Absolutely the WORST service at any fast food establishment I've ever been to. Terrible service, dirty dining area, even dirtier bathrooms. Over the 25 minutes we were there (we ordered to go), two things happened that infuriated me. One employee had a customer waiting for his to-go order for 15 mins before realizing she had called out the wrong number and had handed his order to someone else. Her response to his complaint was (with the worst attitude ever) "no, we already called that order out", as if he was trying to trick them into a double meal. There was a 5-minute back and forth, with the employee refusing to admit that she made a mistake --- as if all 4 of us different parties present incorrectly heard the order and were out to trick her. The other is an issue of safety - and how the employees responded to customer complaints about the lack of lighting in the parking lot. It was about 10pm, pitch black outside, and all exterior lights on the lot had randomly turned off. Keep in mind this location is in the middle of nowhere with only a dim Valero next door. Several customers voiced their concerns to employees - letting them know it is impossible to see outside and was very dangerous for any pedestrians in the parking lot. That same employee rudely shouted out "WHO CARES??" A second employee just laughed and walked away. A third employee responded in an its-not-my-problem attitude saying "there's nothing I can do about it". These employees have NO idea what they are doing or how to interact with customers. The restaurant and their attitudes were a filthy mess. 0 stars if I could. read more

Extremely slow in drive through. Was on a trip with the kids and as indecisive as they are we change one order to an upgade. Trinity had a problem with it and ask "are you sure this time?" Very rude, extremely horrible experience. Seldom do i put only 1 start but i think it was well deserved. I dont think jack in the box is for me anymore. read more

Was hesitant to eat here but had to get something at 4am. The lady at the window was polite and nice. She even said have a safe drive. Really good touch and much appreciated. The tacos were freshly made and not sitting in the hit box for an hour. Glad i got something from here. read more

At the bottom of the Grapevine you will find Jack in the Box if you need a quick bite or a pit stop. Going from southern to northern Cali is the time the family and I do our junk food runs. Jack in the Box is on our list of places to stop because of the variety of food. Okay burgers, curly fries, pita sandwiches, the Sourdough Jack, low prices and we discovered grilled chicken. So I came to jack in the box. And I order or whatever. And I notice this older short lady was being disrespectful to her employee( she looked new ) and I went up to get my missing tacos and the nice young girl told her nicely and she literally replied with " well she can wait" so rude. Then she saw that I was there and she change her attitude but that doesn't slide with me. First and last visit to this place around Laval Road and the Grapevine - this Jack in the Box is suppose to be one of about three places (others being Denny's and Iron Skillet) that are open 24/7. I rolled in around 430a in the morning but they couldn't take my order because they were rebooting their systems. Lastly, it is the most inconvenient location in this pit stop area - if you're coming from North, you have to do a long roundabout just to get there, and it isn't clearly located unlike the main fast food places on Laval. At least the employees were genuinely sorry and apologizing for the inconvenience but at this point I'll rather stop at Denny's or Iron Skillet because at least they'll be reliable and not waste my time. read more

The floors are filthy, the line to order was ridiculous. Someone literally swept by my feet while I'm sitting. Over priced for such poor standards. Uuuugh! Avoid! Avoid! This is the only fast food spot at this exit but as bad luck would have it there were at least 4 more options (including an In-N-Out, Habit Burger and Popeyes one exit north by the outlets) that we didn't see until it was too late. If you need to stop for a bio-break don't do it here. The ladies' room was filthy, rusting and you could tell they simply "clean" the bare minimum. But at least there was no foul odor. My husband went to the men's room and returned out of breath - claiming a "putrid" smell, no paper towels and equally dirty experience. Don't recommend this as a rest stop for myself or any child. Drive a bit further. Funny enough, a group of foreigners, I can only assume visiting from abroad, came in and started taking pictures of the place. *hides face* Geeeesh, I hope this isn't their only experience with American chains. BTW- food was as to be expected and service was okay. We should really be able to have a negative star review I don't even wanna give them one star I ordered two egg sausage croissants and I did say with cheese I got my order and it didn't have a sausage in either of them so instead of making it right the manager the man that's kind of stocky and big you know who I'm talking about he literally argued with me about the way I stated my order he said I only said egg and cheese which no I am sure I said SAUSAGE. On top of that I was missing a hash brown. We were in the drive-through but luckily we parked to go inside the restroom which was super disgusting they don't obviously don't clean the restroom shit all over the toilets in each stall. Also when I went back to tell the guy about my order after he was done arguing with me he himself went to go fix my order and honestly seemed like he was tampering with the food probably rubbing the sausages on his dirty d im sure of this because the actual Cook was standing next to him watching as he was doing whatever he was doing in order to "fix" my order I know for a fact he was tampering with my food so I ended up telling him he'll let me just have my money back and he was pissed off and slam my money on the counter he's so lucky I don't want to catch another case because I literally wanna fucking punch him in his face. This is the worst Jack in the Box I have been too. I understand it is crowded due to it being a rest area, but I came here, ordered and it literally took over 35 minutes to get my order and when I asked about it they didn't even have it on the screen! It is unacceptable and to top it off I received a cold breakfast jack and some cold uncooked fries. I will stick to my regular visits to Carl's Jr. when traveling in this direction. read more

Many people didn't get their orders after 30 mins and demanded a refund. The employees didn't show up on time and the manager didn't know what she was doing. Stopped for lunch and mgr says "short staffed" it will be 15 min wait for your food. It's lunch time for workers and also travelers are on the road who stop at this restaurant. This jacks is always unprepared! Used restroom, always a dirty mess. Throw out trash when you see them full. This stop is the first before approaching the 99 or 5 fwy. This is a really good Jack In The Box.I wish they all had the quality of food that this one has.Interesting characters there on the night we went.One guy was telling his co-worker how he had been working for 20 years already before his co-worker was born and some other stuff about how this location is just a highway restaurant,which is really true since there's not much else out there. This was the most disgusting place I have ever visited, and i love Jack in the Box (guilty pleasure). They didn't have any tacos (what jack in the box doesn't have tacos!), The soda machine was broken, the bathrooms were closed, and they were out of almost everything! On top of that to make things light with the guy we ordered from, (as we were embarrassed for asking for multiple food items and him saying "nope out") my friend said "Wow its cold in here how do you stay in here with it this cold" -- his response was "Cant control the weather." The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was sub par for most Jack in Boxes that I have stopped at in the past. Driving down from Nor-Cal, I was very pissed off when the car in the lane over did not allow me to exit so I missed the exit with the McDonald's and Chevron. Luckily, I saw Jacks. Pretty much your regular good old fashioned Jack in the box. Friendly, and the workers get excited when groups of girls walk in. All the cars in the lot were pretty tight though I must ad. We went in with little to no customers. Got our food within 5 mins. I ordered the supreme croissant, but couldn't get the croissant because they ran out. I basically agree with the first reviewer: it's nice to have a quick bite after descending the long slope of highway 5. I was especially relieved after not encountering any devastating rain or wind that would have made driving the mountain dangerous. Sure, two tacos I ordered didn't taste anything spectacular, but was nice enough to fill my stomach a little for 99 cents without tax. Cheese was a nice touch, as it gave a breakfast feel. This particular Jack in the Box is especially significant for being one of the first restaurants out of the mountains, and one of the best places to get a fast burger and a quick restroom break during the same stop. It helps that this Jack in the Box is in a particularly beautiful location, just at the foot of the mountains and surrounded by silvery poplars.
