Super easy and convenient. My stylist was Senait and she was fabulous! I showed her pictures of my past haircuts I liked and she did a superb job recreating it. She was friendly and talkative without feeling like she had to talk to me the entire time. She did a fantastic job and I will absolutely go back to see her again. The whole appointment (wash, cut, dry and style) took about an hour and cost $95 (I have relatively long hair, I believe they quote a price range to account for length). The salon itself was busy and a bit loud. It is very bright (likely because they do hair and makeup) and felt more like a party rather than a relaxing place/spa. They have a ton of staff so I was taken back right away. When I went, both men and women were there for haircuts and someone was getting their makeup done. I would absolutely go back and go to Senait again.

Believe me, Butterfly salon does just that and more (I had to go 10 weeks between cuts of my short, layered bob and it still kept its shape!) This salon cares about you. Of course there is water (flat and sparkling), wine and god knows what else to drink, a nice healthy snack and chocolate for the rest of us and they seem generally happy to see you (from receptionists to assistants to your personal stylists). My personal colorist, Raul the Remarkable, and stylist, Lei the Legendary, really listen to me and take care of me. For example, I have had a crap year so far, mother died, organizing her Celebration of Life and having a knee replaced, all before May. When they saw my cane and knee issue, they were so kind and gave me a nice deep conditioner on my hair to cheer me up. You can't get this in most salons in NYC. Yes, that NYC where people insist we are mean, there is an oasis of peace at Butterfly Salon.
