I ordered the burnt ends. What can I say, they were tender and perfect. I was having dinner with my dad. He asked the waiter where the long ends were on the menu. The waiter said they removed that item a while back. But, he said just tell me what you want and they will make it. The long ends were also tender and as my dad said "the meatiest ribs I've ever had". My only comment is that the sauce is not my favorite. It's good but I'm just a Bryant's sauce fan. Yes! A new location in Lee's Summit and it is huge! Lots of seating and good ol' Kansas City Barbecue to have here! We sat down pretty quickly for our dinner on a Tuesday night...not even at 10 minute wait at 7:30 for dinner...thank goodness cuz as soon as you walk in the door and you smell the bbq it makes your mouth water! I decided to order the sampler which comes with three meats and two small sides. You get your choice of burnt ends and you can substitute the small sides for a large side for a small charge. Let's start off with the meat: The ribs (best) - great flavor with not too much sauce. It comes with three ribs with a good amount of meat on each bone. Burnt ends - I went with beef (you could choose other meat, like pork, but I already had the ribs) and it was very tender, nice chunks of beef. You get about 6-8 chunks of meat. BBQ Chicken - standard. Not dry yet not really moist, but you know how chicken gets...not the easiest to cook without it getting a little dry, especially since I ordered white meat (breast and wing). The sides: I do not like Cabbage Slaw so I opted to substitute and pay a little extra ($2.75) for the broccoli. Totally worth it since I dislike slaw and love trees! :) I kept the french fries (I'm on vacation) which were great with the seasoning that the provide at the tables then dipped in BBQ sauce! We had to request for additional BBQ sauce, so we tried the original, spicy, and hot. Each of us then picked our favorite. Mine was the hot. I put it on everything! Stuffed by the end of this meal...I ended up taking some home with me because I just couldn't eat anymore! With a glass of cider and water...my tummy was so full you had to roll me outta there! Absolutely tasty and all for under $40! I just have a genuine love for KC BBQ...especially when I don't get it but once a year when I come home for a visit. read more

The smoked chicken salad was great, very fresh. The brisket and smoked turkey sandwich was delicious as well. We were there in time to order happy hour and take advantage of the lunch menu, but we were not offered the happy hour menu. Some other folks came in and our server immediately mentioned the happy hour menu. We asked her when happy hour started and the waitress stated 3:00pm. So we asked to see the menu. All Handcrafted drinks were $2 off per the happy hour menu. When we ask the waitress about taking the two dollars off, we were told our hand crafted drink was not a part of the all handcrafted drinks with two dollars off. I stayed it to her well your menu says all handcrafted drinks. She reluctantly took the two dollars off. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I was talking to my realtor friend about great places to eat around the country and mentioned I'd be in Kansas City soon. Having lived there for a decade, my friend strongly recommended Jack Stack barbecue. He was a regular patron of the Overland Park location, but we found one in Lee's Summit which was closer to our route of travel. My friend said the lamb ribs were unmatched in deliciousness and my family all agreed! We ordered the Taste of KC Platter for 3 and a side order of 10 lamb ribs. The platter contained brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, and chicken wings. Excepting the brisket, which was very moist but mild flavored, everything was so full of flavor we didn't need to use their delicious barbecue sauces. We also enjoyed an appetizer of pork and beef burnt ends, but had no room for dessert. We will be back! read more

I've wanted to try some really good authentic Kansas City barbecue for a long time now, and while I've yet to sample some of the all-time classics I always hear about like Gates Bar-B-Q, Arthur Bryant's, and Oklahoma Joe's, today it was going to be Jack Stack Barbecue. The aroma of a plethora of smoked meats surrounded us as soon as we climbed out of the truck. That distinct smoke smell can only mean one thing: this is the real stuff. A life-size bronze bull sculpture stands guard at the front of the restaurant. If there was ever any doubt about what kind of food awaited you inside, this should put those questions to rest. We were greeted immediately as soon as we entered and luckily there was no wait. The girls at the host stand were all friendly. After requesting a booth we were taken to a perfect spot by the windows. The restrooms were immaculate and obviously well taken care of. It is clear to me that this restaurant is run effectively and efficiently. It was around 1pm so I decided to order something off the lunch menu. When my waitress learned that it was my first visit to Jack Stack she immediately recommended the combo plate that included two choices of meats and two sides. That sounded like a good place for someone to begin their introduction to Jack Stack in my opinion. I ordered the pork burnt ends and beef brisket, with sides of French fries and baked beans. The atmosphere in the place is great. This is definitely on the high end for a barbecue place. Usually I prefer those small mom and pop joints or small family-run places where you feel like you're getting the real thing. But don't get me wrong, Jack Stack was great. The burnt ends were good. A little fatty in my opinion, but maybe I just got a bad order. The beef brisket had the distinct pink smoke ring that any good barbecue aficionado would look for when judging whether this was worthy of being called the real thing. I do have to say that the side of baked beans were absolutely amazing. Usually beans are just that, beans. But I would argue this was probably the best baked beans I've ever had. Period. The fries were good, and the Jack Stack Fry Seasoning they have on the table was great. One final thing. It's not often I eat barbecue without smothering it in whatever different barbecue sauces I can get my hands on. This was one of those rare occasions I did not. The meat was just so good on its own that I didn't feel the need to alter it at all. We did ask for a sample of their "spicy barbecue sauce" after our order reached the table but I only used a small spoon of it on my entire plate. Good job Jack Stack! The service was excellent. My water was filled when half empty. My waitress even boxed up some of the leftovers for us. I did feel like the prices were too expensive here. Lunch for three people totaled almost $50 BEFORE TIP and all we ordered were waters to go along with our lunch specials. No desserts. usually Jack stack is my go to spot! everything is always superb! tonight I door dashed food to my home because I didn't feel like leaving home! and my food was gross! the beef ribs were so burnt and over cooked. absolutely no meat on the bones! the lamb ribs were only slightly better! I spent 60 bucks for a bag of really over cooked dry meat and I was highly disappointed! the only good part was my potato salad and Cole slaw! which is what made me give it 2 stars! that entire entree went straight to the garbage can! Visited this spot on a Saturday night, wait was about 40 minutes but it was worth it. Plenty of shops to run into around there to kill the time while they text you. This was our first experience with Kansas City BBQ and we all enjoyed our meal very much. Three of us went simple with the pulled pork sandwich and the corn side was really tasty with the sandwich. It was a healthy portioned sandwich too, like a six inch sub size and had plenty of pork. My husband and our oldest son split the taste of Kansas City I think it was called which had ribs, wings, brisket, and three sides on it. They enjoyed all very much, though they did need to ask for extra sauce on the side. My wife and I came for a Mother's Day meal a few days early. We planned to eat outside, but the patio was fully enclosed since the weather is still cool. I haven't been fully vaccinated, so we arranged for takeout. My wife, who uses a walker, went in to place our order and was helped by the manager Lauren. We stopped in to the Lees Summit location for dinner about 5:30 pm and it was packed! Wait time of 35 minutes was pretty much spot on. Even the bar was packed, so we browsed the menu while waiting. It smells amazing in here! Got seated and our waitress was friendly and helpful about our need for gluten free items. We weren't starved so shared the Jack's best platter (or something like that!) with a giant beef rib, some pork ribs and beef burnt ends and several sides. I don't think I've ever tasted burnt ends like these-perfect spice and so tender. The giant rib was like a tender juicy roast (not like the old dry roasts we used to eat after church on Sunday!). The baked beans were hearty and so tasty. Loved the season salt at the table and the sauces. Got a piece of carrot cake to share with friends later-it was pretty good (but my sister makes it better-lol)! Super meal, worth the wait. read more

You already know the food here is amazing, but did you know that the service is equally amazing?! We waited for an hour and while waiting outside on the patio a server came out a number of times to ask if we needed anything. It was a tad bit chilly so I ordered hot chocolate and he said he could figure that out as it wasn't on their menu, and he did! Now we were seated and Kelsey came over and shined! We never felt neglected which can happen when a restaurant is full as it was. She and her team never let our drinks go empty. She laughed with us as we are always joking in my family. She even told us that our table was delightful. It's service like that that gets you more than a 20 percent tip! Way to Jack Stack for being well staffed! Oh and CARROT CAKE! read more

Very, very good BBQ. Nice decor and great staff. I think they sell lots of burnt ends, because most of the time they are not as "burnt endy" as some other places that sell them until they run out. Jack Stack's burnt ends have quite a bit of juicy tender meat in the middle of the chunks. The brisket, however you get it, has nice bark and is tender and tasty. Amazing place. The food and service are outstanding. We got the 'cue for two that comes with 4 meats and 3 large sides. We got the pulled pork, beef burnt ends, pork spare ribs, and bbq chicken. My husband and I can put away some food, and we were so full and had leftovers at the end of the night. It's hard to decide which meat is the best, but the beef burnt ends melt in your mouth.
