Update: Second visit for a refresh of the Keratin Express, color touch up on roots and a few highlights. Amazing difference in my hair. When Jenna styles you, you walk out wearing art on your head!! Love this sal I was almost skeptical when I saw that many yelp elites giving the salon five stars. But I can confirm for you that J Renee's is as good as it's hype. What first drew me to the salon is that owner/operator, Jenna, came up under the search for the Baylage highlight technique. Over and over the photos provided showed true expertise as well as beautifully coiffed hair. Their website was very informative and very clear about their services and prices. I appreciate transparency on pricing, so this intrigued me further. As a new client, you're required to put a $50 deposit down to reserve your appointment. I wasn't thrown off by that, matter fact I think it's a great business idea. When I invest my time and money,you better believe I'm going to be there! She offered a Keratin Express treatment for smoothing here that was for Izzy and our wonderful Louisiana humidity, and even the wary, I went for it. It takes about two hours, she washes puts the product on your hair and dries it and straightens. You walk out with slightly stiff but beautifully shiny and straight hair. Leaving the keratin on for 24 hours without getting it wet was going to be a challenge when I planned to do landscaping that hot weekend. But I used the "curing" process as an excuse to be a couch potato. After washing it out the next day, I immediately noticed a difference in the texture of my hair. Smooth, silky, shiny and very manageable for once in it's life! I waited to write this review to see how long that lasted and if any of my hair would be damaged/falling out because of the process. I'm very pleased to report that I had no hair loss and the treatment lasted for six weeks and Then some with proper care. The salon itself is nicely appointed, conveniently located and Jenna could not be nicer or more professional. I highly recommend the salon. read more

I am new to the area and recently got an 'ok' color and not great haircut. I HAD to get it fixed. I did some research and decided to try Shaina. She did an AMAZING job on my haircut. I just booked another appointment to have her do color. We move every couple of years and finding a stylist is super stressful. I am so glad I found Shaina. Hannah is the best! My 13 year old daughter put "sun in" in her hair and it turned her beautiful dirty blonde into an awful orange. Hannah patiently helped talk through with my daughter what she could do to fix it. She brought it back to a natural color and my daughter went from almost tears to pure delight. So I asked Hannah to start to cut my hair, and trim my beard... she does a great job fading it in just how I like it, ensuring it's exactly how I like it. I'm pretty obnoxious about how I like my beard and she works with me to be sure I always leave happy. She also cuts my sons hair, who is 10, and couldn't care less about what his head looks like, but she cuts it so it's nice and easy to deal with, and he's happy. Highly recommended! read more

Worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I asked for an ashy and natural balayage and left with a red brown root and bleach blonde ends. (Keep in mind my hair was previously balayage and just needed and nice touch up.)I paid $250+ for my hair to look nothing even close to what I had asked for. When I brought this to the attention of my stylist, she told me that next time I needed to specify more. I showed multiple photos and colors of the tones and the style I wanted. I ended up leaving in hopes I'd grow to love my new hair but it is truly awful. I emailed the owner of the salon to inform her how unhappy I am and I was informed that "color is a journey" and it "takes time to find the right color." The amount of money I spent and being a new client you would think that the stylist or the owner would care enough to fix the mistake. I have sent more emails but of course no response... and when I call she is busy. I am highly disappointed as this is the number one rated salon in my area and the photos they post of the results are beautiful yet I have an issue with my service and it will not be fixed. $250+ for absolutely nothing. read more
