Absolutely top 2 best coffee places in the capital region. Coming from Seattle, where every block has at least two cafe's, I've been waiting for a place like this to open in upstate New York. Something unique, delicious, and intriguing. Not only is their coffee of the highest quality, but they also have amazing scratch made seasonal drinks like their horchata latte. You can tell that Jacob and Alejandro have put their heart and soul into their work. Jacob's baked goods are also unbelievable to look at and even better to eat. read more

They've done a great job with this coffee shop! Their coffee is delicious, they make all of their treats in-house, and they have great seating options (inside and out). It's fun to sit at their tables in the alleyway (which has been cleaned up tremendously and brought to life). Finally, they have dairy free and gluten free options, which is always a plus! Job well done! #downtowntroy read more

Jacob Alejandro - Nitro cold brew and MWG almond chocolate cupcake! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Troy, New York

Coffee was very good. More expensive than in Ohio- oat milk latte was 6.75! Service was fast but not as friendly as it could be. Nice music and comfortable chairs. Lots of difference house made pastries available. They have a variety of unusual coffee drinks including a watermelon tonic with espresso. Great place for an excellent latte. Relatively quiet at 8 am. read more

Love the interior design with the rich deep blue colors. The vibe of the cafe is a combination of it being very fancy but also relaxed and chill. I enjoyed my lattes and cappuccinos but sometimes the espresso flavor gets lost. It is also on the pricier side. They have a few tables for it to be a great place to catch up with family/friends or enjoy some time alone. read more

A solid latte, friendly staff and wonderful ambiance, what more could you want. So happy I found this place while in town.

Boyfie said Jacob Alejandro was one of his favorite coffee shops near Albany, so of course I asked him to bring me here while I was in town! I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their drinks. I felt that their menu was very carefully and thoughtfully curated to include a variety of traditional and more innovative drinks (think tiramisu latte and strawberry milk cold brew!) I opted for a hot matcha latte with their homemade almond milk, and I could definitely taste the difference between their almond milk and my usual almond milk of choice (which is Califia). Even when I asked for my latte to be unsweetened as well, the sweetness from the almond milk complemented the matcha nicely. This was - surprisingly - one of the more memorable matcha lattes I've tasted (aside from Cha Cha Matcha's, which is my all-time favorite). Admittedly, while I was spending over a week in Albany, it was hard to find places I'd like. But Jacob Alejandro proved to be a standout. read more

Beautiful coffee shop with creative options. I had a matcha paradise drink - it was great! Love the beautiful historic building the shop is located in and the gorgeous interior design and stained glass windows. Baristas were friendly and helpful. Definitely a must visit! read more

Amazing cold brew w some fun flavors like pbj, toffee coffee, strawberry milk. Very calm and soothing and accepting atmosphere!

Perfect place in the morning to grab a coffee! Love seeing places like this popping up in downtown Troy. I used to trade coffee, so I can be a bit of a snob. Highlights worth noting: - I had an oat milk flat white and it was on point. - Service was patient and friendly. - Their scones were so moist and fluffy! - Seating outside to enjoy the coffee was a treat. read more

Jacob Alejandro is the go to cafe in Troy and Albany as a whole. The cold brew is fantastic, especially the strawberry oat milk cold brew. I always love any of their many matcha creations too! They're always kind despite the long lines they can have, and their food always is a delight. Can't recommend it more! read more

Jacob Alejandro - Strawberry Milk Cold Brew - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Troy, New York

The prices, attitudes, demeanor, and flavor of this place (literally and figuratively) lead me to this 2 star rating. I get that you make your own almond milk, that's dedication to quality, but the coffee beans are extremely bitter and strong for my pallet. no matter what milk or flavoring I get, I always regret not getting Starbucks. There is so much potential here. But I will no longer be trying to convince myself of its worth because consistently the attitudes of the workers, as well as the hefty $12 price tag for TWO SUBPAR coffees in TROY NEW YORK is not worth it. Not in any world. It's extremely clean and great ambiance / vibe. Their hours could be better, coffee shops in Europe are open past 3:00pm y'all. Europe is known For their accessible coffee shops and to close so early in such a popping area, not living out your values of embodying a European coffee shop, is , well , a disgrace. I get where you're going though. I wish this place luck in the future to get it together because it's truly in a fantastic location. And Jacob and Alejandro are adorable !! Anyways, better off going to superior merchandise two streets over for a $7 latte that actually tastes decent and they are nicer there. read more

Jacob Alejandro - This is an almond milk cream brûlée late. "Large" although it's like 6 oz. And $7. Save your money - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Troy, New York

We made sure to take a stop in downtown Troy to get some good coffee while we were in town--and we were not disappointed! It's in a great little spot with a fantastic atmosphere! The baristas were very friendly & welcomed questions. I usually just do a coffee with cream & a little sugar but, I settled on a Fruition Mocha as a drink, which was absolutely lovely! The mocha was delicious & rich in flavor without being overly sweet. I was quite pleased with my choice! We got to-go cups that came with stickers over the hole in the cover that were both creative & practical! The sticker allowed us to cover our coffee when we weren't drinking to safely enter other shops & peruse! We immediately texted friends to try this shop the next time they were downtown! read more

Happened upon this quaint cafe on a whim, but this is probably the best coffee I've ever had. I try to get a new latte flavor each time I visit, but my favorite so far has to be their creme brulee latte or their seasonal candied lemon crepe latte. Both were delicious and the sweetness balanced out the typical bitterness of the espresso. Service is fast and friendly, will definitely come back! read more

The coffee and food were tasty; the staff, pleasant and helpful; and the seating area -- very nice! I headed to the restroom before leaving, and was pleased to find a spotless, well-designed bathroom. I look forward to returning, especially when it gets warmer so that I can have a beverage while sitting outside the shop. :-) read more

I finally made it into Jacob Alejandro! I had the matcha latte with almond milk, which is my favorite thing to order at a cafe, period. It was delicious and had a cute heart shape in the foam. My friend ordered a strawberry cold brew (excuse me?) and I was curious about the green chai latte (it's a chai latte made with green tea instead of black). I am definitely trying the green chai next. The atmosphere is lovely - dark teal walls with gold accents and plants everywhere. There are plenty of places to sit and it's set up so it feels very intimate. The layout makes the space seem much larger than it really is and eliminates awkward crowding. I heard that the founders were originally trained by Hernan at Alias, so I knew this spot had to be good and it exceeded my expectations. Prices are on par with every other cafe in Troy (pricey but worth it) and the staff was over the top kind and friendly. I felt welcome. Can't wait to come back! read more

Delicious coffee, espresso, and cappuccino beverages in the Capital District. Jacob offers a variety of freshly baked treats (scones, cookies, tarts, etc) to accompany your beverage. The laid-back atmosphere offers free wifi and comfortable seating (indoors and outside during the summer months) which is warm and inviting. It's my new coffee "hang out" when I'm in Troy. read more

my family and i walked in since we were at the troy farmer's market. it was very busy but we were able to order quickly. we got a iced chai tea latte, a tiramisu iced latte and a regular coffee. everything was so delicious. the workers were all friendly and the service was very fast. you can tell the workers are very experienced and you can tell they know what they are doing. they also have a ton of merchandise to buy!! read more

Really good latte and great service! The barista noticed I was working and brought me a table lamp unprompted.

By far the best coffee shop in Troy!! The specialty coffees, lattes and cappuccinos are so unique, consistent in flavor, and delicious. The decor is beautiful as well and the back outdoor seating is fun for summer months. Also, the staff is so friendly and kind!! Highly recommend!! read more

It was a very comfortable space. I enjoyed the cold brew I got, the flavor or notes were very unique.

Very popular during last weekend's farmer's market. The espresso has some nice fruity notes. Quite a wait for that but the regular coffee outside was excellent too. read more

My all time favorite coffee shop! The owners, Alejandro and Jacob, have put the heart and soul into this place and it SHOWS! The baked goods and syrups are made in house and soo sooo yummy! They even make their own whipped cream - need I say more?!? My favorite drink has to be the Crème Brûlée latte (hot and iced are both delicious) but honestly I have loved everything I have ordered from here. Unfortunately for me, I have moved across the country but every time I'm in the Capital Region I always find time to stop by. read more

I've been here a few times now and I can confidently say that this place has some of the best espresso I've ever had. I'm not a particularly experienced espresso drinker, so take my opinion as you will, but beyond the espresso, Jacob Alejandro also offers a myriad of fresh sweet--and savory--pastries that are always fantastic. read more

I'm all about the full experience. The decor of this place is very nice. But the actual owners make you not want to support their business. Their personalities are so unwelcoming!! Even when they're faking a smile you can feel it. There used to be better staff at one point. I remember 2 younger guys that were always working and I loved talking with them. They even remembered customers. Now it just feels dry and bitter in there. But hey, at least it looks cute. read more

Have been stalking this place on Instagram for a bit. Made it! What a gorgeous place, lovely aesthetic. Sexy, modern, calm but caffeinating! Order away. Lots of tempting espresso and cold brew based drinks. Will try next time when it's earlier in the day. Enjoyed a fabulous piccolo with oat milk(Aka cortado). He had a hot chocolate with cow milk and an Argentinian cookie. All of the basked goods looked insane (took one to go so check back)! Do wish there were more savory snack items, might be the time of day. Plenty of room to social distance and outdoor seating. Will be back. read more

This place is beyond great, some of the best coffee in the capital region and so cute! I got the strawberry milk cold brew and it was so good, fresh and not too sweet, it's genius. The cold brew is also good, bold and flavorful. My husband got the chorizo scone and it was one of the best scones ever, fresh with a little kick. This place is such a gem and was well worth the 25 minute drive from Delmar. The vibe is cool and the people are so friendly, will be back and can't wait to try more! read more

Jacob Alejandro - Strawberry milk cold brew- innovative and delicious! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Troy, New York

Scones very dry. Asked to heat them in microwave. Was told they dont do that. Was expecting coffee to be great, but eh? Day we were there it was very cold and breezy. They need some good space heaters. Ambiance - felt crowded and small. Price over priced for what you get. Would I go back? If it were a summer day and just wanted to be out, it would be ok. From reading reviews, expected place to be fantastic and food to be exceptional. Not impressed. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. The baristas are helpful and friendly in both the albany and troy locations. Their coffee drinks are defiently sub par--very bitter tasting for a speciality coffeeshop. The espresso drinks aren't worth the price. I had been referred here by a friend . 0 stars. Employees were rude and judgmental. I asked for a Columbia Victoria coffee. Did not know it didn't come iced as I never been . He told me the wait was 3 min. After 8 min I was still waiting and another employee made him aware I was waiting. I then asked if my coffee was iced.he said no I didn't say iced and I said that's fine then. He made me a cold brew which I can not drink being pregnant so basically waited for nothing. When I asked what it was he rudely said cold brew then asked me "well what do you want" offended I left with a cold brew I can't drink read more

This is the closest experience to an authentic Italian coffee shop I have been to here in Upstate NY. This is our first time here stopping in Troy. The two staff were extremely welcoming and the environment was very cozy and ambient, great for a study spot or to read a book. And boy the cappuccino and spice latte were top notch. The quality of the espresso itself was unlike the typical you can find anywhere in the US. This espresso was extracted by a professional barista, and she even made a beautiful design on top. And the chai latte was so good my boyfriend even loved it, and he usually doesn't go for chai as it's usually prepared too strong. Definitely a great experience! read more
