Wow - I had two root canals that needed to be done and they both happen to be above a bridge of teeth. The bridge was old and vulnerable, I was worried and asked Dr Gilbert if he could do the root canal surgery by going through my gum instead of the teeth in the bridge. That is exactly what he did, a very intensive procedure he handled with total precision. I felt no pain at any time. The doctor even had the latest equipment to control the speed/flow of my Novocaine injections so they would not hurt. First and foremost Dr. Gilbert does an AMAZING job. He's very kind and compassionate, he makes you laugh and keeps the atmosphere light and easy through a difficult procedure. Excellent Service, Professional Care, and a Great Follow up !! I visited Dr. Gilbert in March. I was concerned visiting a medical professional during the pandemic. Just began an emergency root canal here with Dr. Gilbert. His office squeezed me in- I was throwing up at work due to the intense pain, and they were booked all afternoon. Boy am I glad they did! I'm already feeling much better! Dr. Gilbert was very personable and explained everything nicely before he began working. I must've been a mess, and I know it's really hard to be put at ease when in that much pain, but he did. The office is very lovely and relaxing. I didn't get much attitude from the front desk or from his assistants. As someone who is (for some unknown reason) terrified of dentists and the like, I did not feel too anxious here, which is a big plus. Dr. King has been doing my family's root canals for some time. Not only is he good at it, but he is also very personable and explains everything. His costs are pretty much average for this type of work. The office is nice, his staff is friendly, and there is very convenient parking. I was referred to King Endodontics by my dentist for a root canal. I was very nervous as I did not know what to expect. Dr. Gilbert was so kind and patient with me. He put me at ease immediately and continued to treat me with compassion until the moment I left. I was very impressed by how comfortable he was able to make me feel given how nervous I was. The root canal was quick and painless. The receptionist was kind enough to give me a second packet of Ibuprofen& Tylenol to take later in the day, once she found out I was going straight to work. Dr Gilbert is absolutely THE BEST at what he does!! I've had two root canals in my lifetime. The first done at another location by another dentist was nothing short of horrible. Pain! Horrible pain!! So, when I was told that I would need a second root canals a few years later, I just about died. Fortunately, they referred me to King Endodontics. Dr Gilbert talked to me for a bit before beginning the procedure, listened to my concerns, and reassured me he would take the best care of me. My procedure was done in two sessions. I discovered during a crown replacement at my General Dentist's office that I had an issue underneath the crown. After a traumatic experience in the dentist chair, my dentist and I agreed that a root canal was needed before the permanent crown was installed. I have a long, unfortunate history of dental problems - including more root canals than I care to recall. Brett Gilbert is hands-down the best endodontist I've ever encountered. In fact, I honestly believe he may be the best DENTAL practitioner around, period. He's that outstanding. To begin with, he is innately kind - with a gentle, easygoing manner. Anyone who's in pain - and perhaps apprehensive just sitting in a dental chair will understand that this is no small thing. He immediately puts you at ease. While he's confident in his ability, there isn't a hint of arrogance or ego about him. I'm not always the easiest person to anesthetize, but Dr. Gilbert is remarkably skilled in giving painless, 'on target' injections. I usually need far less anesthetic when he's treating me. I've half- jokingly asked him if he'd consider injecting me when I need work to be done by other dentists. Honestly, he's that good. Although I've had problems with root canals over the years, I know that (even in a worst case scenario), I have the best chance of a successful outcome with Dr. Gilbert. Price-wise, the fees certainly aren't cheap, but I think they're in line with other endodontists in the area. Regardless, you're not going to find a better endodontist in the Chicagoland area, so it's money well spent. (Don't be put off by the strip mall location.
