Lorna was super helpful in helping me select the right piano to rent that fit my needs as an apartment renter with limited space. She played very beautifully as she sampled the piano I ultimately ended up renting (a Kawai Concert Artist 95), and I'm a few days in to my new piano and I'm still very happy with my choice. They have a rent-to-own program with a minimum of 6 months and the rentals are actually pretty reasonably priced. For my rental I paid first and last month's rent and a deposit plus delivery fees. I really appreciated the flexibility in making my initial payment (I was able to write a check) and Lorna was especially helpful in getting me a Saturday delivery via Encore Piano Movers. This piano has been in our family since the 1970s, so it holds a lot of sentimental value, and I was very particular about who I trusted to work on it. Mr. Han was incredibly accommodating and patient, working around our piano movers who needed extra time to assemble the piano--the piano was coming from Los Angeles County to Riverside County. Once everything was ready, he got right to work. He was knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and took the time to explain additional services beyond tuning and cleaning without any pressure. The end result was amazing--he truly brought the piano back to life. It both looks and sounds like new again. Such a great experience with Hal at Hollywood Piano. I came in with a few specific piano models in…read moremind, and they had one on the floor (a Roland LX-705) that I could try out. Beautiful sound. After chatting with Hal for a bit, he recommended I try the Roland HP-704, which is cheaper but has most of the features I was looking for in the 705. I loved it. Great action, nice speakers, sleek - I can't say enough good things about it. Hal informed me that he had a boxed unit and that it came with a bunch of freebies including headphones, a flash drive, lessons, a warranty, plus a promo price. I let him know that I had to think about it and I had to consult my son, because he'd be playing it as well. I came back with my son and he loved it (he's 4 and is very direct!). He was also able to try multiple other pianos (with supervision), and had a blast. Hal was very friendly towards him as well, which was great. We ended up buying the 704 and had it delivered and set up. Everything went smooth. The delivery people came during the agreed-upon window of time, and got the whole unit set up in about 10min. It works great and it looks great. I couldn't be happier with the purchase! There are lots of options for pianos here - grand pianos, digital upright pianos, several name brands - it's really a treat to come buy and really test out pianos before purchasing. I highly recommend checking out Hollywood Piano if you're on the market, or just curious about pianos in general.
