They did our wedding in August and we had BBQ food and it was so good!! Their baked potato casserole is so awesome!!! We had BBQ: Smoked chicken, brisket and pork. Along with a very nice salad and delicious dressings, baked potato casserole, mac and cheese, and hickory baked beans. Everyone loved the food and kept asking who the caterer was. Also had some appetizers that everyone loved too! They were gone so quick, everyone must have been hungry. Had a fruit platter, sausage and crackers platter and cheese platter. Woody the owner is so nice and helpful. I also picked up 2 sides on Tuesday for Christmas!! (See pics, they were in a huge aluminum pan but I scooped some out to put in containers to give to someone else.) Their employees did a great job, they were all young but good work ethic. Woody and crew arrived 2 hours early to cater my son's wedding due to a miscommunication. (Not their fault) Woody's crew literally spent the next 2 hours helping with everything from tending the bar to moving tables!! None of it was their job. They just pitched in and did it!! I spent 2 weeks getting a proposal for a party of 75. When I asked for a few things to be removed from the proposal the 2nd proposal came back more than the first. I emailed her and asked why. The response was, That is the best pricing that we can do. If we are out of budget then best of wishes to you and your event! Never answered one question. I'm glad to find out before the event. Taylor made catering was the caterer for a wedding and four years later people still talk about the excellent food they had at our wedding. I first had the experience of taste testing them at a wedding fair, and booked them basically the same day. When we went in for a tasting of their different entrée selections, they offered us beer and wines that we could see what would go well with each course. They also did pass around for our guests which was excellent. They were on time, professional and all looked very neat. Would highly recommend using Taylor made catering for any event, and there prices were also very reasonable given the quality and excellent customer service we received. read more

Used Taylor Made Catering for our wedding reception. First, our contract stated that Taylor Made Catering would provide service from 7 to 10pm. Around 8:30pm they came to us asking when they could tear down the food and buffet table down as they stated "because I don't want to be here all night" and "no one has touched the food for the last 30 minutes". Dumbfounded by why we were bothered by this during the middle of our reception we agreed to 9pm (not having the contract in front of us to see it stated otherwise). Second, we had food left over. I believe it is customary to box up whatever food we have paid for so we can decide what we would like to do with it. I thought they threw it away...worse...they took it with them! Third, we paid them $100 to flip the room. This involved setting up 2 round tables and moving all of the chairs that were used during the ceremony around the tables and extras dispersed around the room. The 2 tables were put up and chairs were put around them. However the other 40-50 chairs were left just sitting in their same spots from the ceremony. My family and bridal party ended up having to move them all. Food was good...service was awful!! read more

Taylor Made Catering provided wonderful, great quality food for our wedding on August 2, 2014 at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City, KS. As a military wife, I called myself the "long distance wedding planning" as we were planning a Kansas wedding while stationed out in San Diego, CA. With this being said, I didn't get to go to tastings with my husband to try out food we would want for our wedding. It was hard to find someone we trusted. After having my mind almost set on choosing a major grocery store (i.e. HyVee or Price Chopper) to cater our big day, I got a correspondence from Terry at Taylor Made Catering via e-mail. It could not have came at any better of a time! Terry was amazing to work with! We weren't able to come in and taste the food, but after reading reviews online and hearing from Terry, I knew this was our best bet! Terry even suggested that we could come in for a taste test the week before the wedding when we would both be in town. There was no need for it. After getting to meet Terry in person, we knew he was going to be a great asset to our big event! We started with a total headcount of around 130 guests, and we had to bump the number up because of last minute RSVP's and ending up having around 175 guests. This was no problem for Taylor Made Catering. They also assured us that they would bring extra food just in case we had any extra show up unexpected. We had 2 entrée items, 2 sides, and a salad and dinner roll served by the professional staff from the company. They came in at an appropriate time and set all of the food up, served everyone that came through the buffet line, cleaned up the plates from the tables, and even packaged up all of the leftovers! They went above and beyond! I would recommend Taylor Made Catering for any small or big event. We got so many compliments on the food and service. We were very, very pleased! read more

Taylor Made Catering is incredible! We first met them at one of the bridal shows and were impressed by how polite the servers were. We then started communicating with Terry via email and he was incredibly nice and very helpful. At our tasting, we loved every thing that Woody prepared for us; it was very difficult to narrow down our choices! We decided to go with Taylor Made the day of our tasting, they were THAT good. From tasting to a few days before the wedding we emailed back and forth with Taylor Made to make sure all parties had all the necessary details; Terry responded to all of my emails very quickly. Then a few days before our wedding, Woody called and went over every single detail for our big day. He wanted to know EVERYTHING, and wanted to make sure that we knew everything from their side so there wouldn't be any surprises. The night of our event, they brought all of their equipment in and set everything up before I even knew it. I was amazed at how quickly set up and tear down went; and how quietly. I was pleasantly surprised that Woody was there. I assumed that they would have several servers present and coordinating everything; but Woody, one of the owners of the company, was there all evening. That was just amazing. Woody went around the room all evening making sure that everyone had everything they needed, talked to all of our guests, and really made an incredible impression. He even brought my husband and my food to us - who does that! Above and beyond my expectations. I am so incredibly glad that we found this company, we had a fantastic experience with them and we will use them for every event we can! Through our whole planning process I have been incredibly impressed with how polite everyone at Taylor Made Catering is. They treat you like friends as opposed to just customers. Woody and his team delivered some of the most outstanding food, not only from a catering company, but in general. If you get a chance to work with these wonderful people. Even if you need to create an awesome life event that needs catering, do it! Taylor Made is worth it! We first started talking to Woody about food for our wedding about seven months before hand. He invited us to a tasting and treated us like royalty! Made some of the finest food I've ever had and sent us home with tons and tons of leftover food! Throughout the entire process, he told us that he wanted us to feel like he is part of the family, and boy was that true! He was so incredibly accommodating the entire time! We ended up using his barbecue menu, so that are out of town guests could get a real taste of Kansas City, and every single person without fail said that they loved the food! Some of whom I would consider barbecue connoisseurs! Woody also catered our rehearsal dinner, got a good appetizer spread for the cocktail hour at the reception, as well as made pizzas for a late night snack. His prices are very affordable, his service is unmatched (Believe me, we looked around and found no one even close to his level of attention to detail), and the food was outstanding! We recently catered an office lunch for about 160 people. We chose the Italian menu from the website but we also needed some modifications. The staff at Taylor Made were able work with us to get what we needed and they were able to provide chafing dishes instead of trays since our lunch is served over a three hour period. My interactions with the owner and the people who delivered the food were courteous and easy on my end. When I order for our office I am always worried I didn't order enough food but they arrived with enough food to feed all of our employees with enough leftovers to feed the employees into the next day. Drop off and pick up was a breeze. The people who dropped off the food set out all of the food and made sure we had what we needed before they left and made sure to set up a time to return and pickup the items they left with us. We had many compliments on the food that day. I even got a follow up call after everything was done to make sure everything went right. Overall a great experience and we would definitely order from this caterer again. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. We set up a tasting with the owner of Taylor Made. A few hours before the tasting he abruptly called and canceled. We immediately set another appointment for a month later, as that was the earliest time he could do. On the date of the new meeting, my fiancé and I drove an hour to arrive at a closed and locked up business. When I called the owner to see if someone planned to meet us he didn't remember making the meeting and denied making it!
