Growing up in a family of physicians and now working as a healthcare professional in medical…read morerehabilitation, I have alway been skeptical about alternative treatment. My father, an internal medicine doctor who was also trained in acupuncture, had put me under his Chinese needles for chronic tendonitis and carpel tunnel syndrome but the experience was more traumatic and painful than helpful. I hate needles. As an avid rock climber and ice climber, I was debilitated by a mysterious neck / shoulder injury which rendered muscle relaxer and prescription pain killers useless. Yuliya was then referred to me as a physical therapist and specialist trained with Zero Balancing technique, so I thought I'd give it a try, since the pain couldn't have gotten any worse. I was at my wit's end. The procedure was straight forward. Treatment involved assessment by client self report, evaluation by eastern medicine approach such as pulse reading / touching, and sometimes tongue reading. After assessment, Yuliya released lactic acid buildup by trigger points and instructed me with breathing technique. After the needles she performed Zero Balancing. In the second session she performed an authentic Gua-Sha on problem area. What I didn't expect was a spiritual and life changing experience of freedom and enlightenment instantaneously as a result of the first treatment session with Yuliya. It was better than a deep tissue massage or the time when I felt "high" from post-yoga bliss. The sensation can best be described as relaxed, enhanced, focused, highly aware and sensitive, fearless, elevated, accepting, grounded, centered and weightless. My mind and body felt like the part of the universe but vividly exist and alive. I felt like a celestial being at times as the effect of treatment continued to manifest in release of toxin, in improved gait, improved posture, improved perception and pimples for a week post treatment. The reason that made me write this long review on Yuliya is apparent. Her treatment is highly effective and non-abrasive. The effect is noticeable and long-lasting physically and psychologically, and her holistic approach makes me realize what a true "healer" is. Yuliya is experienced enough to predict the soreness of muscles and making recommendation to address the release of toxin to prolong the effect of treatment. The benefit of Yuliya's session can be described similar to a combination of physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, body alignment ( in the same league of Alexander technique / Feldenkrais technique), yoga, and psychotherapy. I highly recommend Yuliya for muscle, tendon and ligament related pain and injury, as well as overall fine tuning of wellness and in prevention of seasonal ailment. Anyone with chronic migraine, muscle and joint pain, chronic fatigue, depression, and anyone who regularly engages in outdoor or recreation sports will benefit from individual sessions with Yuliya.

Yuliya is an amazing healer of body, mind and spirit. I would recommend her to anyone.read more

The therapist were than happy with listening to my background and planning my future after hip replacement. I never felt alone and "just do it attitude by yourself and be back in a few minutes" never happened. My therapist never left me alone to ensure my therapy was done in the highest standards. From the moment you enter the office, Arlene was friendly and more the willing to help in any way, I had called on a Saturday at 1pm and the receptionist answered my main concerns and that is so important to me. Now the therapist Demetrios was fantastic, listening and moving in the correct direction, he gave me a comfort level I felt several years ago in all aspects of recovery I needed. Shirley Lee is also special therapist in setting the bar you thought you couldn't go, so fortunate to listen to friends and their recommendations. Another therapist Marcello kept me in line also, reassuring me watching over his time with me Just a moving forward program from the Sarrica Physical Therapy Group has been very fortunate for me.

They are not only the best group of physical therapists I have ever come across, but they are a lot of fun to be around. When common methods don't work, they work hard to come up with new (and sometimes entertaining) ideas to help you get better. I have recommended multiple people come here. They have already helped me get back onto mat faster than anyone expected. I have another surgery coming up and I plan on going back there to recover. The only negative is that one of the women who works the front desk is a pain to deal with. But you don't go there to deal with the people at the front desk, you go there for therapy. And since the therapists Gene adn Steve are top notch, problem solved.

When I spoke to Olga at the front desk she told me without hesitation that they took my insurance. Fast forward 2 weeks, I get authorization to begin PT, I take off of work to go to my first session and come to find out that this doctor is not in network. The lady at the front desk was not very nice or understanding to begin with, and frankly am glad that they don't take my insurance because I don't know if I could see her 3 times a week. Sorry, but be more respectful to your customers and don't answer questions that you don't know the answers to.

The person at the desk seemed very kind while answering my questions and gave me the information I needed. I made my appointment for after the winter break since I would have the kids home. When I came for my first appointment in January 2022, Dr. Chris (who is the same person I initially met) listened to my ailments and explained clearly the process we would do to get rid of my back pain. I've been coming for 3 months now and do feel a lot better. I'm doing minor exercises to strengthen my back. I love the TENS, a massage, and some vibrating machine he uses to finish relaxing the back muscles! Dr. Chris is very professional, he listens, and does not talk condensendingly as some doctors do. He is flexible with the schedule. He's available in Brooklyn on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after 10:30. The facility is kept clean. It is small but even when he has a couple clients at the same time, everyone is kept in their own "room". I would recommend Dr. Chris and Phoenix Physical Therapy Rehab.
