Mr. Hodges at JacksonWhite Law was professionally irresponsible in handling the Estate. Mr. Hodges did little to fight for the Estate. The settlement outcome did not come close to meeting my expectations, mainly because of how Mr. Hodges dealt with matters of the Estate. Mr. Hodges misrepresented and overstated his capabilities and experience during my initial attorney interviews. I was looking for an attorney who was equipped and experienced to handle a contentious estate involving stolen assets that may include litigation. Mr. Hodges initially said that he was experienced in litigation and contentious estates. I explicitly asked when I interviewed Mr. Hodges if he is capable of handling this Estate. He responded affirmatively and stated that it appeared as if we had a strong case. After the opposing party changed counsel and it became clear that we were headed to litigation, Mr. Hodges changed his tune. He was not capable and prepared, as he stated himself in February 2020, via email: "I do not feel that we have adequate resources to represent the Estate in the litigation matter. Our head probate litigator retired recently... "...As much as I would like you to spend a lot of money with our firm to go after this, I would recommend that you hire another firm for this portion of the estate administration." Mr. Hodges was never capable or experienced in handling this Estate. When Mr. Hodges told me during the initial interview that he is capable, he wasn't referring to his abilities but his now-retired colleague. Mr. Hodges willingly withheld this critical detail from the beginning. To this day, I do not know how, in good conscience, Mr. Hodges could even take this case in good faith. As soon as action was required, Mr. Hodges relented, and in doing so, hurt the Estate's claim and position. At this point, it was too late for me to hire another firm without opening myself to personal legal challenges from the opposing party/firm for not properly acting as a responsible PR/fiduciary to the Estate. Mr. Hodges backed us into a corner financially and damaged our negotiation power. While I don't need to get into the details here, we had ample evidence of stolen assets involving the opposing party. Mr. Hodges squandered opportunities. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue. Mr. Hodges was incredibly sloppy. All of his draft filings were riddled with errors (incorrect grammar, misspellings, improper syntax). I spent many hours editing his drafts and sending them back. Mr. Hodges improperly deposed the other side. Mr. Hodges did not administer the oath at the beginning of what was supposed to be a proper deposition of the opposing party. Mr. Hodges stated to the opposing party, 'I'm sure you will tell the truth, therefore I don't think we need to administer the oath.' The opposing party repeatedly lied during this 'deposition,' and we could do nothing about it. Mr. Hodges recorded the session. Mr. Hodges errors in his filings continued, and that cost the Estate more money. When I challenged him on some of these errors, he offered to 'half' his hourly rate when the billing came due. And when it came to billing, there were errors and overcharges on that front too. I regret choosing JacksonWhite and Mr. Hodges. Working with Mr. Hodges was frustrating and problematic. My family bears additional emotional scars as a result. read more

Over the last 10 years I have had to assist with the care and financial matters of close relatives. In 2012, I needed to assume the guardianship and act as conservator for my paternal aunt. I found Jackson White attorneys that specialized in elderly care and would take work in Navajo County, Arizona. I had exceptional assistance, care, and advice. So, in 2020 when my cousin passed away, I turned back to Jackson White. The attorney assigned to me was Ryan Hodges. My cousin had a trust, but I was unable to find it. Mr. Hodges also tried the leads I gave him to locate this trust. As my cousin's parents preceded him in death, there was no current spouse and he had no children, I was next in line to probate his estate. I was familiar with his financial affairs since I was assigned his mother's care in 2012. I reached out to Jackson White and Ryan Hodges. Mr. Hodges was up front and honest with my situation and my cousin's financial situation. There were 16 cousins and 2 uncles that were part of my cousin's estate. I'm an attorney, so my standards for effective counsel are high - perhaps unfairly so. Yet Ryan Hodges exceeded all of my expectations, and for a very reasonable cost. I have sought his guidance twice - this time for a probate of my father's estate. This was a medium-complexity probate, with property across three states and Arizona taking the lead due to real property there. From the very beginning of our work together through the close of probate months later, Ryan was highly capable, proactive, responsive, helpful, and friendly. Thanks Ryan and Jackson White for all the assistance in settling my husband's estate. My Husband Jeff passed in July after contracting COVID-19 while in the Hospital for treatment of a bleeding ulcer. At the time we hadn't gotten around to making a will (although we were always going to) we thought that as far as most of our banking was concerned, we were in good shape, and we really had no creditors. I tried doing all the things that were expected like calling Social Security and stopping his pension check, but within just a few days of his death his checking (which most of our bills were paid via autopay) and our savings accounts were frozen by the bank. I tried dealing with the bank on my own and knew at that point I was in over my head; I was really having a hard time dealing with his death and just barely functioning. My brother passed away on May 30, 2023. He did not have a will and had no property so I thought it was going to be easy. Before passing he was a resident of the Arizona Veterans Home. Unbeknownst to me, he had taken money out of the bank and took it with him to the Veterans Home. They put it in a trust for him to use but he did not have me as a beneficiary. When he passed they issued a check to "THE ESTATE OF" instead of directly to me, which the bank would not touch without me being named administrator of his estate. Which is why I needed to go the Probate route. This being all new to me I was pretty clueless on how to proceed. Terrible. Tim Durkin is one of the most unethical and immoral attorneys in the game. Mr. Durkin recently attacked the statements of a 3 year old child who disclosed sexual abuse by someone much older. Additionally, this complete joke of an attorney had been made aware of police reports and the arrest of the offender. Regardless of being provided this information, he still insisted upon attacking a minor victims statements. He lacks professionalism, integrity and moral character. To Mr. Durkin, children don't allege or make up sexual abuse, they survive it. We are in the formal process of organizing a peaceful protest at his office and welcome those in the community who find this behavior offensive to our children who don't have the mental capability to fabricate or falsify sexual abuse. I highly discourage anyone from using Jackson White, as they employ these types of attorneys who have zero moral compass. read more
