Today, for reasons I still don't fully understand, I returned for my 6 month checkup. This time it was Dr. Jain that did my teeth. Let me rewind just a little bit. There was no confirmation call so, I called this morning to confirm and they had lost my previous appointment but told me to come in anyway (Lost my appointment - strike 1). I got there at 8:50 for a 9:00am checkup. His assistant arrived at 8:55 and was locked out. At 9:01 Dr. Jain pulled up in his Mercedes, and unlocks the office doors, me and another patient then wait in the waiting area in the dark for 5 minutes until the assistant returned from changing into scrubs in the public bathroom and had the common sense to turn the lights on (Being late and making your patient's wait in the dark - strike 2). So I wait another 5 minutes before being taken back and waiting 10 more minutes in the chair. It's now 9:20, before Dr. Jain comes to talk a look at me. He asks me "Are you holding your teeth all very well" I work in health care and that question does not address any oral health issues besides lost or loose teeth, but with that the patient interview was over (Not knowing how to create a meaningful dialog with patient's - strike 3). He stood on my right side but had to keep reaching over to my left side, so he would lean over me and his sweater would literally be in my face. Next, he started cleaning my teeth with a vibrating pick with a tiny high pressure water jet at the tip. He proceeds to jam this device into my gum lines, and IT HURT! I've had my teeth cleaned very 6 months since I can remember. I brush my teeth twice every day and floss, I've only had 2 or 3 tiny cavities my whole life, and I don't have sensitive teeth. I know that a routine cleaning should NOT be this painful. I told him to stop and use some other tool to clean my teeth, I was thinking he would continue with a regular pick. Instead, he started with the rotating brush tool to polish my teeth - who knows if he actually finished removing the tartar buildup from my teeth. Afterwards my face was covered with tooth polishing paste, because he did not wipe it off after finishing. Then he proceeded to talk down to me about the sensations I was feeling and the importance of removing tartar (Doing a poor job and arguing with his patient - Strike 4, and that's to many strikes!). When he was all finished, I told him that I've had cleanings every 6 months of my life and that his was the worst I've ever had, and that I will never come back. I hope the other two patients in there also heard the conversation and will think about taking their business elsewhere because it can only get better.
