Didn't see that one coming! 11 years...yes, 11 years it has been since I bought a new vehicle and I was not looking forward to it in the slightest! Coast Mazda ended up changing my perspective about the whole car buying process. I had been to plenty of dealerships elsewhere shopping around a good month and then I turned into Coast Mazda! Candidly, they were not my first test drive, but they certainly were my last...in a great way! In an, I found "the one" type way! It was the last place I turned into with my 11 year old very used machine, because out I came with my 2026 CX90 black beauty From start to finish, I can not rave enough about my experience at this dealership! My salesman, Ethan, listened and was patient with me the whole way through, he let me take out every single car and model I asked about, was a wealth of knowledge in every car we sat in, listened to my thoughts of exactly what I was wanting out of a vehicle, and understood my strong indecisiveness of colors and patiently waited while I acted like that was the biggest decision of my life! He was a whole vibe, young guy, but an old soul and genuinely made me feel that he cared! I would never forgive myself if I didn't mention Hunter, the Sales Manager in this process as well, because in the end, the sale would not have been complete without his help, understanding, input, and honestly, his positivity! He had great energy and again, in something I was dreading going out to do, he suddenly helped make buying a car a fun experience. Y'all do NOT sleep on Mazda! Let me tell you, I almost did, and I would have missed out on my newest bundle of joy

It's Not How You Start The Deal, It's How You Finish!…read more I recently purchased a lightly used 2024 Mazda CX-90 from this dealership in March 2026. I would have given this dealership 4 out of 5 stars, if not for the missteps that are still unresolved. The showroom experience was average, but the sales experience started well (with exception of the salesman (let's call him J.P.) hovering nearby as I took about 30 minutes to look over the vehicle). He seemed eager, so I cut him some slack. He was not as knowledgeable about some of the nuiances of Mazda as I would have hoped, which is where this review begins to drop - not because of lack of knowledge; rather, how resolving it was handled by the dealership staff. Anyone who has spent five minutes in summer Florida heat can understand the benefits of a cooled car before getting inside. Additionally, my wife has heat intolerance as a symptom of a larger medical condition and Mazda's do not have remote start on the key fob like most automakers. Instead, they have an app that you must have a subscription to in order to remote start the car. I knew this ahead of time, so the remote start on the app versus on the key fob was something I was willing to accept. What WAS and STILL IS the issue is I negotiated one year of the subscription into the deal based on TWO salesmen that J.P. approached when I asked him the duration of the subscription that is included in the sale. They told him it was a year, so he told me the same - as a result, a year is what I asked be written (and was written) into the paperwork before closing the deal. About a week later, Mazda pinged me through the app to let me know the subscription expired in three months (June 2026 rather than March 2027). I'll pay the app, due to the aforementioned reasons; but since I have to do that, I'm going to bring the full story to light for people to see for their consideration. From that point until now (seven weeks), I've been reaching out to the sales staff to have them honor this part of the agreement by extending the app membership directly with Mazda or send me a check for the remaining nine months of the app subscription (least preferred option that I proposed, but an acceptable solution if logistics proved to be an issue for them for the direct extension with Mazda). Since he was my salesman, I started with J.P. with calls and emails to give him a chance to make things right. He took the first call and never returned my further attempts to contact him. After about a week, I then moved on to the first person that contacted me over the phone before I initially visited the dealership to check out the SUV. Let's call him C.C. C.C. took my calls and responded to my emails nicely enough, but that was all. He would always seem to forget to follow up on the issue, and after I reached back out to him, he would say, "let me put a Post-It on my monitor and I'll get back to you", only to disappear until I chased him down again. Finally I got, "I asked the Sales Department to address this, but I guess they didn't. This is my day off, but I'll be back in the office tomorrow to get into it personally." That was about two weeks ago, and I resigned to give them time to respond before posting this review. I've been more than patient and fair, there has been no word, so here we are... It's only a few bucks a month, so the money is not the issue. I've spent more than that in my time to chase this issue. What is the issue is not acting in good faith to honor all aspects of a deal - even when it is in writing. It's obvious these people at Coast Mazda in Port Richey are car salesmen in the purest form - they diligently call you and are responsive to get the deal, and ghost you once they have your money. Be very wary and do not expect them to honor negotiated add-ons even when it is in writing. Perhaps they should consider that just one potential lost opportunity due to the experience expressed in this review costs far more than nine months of an app that costs less than a fast-food value meal per month. Not smart Coast Mazda... Not smart at all.

Do NOT buy a vehicle from this business. I purchased a 2015 Nissan Altima on Saturday 9/13, had the…read morevehicle for ONE day, and on Sunday 9/14 the car broke down and I had to get it towed for a coolant leak, blown head gasket, no power steering fluid, broken radiator cap, exhaust gasket replacement and a new engine. This is over $4000 in repairs that Kyle Walker did not disclose when I asked if there were issues or major concerns with the vehicle that I should be aware of. Kyle assured me that the car was perfectly fine and that their mechanic assessed the car and determined there were no issues. My daughter was with me when they sold me this car, and they watched me leave with my 5-year old daughter knowing that the engine could blow at any time. I have attached the repair estimate for the Nissan Altima I purchased from this business that died after only 1 day of me driving it. The employees and owner here are NOT honest and only care about profits. Kyle Walker showed no empathy when I informed him immediately of the situation and that the vehicle had that damage prior to me purchasing it. The only thing Kyle said was that it was fine on the test drive and while they had the vehicle. As a consumer I would not know if there was a coolant leak and blown head gasket on a 5-10 minute test drive, and ALL of that damage would not randomly appear when I drove the car for less than two hours. I should not have ANY repairs when the seller said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle that they had their own mechanic assess. After my initial conversation with Kyle, he did not return any of my calls over several days to get this resolved. I had to physically go there today on 18 September for them to tell me there is nothing they are willing to do. They use "as-is" and warranties as an excuse to cover their unfair business practices and showed absolutely no concern for me and my daughter, my situation, and they were dismissive of me and the entire situation. There recent reviews are for their customer service, NOT for the quality of the vehicles they sell. Look at their other negative reviews and see for yourself. Take your HARD-EARNED money to another business that is honest and not going to take advantage of you. If you care about the safety of yourself and your family I would reconsider doing business here.

Went there…read moreyesterday sign said open but entire parking lot was empty with all the vehicles open and unlocked. Was weird. Showed up ready to buy a vehicle but no one there. Called again today and told him I'll be there around 4:00 when I get off work. Showed up looking like a construction guy because I'm a contractor and I showed up in a work truck because two of my vehicles flooded during the flood. I showed up looked at the vehicle and asked to go on a test drive. They said no, they wanted a deposit or proof of funds. Never heard of such a thing in my entire life. They will not let you test drive a vehicle unless you show them the money in your hand.....? He was extremely rude about it, and wanted a deposit..... Never in the history of man has there been a deposit before a test drive. I used to sell cars for a living and I've been shopping for vehicles the last couple months and I've test drove a lot of vehicles. Never been to a car lot to where they didn't let you drive it fall in love with it and then want to buy it. It's kind of the whole purchase of the sale. I asked to talk to a supervisor he said I can do you one better The owner was there. I spoke to the owner and the same answer. I tried to keep my cool and it did not go well. Never met anybody that works for company that works so hard at not making money for the company. Extremely unbelievable I would never send anybody there. I went there because it's right near my house and my neighbor but a vehicle from them a few years ago. So I figured I'd give them a shot. Extremely unbelievable and unprofessional. Plus I noticed when I looked at a few of the vehicles, pretty much all of my looked at had issues. Which is understandable because all vehicles do have issues in different ways. Some are acceptable, but when you have a steady stream of water pouring out of a muffler and rear main seal on a transfer case is leaking. And power steering pump leaking and sway bar bushings are gone among other issues. Which is normal how to use car lot and that's why it's called haggling. They pick a price I go lower back and forth sales made. Still blows My mind I couldn't even get the test drive a vehicle I was serious about buying. These people actually work at not selling cars and pushing people away, unbelievable and I've been looking for a while and I was really liking the vehicle .

This place was a breath of fresh air compared to other dealerships we visited previously, it was low pressure, and we left happy (and with a new car)! It looks like dealership's reviews need some major updating. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! (Both…read more sales AND service). While my wife and I were considering purchasing a Nissan, (and we were not in the market right at that moment), one salesman quickly became two, and the two then became THREE, all ganging up on me, all acting like they were my new best friends, saying "We really would like to see you in a new car.," flattering me and trying to charm me into giving them a yes, all while they were trying to pit me against my wife. A TOTAL TURNOFF. I don't need three people trying to convince me to make a purchase, especially threeA desperate sales people. (I say this from he point of view of having been in sales myself, so I knew their game.) But the service department was even worse. On two separate occasions, they attempted to bully her into getting additional, very expensive service that her car did not need. She was very suspicious because they were very pushy about it, so she took her care for a second opinion at Complete Automotive, a company that has a superior rating with Yelp and will not offer a service that a car does not need. They agreed that Maus was playing games with her. On another occasion, my wife wanted one thing done for service that only an authorized dealership would be able to do. I don't know exactly what was involved in it, but while doing their work, they came up with a list of numerous additional items that they said needed to be serviced, totalling around $6000. When she refused, the woman working with her became snide and pushy, and gave he an entire list of all that needed to be done, then insisted that my wife sign each item stating that she was refusing the service, WORSE, the woman told her that they would not return my wife's keys until she signed the papers. YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP! The commercials make the owner of this dealership look like the nice guy next door, but it all starts at the top. We noticed this type of behavior at BOTH of their stores, one in Brooksville the other in Pasco County. If he has true integrity (which I doubt), he would fire EVERYONE at his stores, from sales managers, to sales, to service managers and service workers and start from scratch. It would be great business decision and good for PR, but when has this dealership ever had integrity? STAY AWAY FROM MAUS!
