I met Dr Steve during an emergency with my daughters braces. Because the work was done elsewhere no other doctor would come near her however, Dr Steve was willing to help. He didn't take advantage of the situation by charging extra, etc. I was so pleased with the way things worked out that I decided switch to Dr Steve. The office can get pretty crowded, but there's never a long wait. Dr Steve is very dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring. I couldn't ask for a better orthodontist. The front desk staff has been pleasant and accomodating and the doctors I have spoken to have answered my questions. However, I have many concerns with this practice 1) there is a revolving door of doctors 2) each doctor we've seen has had wildly differing opinions on treatment plans 2) they have really over corrected each time we've come in, to the point of needing to book in-between emergency appointments because they created a nearly horizontal flare and then overlap. 4) There is zero accountability if you have an issue. Doctors are totally booked and just say they weren't the one who did the last adjustment. I would highly recommend a practice with one or two doctors over this model. Lastly, I believe in breaks for workers, but being closed for an hour and a half for lunch each day is wild - just do one hour or have shifts. read more

Don't know about the regular doctors here but Dr. Brett Kastin who's there once a month is the worst -- ARROGANT, IMPATIENT and has no bedside manners. I took my daughter for an orthodontic appointment. After she did all X-rays etc.... He saw my daughter in an office chair, barely looked in her mouth, mumbled two things about her very complicated situation, walked off when I asked a basic follow-up question. I was shocked. The worst experience for me and my daughter. What a waste of time. If I can give Dr. Kastin 0, I would not hesitate. He tried to briefly explain the reason for the set up of the office instead of a dental chair by saying something like he's only there once a month -- but still makes no sense that he's going to do work or even provide a consultation to a patient sitting in a small office chair. This would not have been so bad if he had given more than 2 minutes of his time and he wasn't so ARROGANT and RUDE. One last thing -- I noticed when I was leaving they provide various gifts in return for promising to write a review. They didn't ask me to do one probably because I didn't look too pleased with the service. read more

Came here for braces consult and I was so pleased with the office. It's gorgeous. So different! I was not expecting it. I experienced no wait time signed in and got called right away. I agree with another customer below it's kind of a revolving door in the sense the doctor looks at your teeth says it's okay to fix and then your back to where u started at the reception counter. They broke down the charges and payment plans. But I still asked my questions and wasn't going to let the doc slip away that fast.** Too bad it won't work out for me; every thing is a little pricey here. Great office tho! read more

This review is long overdue, but better late then never! I got my Invisalign from this office and although my case was a little complicated (my bottom tooth was not moving quick enough), I am very happy with my results. People compliment me on my teeth when I smile which is great because I hated my teeth before Invisalign. I'm a teacher so I talk to people all the time and my smile is important to me. The office is always clean and the modern decor is very appealing. The staff was always super friendly to me. I was seen by various orthodontists and wish that I was seen by the same one every time. I have been a patient of Dr. Steve for the last two years. I trust Dr. Steve and not saying that the other Drs are not great but, Dr. Steve is very approachable and answers all questions. The last 2 months I have seen 4 orthodontist in this practice and have not gotten an answer as far as a approximation of when my treatment will end. Therefore, I wanted to make an appointment with Dr. Steve. First of, this month I had to call to confirm my appointment( understandable the office is changing to a new system) when I called I asked if Dr. Steve is going to be in and they said yes. When I went in, Dr. Steve was not in the office. As a patient all I would want is consistency. When talking to the front desk to ask if and when will Dr. Steve will be back in- I received a rude response from the front desk. When asking to talk to manager, who was very helpful said Dr. Steve is part owner of the practice and hours may vary. Two options were given to me : 1) to come in again and see Dr. Steve 2) make my follow up appointments with a doctor that will consult with Dr. Steve. At this point in my treatment, I have no idea when my treatment will be done. Overall, it has been frustrating these last couple months with some employees being dismissive when asking a question or venting my frustrations. read more

I've been visiting this office for about 5 years now. I used to see another orthodontist, Dr. Peter J Theodorou, at this office, but he sold his practice to two orthodontists and so I've been seeing them in this office ever since, and I really love them (one of the dentists there, Dr. Giannoutsos, is actually a cousin of Dr. Theodorou). Both Dr. Steve Giannoutsos and Dr. Seth Newman are easy to communicate with, very knowledgeable, easy-going, and they are always honest with you - e.g., my treatment was going to take a couple of years longer than originally anticipated, and they gave me a heads up about it. Their prices are very reasonable and they will work with you on payment plan if you need it. Even the fees that are not included in your treatment, such as the pontic teeth that were attached to my retainers, are priced reasonably - they won't rip you off. All of the receptionists (especially Sergio) and the dental technicians are extremely friendly and gentle when they're working on you. The only constructive feedback that I have to give is the fact that this office often appears to overbook their appointments. I often have to wait about 15-20 minutes after my appointment time before they see me, and sometimes the waiting room is so crowded that you have to wait outside in the hallway. But everything else about this place is great, the dentists, the staff, and the treatment. Making appointments are also quick and easy in person or by phone. Two years ago I've completed the treatment via braces, and was wearing retainers (with fake teeth attached to it, aka pontics) for the next two years, and then two after that, my implants and crown bridges were completed this month (October 2013), I now visit this place routinely to have my retainer checked, in addition to making sure that my teeth aren't shifting, and I really enjoy coming here. read more

The staff is terrible. When I called, the person who helped schedule my sister's appointment said that they are in fact in affiliation with her insurance. 2 weeks pass by and when I finally bring her in for her appointment, they later say they don't accept that insurance. Why couldn't that just be clarified earlier? There was the woman who was helping me and another person sitting behind a computer screen with his back turned towards us. He was literally looking over at us the entire time being extremely unhelpful. I know for a fact he was the person who had registered her over the phone as well. It's unfortunate that we traveled all the way there just because front desk was not thorough enough with the insurance process from the beginning. read more

Jackson Heights Orthodontics is the best place to get your braces hands down. Firstly, the people at the front desk are very nice and accommodating. Wait time is short despite the high volume, they know how to get people in and out in good time. The best part about Jackson Heights Orthodontics are the doctors, especially Dr. Steve. He's one of the most nicest, knowledgable guys I know. He always makes sure that I understand what's going on-whether it be what procedure they're about to do or what I have to do at home to make progress. I absolutely love this place. The staff is nice and friendly. The doctors are amazing and very down to earth. They are always there to answer all your questions. If you are a first time patient and are paying cash for the services (like me) you will fill out a form and sign a few papers. Braces will be placed the same day. They have Saturday hours but check their schedule because its every other Saturday and limited hours. read more
