Patrons are assigned a bed (A, B, C, or D) and locker. Though my bed was short-sheeted, it was clean and cozy. Each visitor also receives a clean, replaceable towel and blanket. Despite there being lots of patrons, the dorm rooms were quiet and I felt safe leaving my belongings in my room unattended. Each room has its own lock. The bathroom, surprisingly, even had soap, shampoo, and paper towels. It had two showers, two toilets, and two sinks. Unfortunately, the toilets were not enclosed so it was a bit uncomfortable doing business with others in the room. There is a nice living room where quite a few guests can lounge on couches and watch Netflix. The kitchen is big and well equipped for making your own meals. Additionally, the cabinets are stocked with leftover foods from former guests similar to hiker boxes. You might even find someone left some wine, beer, or hooch for those arriving after they left. Unfortunately, there is a bit of a smell as if there's been quite a few Indian meals cooked in that kitchen. The staff was kind and helped me organize transportation to my hiking trail. And, I had to change my reservation several times due to area fires and was not charged or treated rudely because I needed to make the changes. I would definitely stay here again!

At no point did we get upset, but we were trying come up with problem solving solutions by asking if we could rebook either with her or online. As she was saying she couldn't open the booking program and denying us a reservation, she opened the program and took our reservation. I am grateful we ended up with a place to stay, but was offended at the attitude that we were given.

There are nice amenities including a walking trail, campfire area, laundry, foosball, spa, and café. The café served a great breakfast, though dinner was just okay. The steak could've used more seasoning, and the noodle dish was average. Both meals were generous portions. We did have an issue at the spa during the muscle rejuvenation soak, as both of us had an allergic reaction. We weren't able to use the hot tub or sauna afterward, which was disappointing. However, we spoke with the owners and they agreed to refund us- still pending as of September 2, but I appreciate that they took responsibility. Another plus is that the resort is only about 15 minutes from Mariposa, where you can find unique shops and restaurants. Overall, we wouldn't mind staying here again, though the drive back and forth from Yosemite did get a bit tiring.

I'm so glad we stayed here. We were two adults and one child and stayed in a private family room with one bed and a bunk bed. The bunk beds have little curtains which our kiddo liked. I didn't totally trust that the barrier on the top bunk was high enough to prevent my kiddo from falling off so I had her sleep in the bottom bunk. The room was small but we knew that and it was enough space for three of us. We loved how it was decorated down to the individually wrapped towels in the bathroom. No TV which I also liked and forced us to hang out together! We were on the second floor and there were comfy rocking chairs on the deck where we sat at night and enjoyed our wine. We were able to borrow the wine glasses in the community kitchen which was very convenient. We also spent time on the couches outside the kitchen and the Adirondack chairs in the yard - just a lot of open places to hang out which was nice. The airstream store is super cute. We didn't get a chance to try their coffee but did buy one of the treats and also some gifts from the gift shop and played yard games in front. Schatt's bakery is next door which was a nice bonus and we grabbed breakfast there in the morning and brought it back. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Walking distance to the bowling alley where we went for a couple hours to play and also get a delicious steak (yes from the bowling alley cafe - no joke!). We'd definitely stay here again when passing through Bishop.

Some people and places come into your life for a reason…read more We had a good feeling about Cyndi's from the beginning. From the moment we rolled in, we relaxed our breath into the cradling caring arms of Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Natural darkness descending around us- Robert was quick to invite us into the warmly lit communal lodge area, which was brimming with personality. He showed us a fun silverware balancing bar trick, while Lucky the dog, looked on with heavy lidded amusement. We were the only ones staying at the lodge that night. Our room was darling and clean and smelled fresh. The wi-fi was working well. We slept unbelievably well. Showering was a dream in the morning with strong hot water pressure. Cindi brought us up fresh squeezed orange juice and invited us down for a hot lovingly made breakfast spread - which included hot waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and light potatoes. We also indulged in wondrous coffee and an impressive selection of tea. Cindy even had Pink Himalayan Salt on hand for us to adorn our food - which we indulged in both there and on our backpacking adventure. Cyndi and the rest of the loving folk who help run this charming lodge take immense care and pride in making sure that all those who stay here feel welcomed and taken care of. They go out of their way to make everyone's stay both memorable and comfortable. We can't wait to come back to Cyndi's Snowline Lodge. Trust.

We visited Vermilion over the Labor Day weekend and on the Friday we arrived, our dog Aztec passed…read moreaway. It was a traumatic experienced for all of us there. Raven, one of the camp hosts arrived and attempted to resuscitate him but our pet was gone. Raven did what he could to give Aztec dignity and preserve him until we could make it down the mountain. He also went over and beyond to comfort our family in such a difficult time. I cannot thank the staff at Vermilion for the true warmth and comfort we were provided in our time of need. I didn't get the name of the wonderful woman working the Cafe register on Friday night of 8/30. She also went over and beyond in assisting us with reaching our son and ease my pain. You are all amazing. The campground is as beautiful as the people there.

The last day we were there, smoke from fires south of the Kings Canyon rolled in. But wasnt bad. The camp host was very informative-and nice. Did not see any bears. And some mosquitos..! Great hikes. go to Devil bathtub. and others if possible. Mono Hot springs was nice as well. stop in Fresno and Take plenty of food and water as the campstore is very expensive. The road to get there is one lane and you will need an SUV or a truck. Be careful and drive slow!!

Heavy winds from 20-30 miles per hour with gusts ranging from 40-50 mph. I checked CalTrans every hour over night and they finally made the call for chains required on the 395, travel cautiously if you must drive warning. Crystal was very helpful and understanding of the weather situation along with delays in driving. I have never driven in those conditions and every forum related to mammoth mountain (Facebook and Instagram) said it was safe to stay out if you weren't in Mammoth already. Crystal, with the help of my Expedia agent, refunded my reservation despite their cancellation policy. Thank you so much Crystal! We were booked in suite 5, which does NOT look anything like the room shown on the website. It is old, dark and dingy. Even the front door lock was loose (as mentioned by another reviewer). I had made the reservations for my friend and me, and when we walked into suite 5, we both just deflated at how junky it looked. I wanted to show my friend how it didn't look anything like the website, but their internet didn't work at all until the next morning. The outdoor area is not lit up and welcoming, but dark and deserted. We made the best of it for that night, and in the morning, I contacted the owner via text. When I said that the room looked nothing like the rooms shown on the website, the reply was, "All of our rooms are different." So why don't they show photos of all of their rooms??? They offered to move us to another room, and I requested one that looks like the one on the website. They instructed me to find the key for suite 1, and that room was great! Looked just like the website, and was exactly what we were expecting. It was weird that this room was not rented out, but yet they didn't put us in that room in the first place. I later learned that we were charged $199 for the first night junky room, and $109 for the second night room that looked like the one on the website. That was contrary to what I remembered from the price listing on the website when I made the reservation, which I believe was $159 per night. But when you receive your confirmation email, there are no prices listed at all. I know it comes out to the same price, but it's very strange that the price/total isn't listed on your confirmation email. I would have asked if I had noticed it before we arrived. I really wanted to like this inn, but next time, I'll just stay in the heated cabins in Yosemite Valley for $155/night. The one-hour drive to the valley from this place wasn't worth it for us. If you're going to stay here, ask them specifically what room you will be in and if it's one that looks like the ones on the website. If not, consider staying elsewhere.
