Oxtails with red beans and rice and potato salad
    Shevon M.

So this is hard. They are trying to do well and I want nothing more than when I return for their business to be booming. We went in and I think they had only been open for two days and the AC was broken. Our server was very friendly. The drinks were really good. I had champagne with watermelon mimosa, my friend had the rum punch and was really happy with hers and her daughter had a virgin something with mango and she really liked hers as well. We all three ordered oxtails. They were good. There was a slight kick to it which I loved! I would not order the potato salad as there was nothing to it but the pasta was great!! They got super busy when it was time for us to leave so had to wait a little for that but I think they are still working out those kinks. Best of luck!

Half slab ribs with Coconut Rice and Beans. Potato Salad in the background.

We have wanted to try this place so we did. First - we sat in a booth along the wall and the AC, well, it works wonderfully. If you get chilly sitting still, be sure to bring a light jacket. Our waitress was super nice. We each ordered the half slab of ribs and the Kingston Fries with chicken. We also ordered some appetizers, the calamari and sweet corn on the cob. The calamari is a lot thicker than I am used to, but I did like the batter. The sweet corn was delicious. The ribs and the sauce were delicious! The coconut red beans and rice were also good, especially when mixed with the sauce on the ribs. The salad had an oil/vinegar dressing and was super light and refreshing. Spouse got the potato salad and it is probably some of the best potato salad I have had and I am from the South, so I know potato salad. We will will be back for sure, maybe treat our offspring next time.

HURTS ME TO LEAVE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE I LOVE CARIBBEAN FOOD...but I have to!!! Couldn't leave Review on their page because the account is not set up like a business & another business seems to have same name. 1st time I visited Jaas Kitchen in Panama City Beach, FL it took a long time to get food after ordering...but it tasted good. Most recent visit was horrible because I tried the JERK SALMON for the 1st time & ended up w/ FOOD POISONING Within an hour of eating my stomach felt uncomfortable but I thought I was just full because it tasted good...now I feel like it was heavily seasoned to mask the issues. I ended up in the fetal position trying to suppress pain in my stomach for hours, sweating, chills, unable to sleep & ALL the other symptoms of food poisoning...IYKYK!!! I even sought medical attention to confirm. I spent next day & 1/2 "flushing" out my system & praying. When I was finally able to sit up w/o pain I called store & let them know their seafood had to be bad. I can honestly say...I WILL NOT BE EATING THERE AGAIN!!! #JaasKitchen

Ackee and saltfish....this is a large?!

I'm Jamaican. I don't typically make reviews so the fact that I am now says a lot. I eat my countries food wherever I travel and I travel quite a bit. I can say that this is one of the biggest disappointments I've come across. First, and most importantly I'll talk about portion size. I ordered a large ackee and saltfish with a large porridge. It's clear that they just use a large box container while still serving the the same equivalent of ackee and saltfish that would be in small container. Both upper sides of the container should be full for a large. If not, what's the difference between a large and small? The boiled veggies? The cabbage? I don't think customers want more veggies when they order a large ackee and saltfish. For the price they are charging there should be more food simple and plain. Second and lastly I'll talk about taste and accuracy of the dish. There was VERY little saltfish. Instead, the chopped onions, green peppers and carrots were the highlights of the dish. They outnumbered the saltfish by a a lot. There was a good amount of ackee however. It would be more accurate to call this dish ackee and veggies. The onions and veggies should support the main dish not be the main dish. The taste was just ok, it for sure could've used more flavor and less oil. The boiled dumplings were ok as well, it's really hard to mess that up. The porridge was spot on and delicious. That is what bumped this review up to two stars instead on one in all honesty. The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was fine. Overall I think that they are in a tourist area and the current reviews and prices reflect that. A tourist wouldn't know the difference if this was their first experience with Jamaican food so they can get away with certain things that they wouldn't be able to get away with if you are an island native or just someone who really knows Jamaican food.

    Jerk Chicken + Plantains

Followed the owner's recommendation and got jerk chicken, ox tail, and salmon along with some plantains. The meal gave us a taste of genuine Jamaican food. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the ox tail because all of the meat on the ox tail was rendered down and there was frankly more bone than meat. However, the flavor was still amazing. The Jerk Chicken was solid as usual. The salmon tasted just like any other restaurant would usually cook salmon. The fried plantains tasted great too! Although we enjoyed the food, the price of it was very high. Our meal came down to $20+ per person, which was a lot compared to the food we got. I would definitely come back if the price was lower. TLDR: Great genuine Jamaican food, but too pricey. Ox Tail: 7/10 Jerk Chicken: 8.5/10 Salmon: 7/10

Food is great! Best Jamaican restaurant in PCB. Good smiling service. Can tell the chef cares for the food prepared, tastes and smells authentic!

Jamaican food here is awesome stuff. I had some bbq chicken was really good with red beans and rice. Very friendly I think husband and wife team didn't ask in a food trailer on side of shell gas station. Don't miss it good stuff.

Bammy and Fried Calamari Wasn't that tasty honestly the calamari was dried out and the bammy was greasy.

Omg the food is nasty and it's a teeny tiny hole in the wall place with no parking. I will never return.
