I've been here twice with my mom. Her doctor is Dr Vivian and I really just hate coming here. The wait times are ridiculous. We are currently freezing in the examination room for 45 mins and no doctor. This is after waiting 30 minutes in front waiting area. I went out to ask what is the hold up and the assistant stated she needed 10 minutes to give me status!? Avoid this place if you can. I'm going to find my mom a different gastro, if you can't control your schedule I doubt you can keep up if time sensitive treatment comes up. Not a fan and will avoid this place. Update: We waited for about an hour in the room for the doctor. No doctor ever showed up. No apology for time wasted and complete disregard for the patient. I'm glad I went with my mom, she is the type of person who would just have waited hours on end. We are paying these doctors for service and they owe you respect for your time. At least they gave her a refund for her copayment. 0 stars and never again. read more

15 April 24 I failed to read the reviews on yelp before scheduling my appointment. If I had I would have selected another provider. I was already disappointed that I would see a PA and not a MD. What a shame you have to pay a copay before your visit or I would have walked out. Upon arrival, there was 6 people ahead of me and they had been waiting over one hour. I was on time for my 3:30 appointment and the office closes at 5pm. What are the odds, we will all be seen before closing ?????? This is absolutely unnecessary. I do not recommend this office at all. As of 3:54 pm I'm still waiting to be seen and the staff hasn't responded to my text nor have they apologized or explained the delay. I will update my experience with the PA read more

I have hesitated to write a review in the past, but after the continued issues I felt like it was justified. The last two appointments I've had at Zazen, I have arrived 10 min prior to my appointment. The front desk staff member has never gone out of her way to make me feel welcome. Asks for payment and let's me know I'm checked in. I guess it could be worse... The back office staff have always been pleasant and super helpful. No complaints. The wait time is insane. My appointment was at 2:15. Called back to the room around 2:30 and now going on 40 min and have yet to be seen. I have seen a PA on two separate occasions and they both have left the practice since then. I have seen Dr. V a handful of times. Very nice and communication is great but something needs to change with the wait time for appointments. I dread having to go due to the wait times and the front desk staff could be a touch more friendly an inviting. read more

Worst care ever! Don't expect help in an emergency situation. Won't tell you the truth. Very uncaring! Horrible staff. Rude and short with everyone. Witnessed so much incompetence and rudeness. Truly a shit show. Where do I begin, my wife has been to two appointments here, one with the PA and one with Dr Radha. The PA visit was almost entirely worthless with my wife being given several take home lab test to be completed but she was also told she should get an allergy test. She was also sent out for some blood work. We have comparatively high end PPO insurance and somehow we were still told the allergy test wasn't covered at all and would be over $200. We were told a few days later that WE needed to pick up a printed copy of the bloodwork results and bring it to the office. Apparently there was something wrong with the fax machine and there was no other way to get the blood work results. Fast forward to the recommended ct lab not being able to get the contrast dye into my wife ( they did manage to blow out a vein in my wife's arm, then they told her to go somewhere else) and my wife goes in to see Dr Radha. The front office apparently didn't put the lab results in the correct file, despite my wife name being clearly printed on the fron of the dealer envelope. So my wife then had to facilitate communication between the front office and the Dr to get the blood work results. She's then then sent home with a completely different set of take home lab tests and is told the PA got the pricing wrong for the allergy test and it's only $35. She was also told by the DR that WE need to call the insurance and ask them to cover the lab tests. I don't know about you but I've never had a DR fail to convince the insurance to cover something and then tell ME to do their job and convince the insurance to cover it. I called our insurance to ask for the tests to be covered and they were completely baffled as to why we had been asked to do that, plus they needed some sort of medical reasoning in order to be able to cover the tests. Seeing as I'm not the DR that ordered them, I have no clue as to how to explain to the insurance why these tests should be covered. My wife goes in a week later for the $35 allergy test and is then told she has to sign a statement that the $35 allergy test is actually $35 for the office "work" and over $200 for the actual lab testing. Obviously we passed on that option. I don't know why they are pushing an allergy test that they can't convince a PPO insurance to cover. But it certainly feels like bait and switch. I've never encountered such an unorganized, disconnected and generally incompetent medical office in my life. Go elsewhere, anywhere else!!!! read more

While my experiences have been fine in the medical office. The surgery center did my colonoscopy. i had everything preauthorized with my insurance company. They are in network. I was told I had no out of pocket cost by the Surgery center. Today I see they used an 3 party anesthesiologist that is out of my insurance network and billed them $7200 for a 15 minute procedure . I will be filing a complaint with the state agency that regulates medical facilities. I could have gone to Memorial Herman and paid cash with no insurance for less than half what they billed. This is completely shameful and predatory practice. read more

UPDATE: After finally obtaining a follow-up appointment, the specialist that I just spent months waiting for appointments and hundreds of dollars to try to get a diagnosis to a problem I have been dealing with for a very long time, thought it was appropriate to bring a pseudo-science "provider" in during my appointment. After a lot of "I don't know's" from the specialist, I was only given a "probable" cause and told I should follow the phony doctor's advice and eat a friggin' plant. No other recommended treatment or testing. I am so supposed to eat a mother friggin' plant. I am so angry and feel so betrayed by this entire medical practice. I came looking for science-based, evidence-based and peer-reviewed medical expertise and instead I get a witch-doctor's advice. A complete and total waste of another $50 copay to this practice. I will definitely be reporting this experience to the medical board. Please stay away from these quacks. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Awful experience - unorganized, unresponsive and detached. From beginning to end my experience with Dr. Tamerisa's office has been horrible. There is is just so much wrong with this practice. Before they even considered giving me an appointment, I had to agree to release my personal medical information to them to review prior to approving an appointment. This definitely raised a red flag and screamed of discrimination, but this doctor was recommend by another specialist. For my first appointment, I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early...which I did. I was then kept waiting for over an hour. I finally had to tell them I needed to be seen immediately or I would have to just leave in order to pick up my kids from school. They finally took me back a few minutes later. The initial consultation with the PA was good. I felt heard and that she took my concerns seriously. The doctor came in for maybe 5 minutes, I repeated what I told the PA and we agreed on a diagnostic procedure. I made the appointment for the procedure, I had to wait 2 months, but it was scheduled. 3 days before my appointment, the hospital where I was scheduled to have it called and told me my insurance didn't cover the procedure at that particular hospital and that it should have been verified by my doctor's office at the time it was scheduled. Needless to say, I was not happy. I called Dr. Tamerisa's office, they agreed it should have been verified before-hand, but they didn't have an availability for the hospital my insurance did cover until after the New Year. I actually had to explain how I should not have to wait another several months in discomfort with a condition that was becoming worse because of their inability to perform basic responsibilities. When they called back they were able to "squeeze" me in 2.5 weeks later. You would think that everything would go smoothly after that. Nope. A few days prior to go-time, I received a call from the hospital going over the procedure and how to prep for it but I was told I would need to call the doctor's office for the actual time. I sent the doctor's office a message, and of course, no response. So I call, and they tell me...get this...call the hospital. My patience is thin at this point and tell them what the hospital said, as well as, explain how my confidence in this medical practice is all but gone due to their disorganization and lack of concern for their patients. Since I have to prep for the procedure, I have to know what time and and I needed to know immediately. Low and behold, I not only receive a phone call but also a response to my initial message with the time. Fast forward to after the procedure; I send a message to make the follow-up appointment so I am seen in 5 days as directed. Of course, no response, so I call almost 2 days later. I'm told that I they are waiting for permission from the doctor to "squeeze" me in again. My patience is now gone, I've already received a message from the hospital that pathology results are in so I ask for a call back that day with an appointment or a call from the doctor or her PA to give me the results of my pathology report at the very least. And you know what? You guessed it, nothing. Yet again, the following week I am messaging and following up with phone calls with still no appointment, no test results, and no plan of care. And to top it off, I have to find another specialist to do this all over again because I don't trust that my health is in good hands here. If you like being ignored or chasing down information from an unorganized medical office that should be provided within a reasonable amount of time, this is the practice for you. I like my doctor, but the wait times are way too long. I am here right now for my 11:30 follow up appointment and don't have to worry about any paperwork. However, I am sitting here in my room at 12:15 with no sign of seeing the doctor. I am swamped at work right now and just don't have time to sit here doing nothing. I really wish things would move quicker to get me out of here and on my way. All in all, my short follow up appointment will take over an hour, not to mention the drive. This brings my review down from 5 to 3 stars. Otherwise, the office is clean and people seem nice. read more

Compassionate and caring, from the team member answering the phone, Bianca at check-in, Sandra who checks my vitals, to Mashal booking the procedures- everybody in the group works together to make one's visit as easy as possible. Everyone in this office is top notch. Staff returns calls as they say they will. When out of town recently and my husband became ill and hospitalized, I communicated with the office via the patient portal, letting them know what the doctors were suggesting as far as follow up testing. The office staff and doctor started on the referral and told us what the next steps would be. I love the fact that everyone had such concern for my husband well being. Thank you Dr. Asamoah, Bianca, Sandra and the PA (Donna) we saw today. read more

The gastroenterologist I saw is unfamiliar with basic medical concepts. She isn't familiar with treatment of IBS and prescribed antibiotics because she didn't know any better. IBS is a condition that is a miscommunication between the gut and brain and is not due to bacterial infection and can't be treated with antibiotics. I'm not sure if she knows this or not but she got very defensive and frustrated when I asked her to explain her reasoning. Second she diagnosed me with "leaky gut syndrome" This was a huge red flag as intestinal permeability is a result of normal processes of inflammation and routinely seen in patients with IBS, IBD and other disorders that cause G.I inflammation. Leaky gut is not recognized by mainstream medical professionals as a disease but rather a normal symptom of inflammation. Besides that, the earliest she could schedule me for a follow up was three months out in which time my symptoms worsened and I had no treatment plan. Then after a month of waiting her secretary called to let me know that the Dr. "doesn't like working Saturdays" Maybe she should have thought about that a month ago when she scheduled me in. I showed up for my appointment ten minutes late due to transportation issues (I was coming out of state). This was not an issue as the doctor was an hour late. She lacks professionality. I sent her the forms for disability accommodations related to my IBS (I have severe symptoms due to a lack of medical treatment). After one week I contacted the office asking what happened and they immediately emailed back the forms. Every other word was misspelled. This doctor wasted my time. I spent months waiting for appointments and received a hare-brained diagnosis and treatment plan and a lack of respect for me and my time. In this time I could have seen a different doctor and received treatment. Instead my symptoms worsened and significantly impacted my life. That being said the office staff and everyone who works there is polite and friendly, even the doctor. read more
