Good cash bar. Nothing fancy. Bartenders are friendly and offer a good value. There's one pool table in the back if you want to play

Not just a clever name because it's literally in a cellar…read more Great bar for a quick nightcap and people watching. The pours here are heavy handed which is a plus and the bartenders are super friendly. The layout is great, a few different seating areas with spacious couches and chairs that allow you to sip and watch the game comfortably. The music is ok if you're a lover of Sublime, Nickleback, and the occasional live rap battle. Seriously, this happened and it was awful. So bad in fact I threw up on my sweater, mom's spaghetti. ** Mic Drop **

I've watched this place change from a more traditional bar with pool tables in the back to what it is now, which is sort of a combination of hipster haunt (with preserves decorating the front wall and a great craft beer selection) and weekend club. Seriously, the DJ and the rap battle were not what I was expecting. I'll also give them props for being the only place that serves food past 10 pm in Sutter Creek, even if it is three different fried offerings of a combination of them together. For the most part, the layout is great, the bartenders cheerful, the patrons an interesting mix of regulars and out-of-towners. Even the random DJ'd mix and unintelligible rap freestyle were good conversation pieces.

Dive Bar somehow pulls off the impossible: it's a neighborhood hangout, a tourist attraction, a…read moredance floor, and a people-watching safari all at once. If you've read some of the one-star reviews, you'll notice a recurring theme: people are deeply offended that a bar contains loud music, dancing, crowds, and occasionally someone who has enjoyed the concept of "happy hour" a little too enthusiastically. That's a bit like giving the ocean one star because it's wet. What really makes Dive Bar special is the staff. After spending enough time there, I've gotten to know almost everyone by name--including the security crew. They are exactly what great security should be: friendly, welcoming, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone has a good time. And when someone decides the evening should revolve around them instead of the other hundred people trying to enjoy themselves, they handle it firmly, calmly, and without drama. Keeping a place fun sometimes means escorting an asshole to the exit, and they do it with remarkable professionalism. The bartenders keep things moving even when it's packed. The servers somehow manage to stay upbeat in the middle of controlled chaos. Everyone seems to understand that hospitality isn't just about serving drinks--it's about creating an atmosphere where strangers can relax, laugh, dance, and forget the outside world for a while. Dive Bar also captures something uniquely Sacramento. It's a little weird, a little flashy, wonderfully unpretentious, and right in the heart of K Street. You never know who you'll meet or what conversation you'll stumble into. College students, professionals, tourists, retirees, regulars--everyone mixes together because everyone is there for the same reason: to have fun. If you're looking for a quiet library, this isn't it. If you're looking for one of the liveliest places in Sacramento to dance, be silly, celebrate life, and remember that adults are allowed to have fun, Dive Bar absolutely delivers.
