This is a VERY long and overdue review that I'm happy to post as I'm waiting to get my weekly shot…read more I have REAL issues, from being completely deaf on one side, hearing impaired on the other, severe allergies and now TMJ. I will start by letting you all know I worked in the healthcare industry so I am VERY careful in doing my research before seeing any doctors. I started with this practice in SoHo with Dr. Lopez. Dr. Smouha - Hands down one of the top and most knowledgeable otolaryngologists on the east coast. He performed 2 surgeries on me when he was at Mount Sinai. He is now part of there team at the 5th Ave location. Dr. Lopez - An ENT who is always on top of his game. He listens, asks the right questions, stays on top of the latest greatest treatments. Has truly saved me as I was continuously taking antibiotic to treat my sinus conditions. He is not only knowledgeable but super compassionate. Dr. Kopyltsova - Astoria location was HIGHLY recommended by Dr Lopez. She advised me on what she feels is the right treatment plan for my allergies. So far I'm feeling great! Crystal - nurse Astoria location what a sweetheart!!! I meet with her every week to administer my allergy shots. She really brightens up my day. She is so understanding and flexible with me about my appointments. Jeanette- reception Astoria location She basically saved me from the pain by squeezing me into a tight schedule. Forever grateful! Btw the other front desk girls are also super helpful. Most negative reviews are triggered by a horrific experience with the front desk staff. These girls are gems.

Avoid the allergy department of this practice. While their ENT doctors are excellent, the allergy…read moredepartment operates with inexcusable inefficiency. After allergy testing five weeks ago, I was promised immunotherapy would begin within three weeks. Nearly five weeks later, the practice cannot locate my serum vials or confirm if they've been manufactured. Staff have no tracking system, provide no updates unless I call, and offer no solutions. There is clearly no management oversight of inventory or patient communication. Save yourself time and frustration by seeking treatment at Allergy Express or other practices that maintain basic operational standards.

I've read many positive reviews about Dr. Shukla, and I wish I could echo those sentiments. While…read morehis staff was professional and friendly, I can't personally recommend Dr. Shukla. I visited Dr. Shukla to get a new CPAP machine, and after a sleep study, he recommended I try an oral appliance for my sleep apnea instead. He assured me that insurance would cover at least eighty percent of the cost and that I would need to pay for the device upfront. However, when my insurance only covered forty percent, Dr. Shukla claimed I was never told insurance would cover eighty percent. When I received the appliance, Dr. Shukla briefly showed me how to use it and told me to return in a month for adjustments. However, he didn't explain why an AM Aligner was included with the device. The oral appliance arrived in the most closed position, so it didn't help my sleep apnea at first. I was essentially left to figure out how to adjust it on my own. Using the included adjuster, I gradually widened the space that pushed my bottom teeth forward, and over time, the appliance became more effective. After six weeks of use, I found the appliance worked, but it didn't compare to my CPAP or travel CPAP machine. My advice would be to only consider an oral appliance if a CPAP isn't an option for you. Additionally, if you have significant dental work after purchasing the appliance, it may no longer fit properly. As for me, my appliance is now sitting in a drawer as a backup in case my CPAP breaks.
