The 2…read morestory shop is bright and airy, and an open floor plan and staircase lit by skylights in this historic old stone building (built by the Kuglers of Kugler Mill fame in 1800's). The woman who owns the shop has stocked it full of unusual and whimsical items for the garden and home. This is a terrific place to find unique gift items, and in the fall there will be Holiday items added. Some of my favorites were the unusual and colorful fabric FAN CHAIRS, the cast iron, painted, garden bird & butterfly water holders on a long "stick", and a beautiful blue ceramic flower on a long "stick". There is so much more to see, it's a feast for the eyes. A wonderful addition to the marvelous shops & restaurants that have opened in the last few years in Old Milford.

Inside, this place has such and interesting collection of wares, I'm not quite sure how to categorize it. Part antiques store, part knick-knacks, part collectibles and a host of other things from the currently popular wooden signs to hand woven items, this place is best described as a fun little store of curiosities. When travelling, I seek out little stores like this- you never know what cool treasure you will find. Many times I will spot a perfect gift for a loved one or friend in places like this all across the country. Now it appears there is such a place right in my own back yard. My daughter and I could have spent a few hours in this place looking at everything aesthetically crammed into this tiny shop. We'll make more time soon. Can't bring the wife though, I'll go broke. Left there with some great little gifts and a cool apothecary jar to add to the collection. The prices were incredibly reasonable! I am not sure why they can't provide a solution similar to Walmart or another big box store where you can choose the exit you go out after your pay at the checkout. This isn't the fault of this store, but maybe someone from Corporate Lowe's will read this one day! One room in the back was filled with an assortment of accessories, like jewelry, hair barrettes, and hats. Incredibly well organized, this shop is like strolling through a fashion museum. Prices were a little higher than expected, and although there were two salesladies in the store, neither of them acknowledged that I was there. That bumped Vintage Marketplace down to three stars.
