Well, Jacks is gone. All we have is a piece of paper to prove we have a lifetime warranty which is just that....a piece of paper. My windows are hard to open. Plus, they are sagging along the frame area. Nothing can be done. So, we need new windows. We decided to go with a better type of window. Unfortunately, we are paying an exorbitant amount. And, yes, the company I am using offers a lifetime warranty. But Jacks has made it hard to trust anyone offering a warranty. They can't install the windows I sold in order to pay me. But want me to sell more windows in order to get paid what I already sold... You will only have headaches with this company. I worked at Jack's in 2015 and 2016 and Jack started to STEAL our commissions from me and my best friend that I got a job there. I had at least $60,000 that was taken from me. Meaning he did not pay me or us what we were owed. Me and my best friend quit. Mike Coon helped set us up so we would get screwed. Mike acted like Jack was his daddy and bowed down to his every word. I was sick to my stomach when it happened and still years later I am feeling the same way. We were #1 and #2 in sales in the state for jack and I cant understand why he would do that to us. We never had one single complaint against us until made up ones were faked after. AFTER we said we were not going to keep letting Jack steal from us. Just say no to Jacks, (Windows could not pass building inspection). Where to begin, no permits were issued in the beginning for the instillation. They showed up a little late and were nice people. Then It went down hill. My windows were not sealed correctly, and the windows still move on there own after being adjusted. To repair the air leaks they never seemed to have enough materials or time to complete or start the job. I waisted 2 work days vacation being here, and meeting with these people and did not get the work completed. The latest is Jack's, contacted SMBA Southwest Michigan Building Authority 269-585-4154 and requested an inspection. The install date was in October the repairs were in November. The first inspection date was December 27th scheduled for 12:00AM. The SMBA was to call 800-845-4937 Dana at Jack's to meet him onsite (customer claims Bad install). There was no notification to me, No sticker left advising of inspection! I call the SMBA and told them this was not a valid Building Permit Inspection, due to non compliance of any notification to customer or any notification left on MY door. SMBA made the standard excuses that they ran out of stickers, a clear violation of policy for the SMBA. They only inspected the outside. I agreed with Kyle to have it reinspect, inside and out for a fair inspection. The Inspector and I both arrived at the house and the inspector reviewed and opened all the windows and failed the window Building permit inspection, After he opened the windows and review the work! Reason for failure "some windows leaking air either through or around the sash, most are not balanced well, wont stay in place moves up or down." I have no respect for the OPS Manager at Jacks. Unprofessional instillation experience and training for installers and lack of procedures and ethics. (half of my windows are unbalanced and they use untreated 1/4 floor rounds on a window as a stop, they used but no caulk to close the seal behind them). I thought this was a small, honorable company, being new to the area. Not the correct perception. I did not due my homework. this has cost me many hours, and still not fixed correctly. Also filed a complaint with the SMBA regarding Jack's after the fact building inspections/permit requests. They did not know this was installed over 2 months ago. Past dated permits are illegal but Kyle advised they would rather have the work inspected rather than leave it uninspected. My goals were to have non drafty or leaking new windows that would keep my home warm. Not a common goal with jack's. Quality work and instillation does not seem to be in there goals. After not get my goals. I was told I am overreacting and it's not as bad as I am making it plus, it's difficult working with difficult clients. I reminded the OPS MGR that his behavior has been unprofessional at best, and I do understand dealing with difficult clients. Jack's OPS Manager favorite line is " I have installed windows for over 20 years and I have never had a complaint like this", I asked him if he has read the internet. Then he advised that you can't make everyone happy! I have been quoted this statement on every call and by the phone people, HR manager and schedulers. They have all quoted this line. Phone calls go unreturned for a very long time. When they left the last time and did not finish the work. I called and told them they did not finish the work with the scheduler and did not hear back for quite a while. Just called to check on my windows that were ordered in June 2021 and was told there has been a delay on the patio door and no additional information is available and no estimate can be given. So just doing an honest review at this time as it has been 8-months+. Also, the one-star review is in part because during these 8-months no one has ever called me and it was always left up to me to call. I will update here when a status changes. In over a 15 year or so span, their rating went from 4 to 1 star! First I have had warranty window replacement in the past, a film formed, they came out popped them out and charged me for labor. They told me it was probably the model and that the vendor had gone out of business. Fast forward 2021, a film is forming again, i was looking for a specific type window replacement for a couple of other windows so i though I would kill 2 birds with one stone; Of course their sales person came out on a mission and disregarded the discussion I wanted to have on STC ratings, said he would get back with me once he couldn't get a sell and I haven't heard from them since. Then all of a sudden they couldn't replace the window under warranty, stated they no longer sold it. I told them they didn't sell it the last time they replaced it. I didn't expect to get anywhere so I get my vindication via reviews. If they lose 1 customer as a result, then it was worth the headache. Buyer Beware! 1 star is too generous. Jack's Wholesale Windows continually violates Federal Regulation Title 16 Chapter 1, Subchapter B, Part 239.4 "If an advertisement uses "lifetime," "life," or similar representations to describe the duration of a warranty or guarantee, then the advertisement should disclose, with such clarity and prominence as will be noticed and understood by prospective purchasers, the life to which the representation refers." I have made repeated attempts to have defective products replaced or repaired under a lifetime warranty, only to be refused by the company. I only have notes on calls going back to August 2014 but have had issues with door jambs since 2010 or 2011. The most recent contact was July 25, 2020 ongoing since last summer. I need two door jams and thresholds with sill pans replaced or preferably refunded so that I can have the job done correctly. There is also damage to my wall. They refuse to do anything at all, blaming it on Home Guard, which they now tell me only covers frames for 5 years, never a lifetime warranty as they told me. I paid just under $11,000 for windows and doors with written contract stating there would be a lifetime manufacture and installation warranty. The door contract reads in part, "2.) Manufacture (3) Homegard doors, ...to be new Construction Style...3.) Issue Manufacturers Lifetime Warranty- Jacks Lifetime Warranty on Installation." The window contract reads similarly, "3.) Manufacture And install one Gorrel 7004 4 Lite bow...Increase opening for bow to 8' one way. 4.) Issue Manufacturers Lifetime Warranties, transferable including accidental glass breakage, non pro-rated, no deductible. Jacks Lifetime installation warranty..." Ordered windows from Jacks 10/23/21. They sent out someone to do a final measurement the first week of November. They told us we'd be called to set up an installation date. We have heard nothing. I keep calling my salesman and Jack's Wholesale and all phones are disconnected. I drove to Jack's in Schoolcraft and it's uninhabited. No tire tracks, nothing. I called the Schoolcraft township and they know nothing about them. I know Jack's were getting their windows from Vista Windows out of Lordstown, Ohio. I called Lordstown and they are out of business. The really unfortunate thing is that we had to pay 1/2 down when we ordered them. I'm out of a lot of $$. Please, if you are looking to buy windows, keep looking elsewhere! read more

While others may have had a positive experience with Jack's Wholesale Windows of Schoolcraft, mine was not one of those instances. Here is why, listed chronologically: -I requested a certain design for both of the windows I ordered and did not receive the design, despite the signed service agreement saying otherwise. -I was told that someone 'assumed' that the design I requested was wrong, as it was not a 'standard' design. Consequently, the incorrect windows arrived. I had to call Jack's and speak to a representative. This same representative asked if I'd be fine with accepting the incorrect design. I respectfully stated that I could not accept the incorrect design as I had specifically paid for a certain design for my home and had the service agreement to prove this. The representative stated that they would be reordering the windows so that they had the correct design. -The 'correct' windows arrived and were installed, but I had a family member present during the installation and not myself. Upon arriving home after work, the same exact, incorrect design windows were installed. Basically, perfectly fine, but incorrect windows were replaced with perfectly fine, incorrect windows. My thought process as to why this occurred again was that the installer had been reading off the wrong installation paperwork. -I called Jack's and explained to them again that the window design was incorrect. The stated that they would reschedule the installation for the 'correct' windows. -The window installer came out again, this time with the correct windows with the correct design. The installer was able to install one of two windows. The other window came cracked and he stated he would put in a request to have another window made. -I ended up calling after a few weeks of waiting to check on the status of the ordered window. The representative at Jack's stated that the order had never been put in and that they would order the window. -The second window arrived, but was the incorrect design. I called Jack's again and described the design to the representative. Up until this point, I had been using industry terminology so as to communicate better with the representatives. When I explicitly stated that "the design in the upper window pane is wrong and should be like so..." instead of saying "the grills in the upper sash are wrong and should be like so..." the representative then understood what was incorrect with the window. They then reordered the window. -The correct window with the correct design arrived. The installer ended up having to come back out to clean off black sealant that had gushed out of the upper window pane during the manufacturing process. After a year and a half of going back and forth with two Jack's service representatives, multiple installers, having to follow up myself, and multiple windows, the correct windows were ultimately installed. One of the windows is currently locking hard and sliding down far easier that the other (perhaps it's an issue with one of the weights). I do not recommend using Jack's Wholesale Windows of Schoolcraft until they can improve on the following: communication and product quality. read more

ZERO STARS IS THE RATING THEY HAVE EARNED, BUT UNFORTUNATELY YOU CAN'T POST RATING WITHOUT A RATING, so they get 1 star. THE WORST DECISION I COULD HAVE MADE was to purchase windows from Jack's Wholesale Windows!!!! I have four of the nine windows I purchased, that have developed a film in between the glass, which is obviously a defect. If you look at the windows from the outside they look like a mirror tent with bubbles. Just horrible!!! I have NEVER seen glass do this, even in homes where the windows are 40 or 50 years old. Contacted the company, spoke with Dana, Operations Manager, explained the problem to which he stated it was a seal leak, and that I would have to pay $199 for replacement windows as the company they purchased the windows from had gone out of business. How is that my problem??? Isn't a seal leak a defect or shoddy installation by Jack's employees? Whichever, it was not caused by normal wear and tear, or cleaning products, therefore, the glass should be replaced at Jack's expense, not mine. I told Dana, Jack's is still in business and should replace the defective glass. I could understand if there was something I had done to the glass, but that is not the case, it is a seal defect. I have an unlimited warranty and no where in the contract does it state that the customer is responsible for replacement glass. Also, the sales pitch and brochure states, "Timeless windows are made to outlast your home itself and look just as beautiful in 50 years as the day they first graced your home", Seriously?? and they are not going to stand behind the windows they install!!! The Operations Manager, Dana, stated that I was trying to get something for nothing. How in the hell could he say that? I bought the windows, they did not give them to me! I recommend anyone that is considering new windows, DON'T GO TO JACK's because they don't give a damn about their customers nor their reputation. They can always use the excuse that the supplier they use went out of business and you will have to pay for any defective glass. Sounds like some shady business dealings to me! My husband and I bought 15 double hung complete house of Windows. We've had no problems at all. Of course it was probably 20 years ago. We had 2 Windows that had moisture between the glass and the guys were right there replacing them. But I may have to update my review, because the windows have a lifetime warranty, I'm assuming the screens do too? Over the years 5 screens have been damaged, a couple are gone because we took them to a local hardware store that "lost" them. I am willing to pay but not the price of a whole new window! A Jack's sales person came to my house and when I answered the door he immediately asked where my husband was. Told him my husband was at work and I just wanted an estimate on how much the windows would be. He asked where my husband was and when he could speak to him at least five times. He even had to call in to his manager and I could hear him on the phone saying no the husband's not here so we can't talk with her. One day first of Jan. I called Jacks About windows for my double wide. The man who I talked with to came from Schoolcraft in a couple of hours. He was pleasant and spent over an hour to tell me the information on the windows. Then in a few weeks someone came to measure and placed the order. Feb 14. is when the installers came to put them in. They had other jobs to do also When they started, they found a few issues with the house to work on. The Father and Son team, they sure knew what to do. I watched them do every step, to learn everything I could with asking questions It was a trip for them to come from PawPaw to Muskegon the three days. I really like my windows and the house is warmer. The girl in the office was very nice to me, called me many times with questions and also after to see How I like the windows. Did I see anything not right? All I saw was a screen need fixing in the corner. She said that they will come and fix it. I didn't read the other ratings reports on here, so I wanted to share my experience. Just need to be patience, it was very cold. We moved into this house in 2009 and found that we needed to replace every window since they were caulked shut. My brother in law golfed with one of the salesmen, had a window replaced by Jacks, so we had this salesperson come talk to us. We ended going with Jack's since their prices were one of the lowest for triple pane windows. Fast forward to 2019. One of the windows now has moisture inside the triple pane. I called the company and after several phone calls, the glass was ordered. Six weeks later, they scheduled an appointment to do the work. Very shoddy work. They not only broke the old pane taking it out, they also broke the new pane putting it in. Now we have a cracked window and the weather is turning cold since it's mid October. I called today (3 days later) to see when the new glass will be in. It hasn't even been ordered yet! I have never heard so many "I'm sorry's" in one phone call. Sounds like the person I talked to is wearing many hats in her job. Not my problem. I would expect that they would be doing whatever they could to get this problem solved. Most unereliable company IO have ever dealty with. They have said that our windows would be in at least 5 to ten different dates now oct 14th was supposed to get started and we ordered in july. Everytime I call its in two more weeks, then a month then 2 months. Like they are stalling well I could have had another company put these windows in 2 mnonths from when WEe sign a contract, but now they have 4000$ we put down in July for suppsedly faster service according to their sales maen for paying over 50 percent but we never mopved up at all if anytheing its backwards and these windpows are for a 75 YEAR OLD GRANDMONTHER WHO HAS HAS BOARDS PUT UP IN THE WINDOW SINCE IT GOT COLD COSTYING MORE MONEY FOR HER BECAUSE OF INSULATION AND ALL AND OUR HEAT BILL IS INSANE. They should have gave us our money back when asked since they didnt lkive end up to their deal. So now Were going throgh The BBB because cash was used for half the order and a credit card is filing to get the money back on my brothers car since my brother and I put the 4000$ down which was way over the 50 percent. The bad thing is tyhey dont care about who they rip off they see a old lady as a mark so they hustled her and made it seem like there s a lifetime warranty and all when most people ive read was void cus they switch wimndow companies so you cant even by a replacement screeem if needed and need a whole new window bleeding their customers dry. Terrible! They put 11 windows in for the previous homeowner. During the warranty period 6 of the 11 windows failed. When I bought the house I called Jacks to have them warranty service the windows. They said the window company went out of business and they didn't have a contract with me so they could not warranty service the windows. I still needed the windows fixed so I paid $70 to have someone from their company come out and measure the failed windows for replacement. They ordered the windows which I paid $1,000 for and then waited 2 months for them to arrive. When the installer came to change the pains (for which I was charged another $70 for) we noticed that the windows that they ordered were double paned and the windows we have are triple paned. I had the installer call the office and he was told I would have to pay the difference for the triple pane and wait another 6-8 weeks. She said they might be able to get them faster but I would have to pay. I had requested that the installer change the windows to the double pane now since the others were so bad you can't even see through them so we can at least see through the windows while we wait 2 months. Sadie said no they would not do that. So I paid for them to do a job, they messed up (which happens to everyone) but then they won't even help to make that mistake right. They could have easily had their installer spend 1 hour at my house making the change and I would have been ok waiting and even paid the difference (though not happily). So I agreed to keep it as is with the double paned windows. I can't believe the "customer service" of this company! Do yourself a favor and find literally anyone else. These are not ethical people that run the company and will not support you if something goes wrong. Oh, also the guy who measured the window measured one of them wrong and now I have one pane that is the wrong size in a window sash. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We ordered a window from them on April 25th 2018, it is now June 14th 2019 and we still do not have our window. Contrary to what the salesmen told us, scheduling an installation is not simple and they will not work with you to find a time that is best for you. We would get calls in the afternoon saying they would be coming the following morning to install the window, less then 24 hours notice. The one time we were able to move our schedules around to accommodate an install they called us an hour before the scheduled installation time to let us know they had to cancel our install. Even after speaking to the Operations Manager, Dana, this issue has not been resolved, over a year later. We paid this company a lot of money and have nothing to show for it. Over a month ago I had them come to give me a quote for bedroom windows and they measured every window in my house. After over an hour and a half, I still had no estimate and they had to come over the following week, as they hadn't shown me their window yet. I have called many times to ask where my quote is. They also offered a $25 gift card for having them come out. Well, really doubt that will get to me. Worst company ever! They are not dependent, timely, communicative, and they lie about their great service and company values! They call to set up times to visit home, but instead stand you up, not once, but twice. They don't offer courtesy calls prior to showing up. Nor do they offer compensation to offset your horrible experience! They push blame to the sales person, the one who sold you the windows. Admitting the employee was in the wrong, but that is okay, nothing they can do about it. Connie with HR will "try to look into it", but instead also doesn't follow through and attempts to twist the conversation a different way. Terrible customer service. Bought my entire house full of windows and once they were installed we were missing multiple screens. They ripped another during install. We have been trying to get our remaining screens for over a year. Every time we call we get a different story. From yes we have them to they never came in. Worst. Decision. EVER! We ordered 13 windows and 3 doors from Jack's Wholesale Windows. We're talking about a substantial investment on our part but we felt excited. Well, the excitement didn't last long. . . This has been an 8 month nightmare and it's not done! Starting with the doors, there had been some confusion on the measrements and they ended up re-measuring 3 times. After 4 months, the doors finally arrived but the one that caused the confusion had to be re-ordered. After 5 months the doors were finally completed. The only bright light during the door process was the installer. Excellent craftsmanship. The windows were installed within 6 weeks of ordering. While being installed, I noticed most of the screens had gaps in the corners which would allow tiny insects to enter. The picture window in the living room was very difficult to slide open. The kitchen tile was broken during installation of kitchen window. This same window was supposed to have a full screen but it came with a half screen. None of the windows were caulked on the inside. Throughout the day, I was bringing up these issues with the crew. Here are their answers - - For the screens, they advised me to take out each screen and bend them so that the corners do not have the gap. . . .OK (?). For the large picture window that is difficult to open, they advised me to get some furniture polish and put it in the bottom track to see if that would help. . . OK (??). I'm getting a tiny bit upset now. As for the caulking on the interior side of the windows, I was told by the head of the crew that the windows do not need to be caulked on the inside. . . OK (???). I've never heard of that but I guess they know best. As for the broken tile in the kitchen (which was strategically replaced in hopes that I wouldn't notice), I asked the head of the crew what he was going to do and he got some window caulk and cemented it back in. . . OK. . . Now I'm just a little bit angry. As for the full size screen for that same kitchen window - well, that's still an ongoing issue. It's been 8 months and I'm happy to say that I have the screen but sadly, it's not installed. The reason - another person came out in January to install the screen only to discover that the window is buckled on top. He put in an order for the window to be reinstalled. I also questioned this gentleman about the other issues, the screens, the front picture window, the caulking and he said that crew had been let go because of all of the issues they created. He told me everything they told me was ridiculous and I should have had better service. I didn't get a call back on the reinstall of the kitchen window so I called the office to see the status of the order. I think I had to call a couple of times before I got an appointment set up with the sales manager. That appointment was 4 weeks ago and, sad to say, he was a 'no show, no call. . . Very, very frustrating. I called over a week ago and they were going to call me back the next day. Again, no call back. It's been 8 months and I CANNOT get anyone to return calls. I even tried to call corporate to leave a message for Mr. Jack himself but . . . they wouldn't let me do that but, instead, referred me back to the sales manager. In the most cheerful way I can ask this, please Jack, if you're reading this, give me a call, I would love to chat with you. Your office has all of my contact information. Have no complaints on the installation of my windows. They did an excellent job. Cleaned up and was very courteous. Salesman was good initially. He contacted me to do a follow up to inspect work but never showed up. Have no problem with installation though. I would recommend others to buy Jacks Wholesale windows. read more

Buyer beware. Jacks are not very interested in servicing the products they install. I contacted the manufacture (VISTA window company) they are very rude and not willing to help with there defective windows that jacks installed. They said it is up to jacks to take care of it Well who knew? The shop manager just arrived at my place and looked at all the windows that were installed. He said that they were installed incorrectly and will replace one bottom window and repair two more that the seals were bad as well as pulling all of them out and doing them correctly. The installer who did them the first time no longer works for them. Go figure, and he also said that jacks would compensate me with a gas card. So i am glad that it is being fixed before winter sets in. I just wish that someone would have came and looked at the job when it was done. Now i will have to wait a few more weeks on the materials. read more
