The quality really stands out--especially the homemade tortillas, which take everything to the next level. The al pastor and carne asada are both incredible, packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I also love that the al pastor is cooked authentically on a spit, which really adds to the flavor and experience. There's also a great variety of options on the menu, so there's something for everyone. Service is consistently quick, even when it's busy, which makes it a great spot whether you're grabbing a quick meal or sitting down to enjoy your food. Their Taco Tuesday deal is also a huge win--great value without sacrificing quality, and it keeps us coming back regularly. And the salsa deserves its own shoutout--absolutely incredible! It's packed with flavor and honestly good enough that you could enjoy it on its own. It really takes everything to the next level. If you're looking for authentic-style tacos with great flavor, fresh ingredients, fast service, and awesome specials, Tacos Tijuana is a must-visit. Easily one of my top spots in the area!

The restaurant is clean, the seating area is comfortable, and they have an extensive menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. There are so many choices that it's going to take several visits to try everything! My mom ordered the chicken enchiladas, and she absolutely loved them. The portion of chicken was generous, and the enchiladas had the perfect level of spice--not too mild and not overpowering. I had the birria quesadilla tacos, and they were absolutely stunning! Honestly, they are easily in my top two birria tacos I've ever had. The flavor was incredible, and I'm already looking forward to having them again. My son had two beef tacos, which he enjoyed as well. The menu is huge, and there are so many things I want to try on our next visit. I cannot wait to come back for the birria pizza! The food, portions, cleanliness, and especially the customer service were all excellent. I'm honestly surprised this place isn't busier because it deserves to be! If you're in Mesa and looking for great Mexican food with plenty of options, Tacos y Huaraches El Gordo is definitely worth checking out.

We ordered the #1 Birria Tacos with consommé and a fountain drink, along with the chicken burritos since they were on sale too. Overall, the flavors were good. The spicy red and green sauces that came with the burritos really elevated them, although the chicken itself was a bit dry. The red sauce has a nice kick that leaves a slight tingle on your lips without being overwhelming. The birria tacos were the highlight. The rich consommé and melted cheese complemented the tacos well and made for a satisfying bite. Overall, it was a good meal, but without the sauces, the chicken lacked a bit of moisture and flavor. Even so, it definitely hit the spot and satisfied our taco craving. We'd order again--especially if another BOGO deal comes around.

The only downside is that this place is not cheap. The Birria taco combo was $17 each. If you come on Monday then it's $3 off. There's a different special each day. The food came pretty quick but we were there for a late lunch (after 1pm) so it was empty when we arrived. Other reviews said the tacos were small or didn't have enough meat, but I thought they were fine. I will probably be back again because I like Birria tacos.
