I go there mostly for bags of ice and top-tier gas, but I love knowing I can get just about anything else I need there too. It is like an Idaho version of a bodega. The employees are always very nice and friendly, too. Jacksons was started by a family from Homedale, Idaho. In 1975, they opened a gas station in Caldwell. Today, they have more than 300 locations spread across 7 Western states. The key to a well-run business starts with happy and loyal employees. If you frequent Jacksons, you'll notice there isn't a lot of turnover, and the employees seem happy. In addition to providing a fair wage and a family-like work environment, they offer a generous benefit package that includes: affordable health/dental/vision plans, paid time off and holiday pay, fuel and merch discounts, performance bonuses, a 401(k) Retirement plan with a company match, profit sharing, and tuition reimbursement of up to $5000 per year. I'd consider working here just for the 401(k) and tuition reimbursement alone. Only 22% of American employers provide 401(k) retirement plans with a company match. Jacksons also raises millions of dollars for local charities. I don't know when Jackson's got rebranded as Jacksons Food Store, but the name is fitting. The buyer for Jackson's really knows what they're doing! These are some of the interesting food products I found during my recent visit to the Jacksons at 715 N. Ten Mile Rd in Meridian. I visited this location after purchasing tacos at Street Tacos La Cruz, to buy a drink, so I could eat at their table outside. But just one step inside the store, I spotted so many interesting items that after I was done eating, I went back inside and took pictures until my phone battery died. In the course of doing so, I interacted with several employees. They were all very nice and helpful. I LOVE this store!!! And you will, too! GUARANTEED!!! * This store also sells a lot of wine and has the largest beer cave of all the Jacksons locations. * This store also has a drive-through. Your drive up, tell them what you want from inside the store. They go get it and ring you up. Wild! Highly Recommended!!!

I actually left the store in a better mood than when I came in that never happened at Walmart. I always left frustrated and annoyed. The employees were nice. They greeted me. They said hi. I accidentally stepped in front of an employee who was getting some things for an online shopper and she was so polite and nice didn't seem at all annoyed at me for being there and then also for getting in her way. She was still happy and nice! I do not mind paying a little extra for 1. A better selection for anything 2. Polite and kind staff who smile 3. A clean well organized and stocked store 4. However they have a wonderful selection of bulk foods so you can buy 1 oz of ginger powder for that pie once a year and not have to buy a whole container for $5 that will go to waste. I like the produce and meat and fish and eggs much better than Walmart (which has eggs in styrofoam cartons still. Ick) It's big, it takes me 1 hour minimum to do a basic shopping trip, due to processing issues I guess. But I like winco so much and try to be organized enough to go here once or twice a month rather than go to the neighborhood Walmart that is about a mile from my house. I like their store brand clumping kitty litter most (and it's the cheapest one!) cuz other brands start smelling faster than theirs too. So many reasons to like winco!

Most of the workers are friendly some are not at all. Ashley, the checker, is rude and demeaning to the seniors, and other workers told me they don't like her either. Disrespect is unacceptable! When we were in last Thursday, 10-8-26 my wife picked up the wrong cheese block as it was in the sharp cheddar location bin, and she did not check it and got mild cheddar, which we do not eat. When she took the cheese back Ashley, and the store manager said they would not exchange or take it back. This is the worst customer service of not exchanging it and doing what they want with the cheese she returned. All of this for $4.30, terrible customer service. I was shocked when she told me this. They just lost a long time customer for $4.30. Their greed is beyond comprehension. I will let everyone I know about this and suggest they shop elsewhere. I couldn't even leave a survey on their website off their receipt as the store number is not taken on the survey which tells me they don't care about your opinion.
