Food is ok, but owner is really rude and has a lot of anger. Wouldn't go back ever again

Super experience at this charming Hungarian restaurant in Bradenton…read more We have never tried Hungarian food, so this sparked our attention. Walked in and let them know it was our first time and Alexa took care of us all the way through. We ordered mushroom crepe that was very tasty. It was called Bakonyi Palacsinta. We shared our entree which was a potato crusted chicken with salad. This is called Karpati Borzacska. Both were amazing and tasty. The cherry on top was our dessert which is a chocolate rum sponge cake with walnut and raisin with chocolate syrup. Sounds rich right? It was not. It was a perfect balance and not too sweet believe it or not. It is called Somloi. The restaurant is charming and shows its Hungarian culture with additional market items on sale and it also shows its family background with the pictures by the bathroom. Loved our experience here and our service. Def happy our first Hungarian experience was right here.

Our appetizer choice was potato pancakes (latte style) with sour cream. This was good start, nicely done brown but not dried & crunchy. The chicken paprikash was on spaetzle with nice sauce and dallop of sour cream. There was plenty of chicken, but a little more sauce would have helped. The service was excellent and very personal. We were happy with value and quality of meal. We will return to try more. The blended Eastern European food we grew up around was different. This is more traditional.

Second Visit I have been back two times since my original…read morereview. The second time was with a friend for her birthday her choice. On this visit, we sat out front, which was clean with beautiful weather. I ordered the breakfast tacos, which had no meat just scrambled eggs. I added chopped bacon which didn't help much. The eggs tasted watered down. I've never seen breakfast tacos with no meat unless they were vegetarian. The prices should be more in line with what you're getting IMO. Third Visit On my most recent visit, I took my kids. They ordered the brioche French toast, which comes with two slices of French toast a few strawberries and blueberries. I ordered them a side of eggs scrambled not pictured. I ordered myself à la carte potatoes, and two eggs. Not impressed at all the eggs were supposed to be over easy and they had crispiness on the sides. My children did not like their scrambled eggs $6.94 for 3 eggs and non of us liked them. They tasted very watered down. I will say they did refund me on my 2 crispy eggs. We will not be going back anytime soon. Which is very unfortunate because this is in a great location, clean and the staff is very friendly. Their pricing for the quality is just way off. If you're charging $14 for 2pcs French toast and $7 for three eggs it should be mouth watering.

Cracker Barrel is a great consistent go-to for home style meals at reasonable prices…read more.. The Bradenton restaurant is tucked just off the I75 so it's easy to get here and back on the road.... The greeters are always friendly and smiling and I was seated right away. The waiter asked about a drink and I'd already planned on chicken and dumplings so I placed the food order at the same time. The decor of most of the restaurants are antique memorabilia that reminds me of a simpler time. The chairs are wooden and not super comfortable - maybe that's to keep things moving. The gift shop is always fun - the choices rotate and there always seems to be a section dedicated to local sports teams. The chicken and dumplings were good as normal, cornbread was warm enough to melt the butter and all in all a good meal.

A classic restaurant that I love coming to! It may be a chain, but it still has that same country…read morefeel to it! Brief Summary: This Cracker Barrel location holds them to their standards and delivers well on service, quality, and value! If you're a fan of country food, drop on by! Would I Recommend This Restaurant? Yes The Food: I've had a number of things here, and it's almost always delicious and fresh. The fried chicken is a classic, and their new burger with the fried egg on it is fabulous!!! This is in stark contrast to the burger I had last time that made me seriously regret getting a burger at Cracker Barrel. Occasionally, you get a side of dried okra or chicken tenders that feel a bit too small, but for the most part, they do quality pretty well! I'm also not a fan with how often they change the menu and remove classics or move them to certain days. I LOVE their pot pie, but they recently changed it to where you can only get it one day out of the week, and I HATE THAT!!! Because I'm never there on that day! Overall, the food is delicious, but just know that sometimes there will be a miss. They're always quick to correct it though, so kudos to them for their hospitality. Value: The price you pay for the amount of food you get is incredible! I've always thought that Cracker Barrel has had a great value proposition, and I still think that to this day. I leave fat and happy each time and all without breaking the bank! Service and Staff: The staff here are almost all perfect. They're all friendly, and mostly extremely knowledgeable. There is also a server named Randy that is as friendly as can be! Will be asking for him in the future! Just all smiles, very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! Location and Interior: The location is a bit tucked away, and the motels and stuff you drive past make you question how safe the area is, but the interior is just like any other Cracker Barrel. But I enjoy the familiarity of it. There's a certain feeling that Cracker Barrel gives you that just can't be fully put into words. But it's a feeling that makes me want to keep coming back. Final Thoughts: A beautiful location for a classic chain. Sit with Randy one time, and you'll be sitting with him for the rest of your life! Final Scores: Food - 7/10 Value - 5/5 Service/Staff - 4/5 Location/Interior 4/5 Total 20/25 = 4/5 Stars Stay fresh Mother Fooders! :p
