Memorial Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

I was having a bad toothache along with jaw pain (I feared that one of my tooth needed to be pulled…read moreand/or was infected/inflamed somehow). Went to my general dentist on Tuesday (11/28/23 at 12pm) who confirmed everything I thought and they referred me to this office (per my dentist I needed a emergent tooth extraction done). I called this office same day around 2:30pm or so, and long story short I was booked for a emergent tooth extraction 2 days later on Thursday. Pre-oral surgery: Now I am hella nervous (I'm typically with doctor's appointments but dentist's appointments I'm freaking out. Something about any type of metal tool item in my mouth that does it for me). Anywho, I was instructions of what to do via text message (I.e no eating/drinking 8 hours before the timeframe and to bring along another driver over the age of 18) and all instructions followed to a "T". During: On, Thursday 11/30/23; I arrived for my appointment at 10:30am for 11:00am appointment to be on the safe side. Insurance was verified and paperwork signed. Dr. Michael went over everything in about 10 minutes, and the doctor explained it would be localized rather than general anesthesia. I said okay, and I was in the surgery room for like 30 minutes; localized anesthesia given, expected cracking of the tooth occurred, doctored irrigated the area to cleansed the wound of infection, viola the area was sutured and I was done (all under an 1 hour. Honestly fastest and pain free appointment ever. I was shocked). After: the pain is minimal and just taking the doctor's orders if alternating between Tynelol and Ibuprofen. P.S. the customer service was awesome. I can really tell the staff and the doctor cares. Doctor actually checked up on me, the day after and I was like so surprised (what doctor does that, besides a PCP perhaps??? This doctor has very good bedside manner). They gained a client like forever, but I did tell them that hopefully I won't need their tooth extracting services anytime soon cause I like my natural teeth. I will however be back for a dental implant. Verdict: 5/5 stars. I honestly have no complaints. Coke here, if you need a very good oral surgeon.

My dentist referred me to Memorial and my initial visit was great from the reception to Dr…read more O'Shell's team. The decision was to remove the wisdom tooth and again they were on time and it was seamless. They were absolutely amazing and would refer anyone I know to them. I want to thank the team.

The type of care they give is pain management. They are amazing like they find out what is going on with you they help you they put you on a treatment just for you, please whatever you do when you walk into their office and say hello and how calm the environment is I love them all. I love my Dr.

I'm not a patient of Dr. Sobarzo, my husband is. Honestly if it's me I would not take him as my…read moredoctor because of our different in opinion about pain. For me pain is something personal and can't be quantified by any doctor, only you as a person can. It won't even be proven by advance tests like MRI or CT scans. This is what he said " your husband's pain is valid because it shows in his Ct scan" . He put my husband on tramadol q 6 hours as needed and 800 mgs of Ibuprofen's every 8 hours for many months now and still not sufficient to control his pain. Every time my husband ran out of tramadol before his monthly appointment for refills. I'm scared that the ibuprofen will damage my husband's kidneys in the near future. In addition to all these medications, my husband takes gabapentin 600 mgs every 8 hours. And with all these medications and other conditions , I can feel his frustrations. I have compassion for my husband because I deal with pain myself. And I know when you're in pain , and it's more painful when nobody understands your pain. I always call the office and receive calls from the office. I recently spoke with a rude receptionist and I should have taken her name so I can put it in this review. She said " you have to pay the office 175.00 dollars or your husband won't be seen by Dr. Sobarzo , you all have the responsibility to communicate with your insurance company " really! How could she even say that. We had contacted our insurance ahead of time and let them know our doctors of choice. It's not that we didn't do our part! They also ban me to call the office because they said that I was rude??? I always believed that customers are always right! If you don't have the patience to talk to people and understand their situations, you need not to work as a receptionist. Don't label me as rude because I'm only speaking for my husband. I don't want to put down a business specially a healthcare business but I'm just trying to relay my experience. I hope and believe that Dr. Sobarzo doesn't take this against my husband. I do acknowledge that my husband likes him as his doctor. So my fear came true. Dr. Sobarzo fired my husband as his patient because of my telephone conversation which was rude according to the phone receptionist. As far as I knew I never exhibited a disruptive behavior at their office, it was only through phone conversations. Dr. Sobarzo was liked by my husband. He said he was a good listener and has a good bedside manner. And he wants to thank Dr. Sobarzo for taking care of his pain and medications for the past month.
