My pedicure was from another pregnant woman who was JUST as miserable as me. She didn't give me an option from the menu like usual. She just did the basic pedi. No hot stone, no massage, didn't work on the dry, cracked skin or calluses, etc. Charged me $55. The owner who I have worked with several times in the past tried to charge me for a gel removal on my fingers and questioned me on it. My hands haven't been touched by a manicurist in years due to my job destroying them. I was shocked that she didn't believe me. She was so sweet to me in the past. I will say however, my eyebrows were pretty uneven. When she originally handed me the mirror to look at them, I asked to get a little more taken off - and then when she gave me the mirror the second time, I'm not sure if it was because my eyebrows were red from the waxing or what, but I didn't notice a huge difference... until I got home and noticed that they were very different. So I had to end up plucking a lot myself when I got home. I know the ownership has changed hands sometime within the last year or two - and I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not. However, once Eric R. settled in Manhappiness, I needed to find someone local. I happened to sit next to the owner of Gaia Salonspa on a flight, and she convinced me to see Hannah and told me the wax is intended for people with sensitive skin. I have been a regular client of Hannah's for three years for waxing, and tried a facial with her as well. She is very professional, makes me feel comfortable, and has a lot of experience and training. When I found out a few weeks ago that she decided to start her own studio, I was excited for her (and also because it is down the street from my house). Today I visited Hannah for my first appointment at Luminous Esthetic Studio, and it was a great experience. She has a private studio within the Allure Salon, which is quaint and decorated very well.
