Lauren Vbis so sweet and does a really good job with color ! She gave me copper highlights to blend into my brown hair and she had a sweet demeanor and did a great job !!!! read more

Rachele did an amazing job fixing my hair that another stylist considered a full highlight a week prior. Rachele was professional, meticulous, personable and it took her 3 hours versus the other stylist who took 10 hours on me. And that was with no clients in between. Thank you Rachele for making me a blonde again. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Update for the Holidays: Another amazing experience with the talented Jenna and high-dimension color and depth. Wow! Worth every penny! Update: Second visit for a refresh of the Keratin Express, color touch up on roots and a few highlights. Amazing difference in my hair. When Jenna styles you, you walk out wearing art on your head!! Love this sal I was almost skeptical when I saw that many yelp elites giving the salon five stars. But I can confirm for you that J Renee's is as good as it's hype. What first drew me to the salon is that owner/operator, Jenna, came up under the search for the Baylage highlight technique. Over and over the photos provided showed true expertise as well as beautifully coiffed hair. Their website was very informative and very clear about their services and prices. I appreciate transparency on pricing, so this intrigued me further. As a new client, you're required to put a $50 deposit down to reserve your appointment. I wasn't thrown off by that, matter fact I think it's a great business idea. When I invest my time and money, you better believe I'm going to be there! She offered a Keratin Express treatment for smoothing here that was for Izzy and our wonderful Louisiana humidity, and even the wary, I went for it. It takes about two hours, she washes puts the product on your hair and dries it and straightens. You walk out with slightly stiff but beautifully shiny and straight hair. Leaving the keratin on for 24 hours without getting it wet was going to be a challenge when I planned to do landscaping that hot weekend. But I used the "curing" process as an excuse to be a couch potato. After washing it out the next day, I immediately noticed a difference in the texture of my hair. Smooth, silky, shiny and very manageable for once in it's life! I waited to write this review to see how long that lasted and if any of my hair would be damaged/falling out because of the process. I'm very pleased to report that I had no hair loss and the treatment lasted for six weeks and Then some with proper care. The salon itself is nicely appointed, conveniently located and Jenna could not be nicer or more professional. I highly recommend the salon. read more

Got eyebrows microbladed- I've wanted to do for the last 6 months, but kept talking myself out of it. Amber is amazing! So glad I did it! Was completely painless, comfy environment and worth the $$. I've been drawing my brows on for months & having fits with it all... due to hormones, I've lost half my eyebrows in the last year and it really bothered me. I usually don't spend money on things like this, but would recommend to anyone debating- read more

I am new to the area and recently got an 'ok' color and not great haircut. I HAD to get it fixed. I did some research and decided to try Shaina. She did an AMAZING job on my haircut. I just booked another appointment to have her do color. We move every couple of years and finding a stylist is super stressful. I am so glad I found Shaina. Oh, and today, as I was walking through a store, I had a lady come up and ask if she could take pictures of my hair and have the name of my stylist. I am a happy client! read more

Ask for Shaina!! You can book on the website if you're shy. She's kicks and talented as hell so you'll feel comfortable in no time either way. I've never gotten color from her but she is awesome with the shears!! I come in asking for drastic cuts occasionally over the years and she's more than happy to oblige. She chopped off my mop today and shaved the sides for me and as usual it looks fabulous. read more

Hannah is the best! My 13 year old daughter put "sun in" in her hair and it turned her beautiful dirty blonde into an awful orange. Hannah patiently helped talk through with my daughter what she could do to fix it. She brought it back to a natural color and my daughter went from almost tears to pure delight. So I asked Hannah to start to cut my hair, and trim my beard... she does a great job fading it in just how I like it, ensuring it's exactly how I like it. I'm pretty obnoxious about how I like my beard and she works with me to be sure I always leave happy. She also cuts my sons hair, who is 10, and couldn't care less about what his head looks like, but she cuts it so it's nice and easy to deal with, and he's happy. Highly recommended! read more

I wanted to give kuddos to Aaron at J. Renee Color Studio. He does fabulous work and is very friendly and gives you a warm welcome when you come in. It was a great experience and he has been the only stylist that has done my hair the way I wanted it. If you looking for a new hair stylist I would recommend that you see him. read more

I wouldn't get my hair done anywhere else! Cullyn always does a perfect color and cut for me!

Abby does my hair and I would highly recommend her! She does a great job with color and cut

I discovered Hannah here for a men's cut after getting frustrated with SportClips in Covington. I'm glad I found her! She's fun, friendly and listens well to my needs/requests. I've had a few haircuts with her over this summer and I will be back. It's a nice environment in this salon too. read more

. Shaina B. has wonderful skills. I just moved to the Northshore and am delighted to find her and the salon. The atmosphere is elegant but not at all intimidating. After a little discussion, she colored and cut my hair just the way I wanted it. She's personable and professional, and we were easily able to agree on updating my cut and color. There wasn't a long wait at all. Prices are consistent with other salons I've used. I highly recommend J Renée and Shaina. read more

J. Renee Color Studio - My new color by Shaina! I found her on Instagram through a friend and immediately booked my appointment! - Hair Stylists Near Me - Covington, Louisiana

Worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I asked for an ashy and natural balayage and left with a red brown root and bleach blonde ends. (Keep in mind my hair was previously balayage and just needed and nice touch up.)I paid $250+ for my hair to look nothing even close to what I had asked for. When I brought this to the attention of my stylist, she told me that next time I needed to specify more. I showed multiple photos and colors of the tones and the style I wanted. I ended up leaving in hopes I'd grow to love my new hair but it is truly awful. I emailed the owner of the salon to inform her how unhappy I am and I was informed that "color is a journey" and it "takes time to find the right color." The amount of money I spent and being a new client you would think that the stylist or the owner would care enough to fix the mistake. I have sent more emails but of course no response... and when I call she is busy. I am highly disappointed as this is the number one rated salon in my area and the photos they post of the results are beautiful yet I have an issue with my service and it will not be fixed. $250+ for absolutely nothing. read more

Came in about a month ago for a haircut and highlights with Jenna, the very lovely owner of this establishment. I felt immediately at ease when I walked in and loved how relaxing the environment was. Jenna gave me some beautiful layers and lovely balayage-esque highlights, both of which are holding up nicely. I highly recommend coming here whether you're new to the area and looking for a hair haven or if you've always lived here and you're just looking for something new. read more
