I didn't need an appointment and I was greeted by the receptionist. She was actually polite and even offered coffee/tea. It only took five minutes before Stacy, the accountant called my name. Once in the cubicle, she asked what brought me to H&R Block and I explained that I thought it might be best to have it done in person--I think it's because of the identity theft issues with doing taxes online but I don't think it would be any different with the accountant doing it. Anyway, she explained that the cost for preparing taxes would be different than online but that she couldn't give me a definite number until I decided to go forward. I got the impression that she was in a rush--I know that it's tax season but I don't want to feel rushed. I was still on the fence and said that I think I need to think about it. She said okay and pretty much rushed me out. In fact, I was still putting my papers together when walked out. I felt like I was just a waste of time for her. The receptionist was nice but that's it. I'll just have to take my chances online.
