We got a prompt response from Crown Home Improvement and the owner took the time to come up and paint the ceiling himself because of our short turnaround time. I hired Crown Home Improvement in summer 2020 to repair some minor roof damage from a recent…read morewindstorm. Douglas showed up immediately, provided a very timely estimate, and was able to get started on the work very soon thereafter. From initial consultation to start of the work, everything was smooth and very simple - he explained very clearly what was needed and kept making sure I had no questions. During the same visit, as he was assessing the roof on my garage, he inquired if I ever considered a skylight for the bonus room. In like manner, he had an assessment and estimate in my hands and, after I agreed, likewise made a point to begin the work as soon as he could. I've attached pictures to show progress. I am beyond pleased with the final product. Not only did they install a beautiful skylight, they repainted the rest of the wall to match and the finished work looks as if it were installed as part of the original bonus room. Douglas and his team clearly know roofing, windows, and framing. And their skills back up their work. To make things even better, when a subsequent wind & rain storm resulted in a few drips on the sides of the skylight, Douglas and team were back within days to reassess their work - they removed the skylight, re-checked and shored up the lining, and reinstalled the window in less than a day at no additional cost. Douglas and his company stand by their word and their work. It is a lost attribute in this world of service-providers, and thus working with them was refreshing. Looking forward to the next project where I can bring them in.

We actually got their name directly from the deck manufacturer, who told us Boston Framers was excellent and highly recommended them. After working with them, I can see why. They started exactly when they said they would and showed up every day to keep the job moving. They even worked some weekends to get everything completed, which we really appreciated. Their carpenters were excellent. The workmanship was meticulous, the materials were all top quality, and you could tell they really cared about doing the job right. The price was very competitive, especially for the quality of work we received. I also made a few minor changes along the way, and they were very easy to work with and accommodated the changes without adding extra charges. It's not easy to find a contractor that is reliable, fairly priced, uses quality materials, and takes this much pride in their work. Boston Framers checked all those boxes for us. We're extremely happy with our new deck and would absolutely recommend Boston Framers to anyone considering a deck or other construction project. Five stars without hesitation.

They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

We had Nick and Chuck working on the deck build with support people on the team as well. They worked so hard to make everything asked of them happen and my vision come to life. Any concerns they fixed. They customized a gate, they lowered the deck height to accommodate the pool. Changed the steps. Designed around level changes. Cut so cleanly around the pool edges. It's solid and feels so good walking up and down it. It's gorgeous. I'm so happy. Thank you for everything! Decking is MoistureShield. Meridian, color Mariner. Pressure treated railings.

Rob and his team at RP Wilkinson Construction were incredible, from the first point of contact with…read moreRob, to the final clean-up of the site when they were finished. Here are some of the reasons why: Responsiveness and Communication: When we initially called Rob for an estimate, he got back to us that same day. Throughout the process, he let us know exactly where they were at with the project. Thorough Estimate: Rob came over and performed a three hour estimate/consultation with us, free of charge. He left no rock unturned, telling us all of our different options (from a pressure treated wood deck to a Trex deck with all of the different options and colors that come with it) and the pros and cons of each. There was absolutely no pressure to up-sell, which leads to the next point: Complete Willingness to Work - and Stay - Within Our Budget: We told Rob what our budget was and he maximized the deck space within it. Quality of Construction: The deck was impeccably designed and built. His three man team worked their tails off every day. Mike, the "quarterback" of the team, has built hundreds of decks, to give you a sense of how much experience they have. Complete Satisfaction: After the final walk-through, Rob told us that if we later see something that doesn't look right, we should call him and he will come out and make it right. That gave us peace of mind. When the job was finished, their clean-up was so meticulous that there wasn't a trace that any construction had just been performed. They even took a Shop Vac to our yard to collect the remaining sawdust! And finally, Rob is a Genuinely Nice Guy: Here is an example. Somehow, we got to talking about how my basement has been flooding and Rob recommended a product to seal the crack in the wall. Then he even offered to buy a tube of the sealant from the hardware store that he had to buy some stuff from that day. Or, another example: there was a little space left over in the dumpster that they used to throw away the debris from the old deck. Rob asked us if we had anything that we wanted to throw away before they removed the dumpster. Acts of kindness like that really made an impression. I strongly recommend calling Rob for an estimate if you are thinking about building a new deck. We couldn't be happier.
