Silber Spoons catered our wedding in July and we had a phenomenal experience. After meeting with several caterers, we decided to go with Mike and his team because he was straight forward and has a "how can I help" attitude. Most caterers we met with we felt like we were just another wedding and with Mike he took the time to deeply understand our needs and he definitely delivered. There was no hidden cost and he charged very little for (set-up, tear-down, cleaning) what other caterers charged an arm and a leg for. Beyond the service, Mike's food is amazing. A month later we still have guests calling us telling us how much they loved the food. The meat was tender, all of the ingredients were fresh, and the menu was diverse yet refined. You will get 5 star quality foods at a fraction of the cost. On a personal note, we had an emergency an hour before the wedding was supposed to start and couldn't get into our reception hall to take pictures. Mike stopped what he was doing and drove immediately over to our reception hall to let us in. Not only is he a tremendous chef and caterer, but he is a great person and goes over and beyond expectations without hesitation. There may be no such thing as an A++, but Mike Silber and his team at Silber Spoons deserve nothing less for their service on our wedding day. From coming to our house for the tasting to catering to our every request for the big day, Mike did an awesome job! Food is a huge part of a wedding reception and our guests were floored! Coming from a family that hosts ONLY plated dinner receptions and then choosing a venue (Club 1000) that can only accommodate buffets, we really had to prove ourselves. We received so many compliments from our guests on the food and the professionalism of the Silber Spoons staff, we were beyond pleased with our decision to go with Silber Spoons. Mike and his team plated dinners for the head table and parent's table. The rest of our guests (approximately 125 people) were served buffet style by white-gloved servers. We chose herb seasoned chicken breast, bbq brisket,mashed potatoes, and mixed seasoned veggies. Each table was fully set (plates, utensils, napkins, etc) and had a garden salad, Caesar salad, and rolls for guests to start dinner while waiting to be called to the buffet. It went SEAMLESSLY! Mike Silber of Silber Spoons catered my daughter's wedding July 6, 2012! He and his staff were amazing! I first met with him about a year before the wedding when he came to my home for a tasting. We stayed in touch for many months, and then several months ago he met me at the event space we were using. He helped me plan out exactly where everything should go and what the plan for the evening should be. We had him do his pasta bar and it was a wonderful choice! The food was outstanding. Everyone absolutely loved it! I had a ton of people ask me who my caterer was and where I found him. He also provided bartenders and servers, drink setups and tablecloths. Pretty much anything that anyone would need. His entire staff went above and beyond what was expected of them, often knowing what we might need or want before we even realized it. I think the thing that impressed me the most was when I asked him if he could light all the candles I had set up all over the room and his response was "absolutely, I work for you and I will do anything that you need me to do!" I coordinate events for a big agency in the Plaza and used Silber Spoons for a charity event that we had in our lobby. I was referred to Silber Spoons by another planner and was pleasantly surprised about how much information I learned from their website before I even called. Once I spoke to Mike he was able to answer all the questions that I had and gave me good suggestions regarding the setup etc. Mike also handled all the arrangements with Celebrations Party Rental which was one less thing that I had to deal with. As far as the food goes, it was fabulous! I would say that a must is the chicken skewers, we had a couple left over for the office the next day and everyone could not had more great things to say! Silber Spoons catered my daughter's wedding this past weekend on Mother's Day. The food was excellent and the service was great. We had a wide assortment of items from standard veggie/fruit platters to stuffed mushrooms/peppers to skewered chicken and more. All of it was delicious and there was plenty of it.
