We are building a pool in our backyard, and needed a concrete contractor to pour a concrete decking all around the pool. After much deliberation and interviewing 5 different contractors, we hired Sierra's Concrete to do the concrete decking. They were the most responsive, had the best suggestions, and they had a large selection of photos of their previous work online. Their contracted work entailed: 1 - digging an 87 feet long, 6 feet deep French drain around the pool 2 - installing surface drains to collect rain water 3 - forming and pouring a roughly 1500 square feet deck according to our custom design Sierra's Concrete performed the work to perfection, ahead of schedule, and left the place cleaner than how they found it. It was a real pleasure to witness their performance. Their dedication, coordination, attention to detail and work ethic all shone during the 6 days that they spent here. I never witnessed any heated temper or frustration, the entire crew worked in perfect harmony in a relaxed but professional atmosphere. You could tell that they enjoyed working together and took great pride in their work. Cesar had excellent suggestions to improve on my design. I never had to ask him to do anything twice, and he was true to his word until the very end. His team worked relentlessly, barely ever taking breaks, moving from one task to the next without ever getting into each others' way. They left the site immaculate, even taking the time to pressure wash the driveway. They went above and beyond the call of duty at every step of the way. Our project was large, involving…read morea new paver driveway, new public sidewalk, new turf install, new concrete and paver pathways, new wooden gates and a re-install of a paver patio. The project took a long time with several interruptions due to weather and permitting with the city. For a while it seemed like the sidewalk repair might not happen, but Juan and Freddie were able to work it out with the city and the new sidewalk looks great. Our new paver driveway looks amazing and has given us way more space. The new retaining wall curves around the corner to the street, which was a detail in the design that I really wanted, and they were able to deliver. So far after a few heavy rainstorms everything seems to be draining properly. The plants and landscaping are starting to fill in and I'm hoping that the plants thrive over the summer after some pretty nasty weather the last couple months. Perhaps the best part of the project has turned out to be the backyard where we replaced the grass lawn with turf and had the paver patio re-installed. It looks really nice and the dogs love it. I love that I don't have to spend hours weeding it and worrying about foxtails in dog feet or noses. There is still one step left before completion, since we ended up having to replace our sewer pipe to the street which left a small section of the paver driveway. Overall Northview did great work on a big job with some complicated permitting requirements. They were always respectful, polite and communicative. I'll definitely contact them again for future work and would recommend Northview Landscaping to friends and neighbors.

While he was doing the work, he found problems with earthquake safety and the pad for our air conditioner, which he fixed. He worked on many projects in our yard in a two month period including the following: -new fire pit (which included demolishing old fireplace that was not built properly) -new steps into the back yard (to replace the one concrete step that was not safe) - new pavers for the front yard which replaces the driveway and the side yard (which included demolishing the driveway) - new rock wall bordering the front yard on the side and in front -new rock veneer on either side of the garage -new column mailbox -new walking path on the north side of the house with stepping stones (which included removing concrete that had been stored there) -new pad for the air conditioner on the north side -new concrete to shore up the pillars in front of the house to make the house safer for earthquakes -new redwood garden bed on the south side with mushroom compost -new pavers on the south side that match the ones in the front including a patio where we can put a table and chairs -moving the flagstone and putting it deeper into the ground while adding more flagstone in the backyard to make it safer and also more practical for us. -removing flagstone bench which we didn't like. He and his crew were very talented. They used high quality materials and their craftsmanship was top notch. They took the time to do it right and did not use shortcuts. He was an excellent communicator and willing to answer any questions we might have. He assured us that he was not finished until we were satisfied with the results. He has many years of experience in masonry and it showed. We were constantly adding on as we found new areas that needed improvement. He was flexible and willing to work with us. He worked with the suppliers to ensure that we would get the materials as soon as possible. Our house was the talk of the neighborhood as everyone came by to admire the results.
