All of the roofing companies were quite busy due to recent storm damage. Some didn't return calls, and we even had a couple no-show on scheduled estimates. Matt K, in contrast, was extremely responsive and reliable. We left a message on a weekend, and he called back that same weekend, and scheduled a time for an estimate within a few days. He came for the estimate at the appointed time, and promptly emailed us a detailed, thorough, and competitive bid. He then answered all of our questions thoroughly and knowledgeably about the proposed work and process. Matt was easy to talk with, explained about roofing in terms that we could readily understand, did not up-sell, and provided honest evaluations and recommendations from his decades of roofing experience. Shortly after that, while we were still evaluating our options, we had a leak concern. In response, Matt was able to juggle schedules to fit our replacement in quickly. His crew (led by Brendan), was efficient and careful, and were able to complete the tear-off and replacement in a day, even though winds reached up to 20 mph some of the time. They also left our property neat and tidy. Someone who saw them work told me that he would without reservation "heavily suggest using them again!!!" (His three exclamation marks, not mine). As a bonus, Matt also has a good eye for color. We went with his color recommendation, and really finds that it looks nice against the colors we have. We have a large family and, in planning for the future, really needed to convert this area into living space that would be usable for years to come. We reached out to Legacy Homes and they came immediately to give us a quote for the work. The quote was reasonable when compared to other quotes we received from other contractors and they were able to begin immediately with the renovation. There were some real challenges that came with this project as a result of the water level in our surrounding ground and the way the sewer lines were connected to the city sewer but they met each challenge with solutions that were practical and affordable. The project was completed in less than 4 months. We are extremely happy with the renovation! Legacy was committed to giving us the best outcome and was there during the entire remodel to ensure the work was done to meet code and at a quality that made our basement just what we needed and had hoped for. What happened? At first he told me "I forgot". Not very professional. I asked him to come out and do it. He said he would. Then he called back about 10 minutes later saying he didn't realize how far away I was and decided not to do it after he said no problem. I asked him to send back the check. So, with no notice, he left us hi and dry to shovel ourselves. My wife and I are in our 70's We are not as strong as we once were and need help. But Andy Olson, who I assume is AOK, just decided he didn't want to do it, AFTER the snow fall. AND - I still haven't gotten the check back. It's nice somebody had a good experience with them. We sure didn't.

My biggest compliment is in the clean up. I have dealt with similar situations in the past and these guys are by far the best at making sure they don't leave anything behind. After the regular crew cleans up and they did outstanding. A second couple comes through with a fine tooth comb and goes through the grass, sidewalks, street and driveway to ensure there is not any trace of their presence left. We happened to be out of town for Memorial Day weekend and needed to complete this quickly. We started calling roofers and were only getting voice mails. Tom not only answered the phone on a holiday weekend, he made accommodations to take a look at the roof that day knowing out predicament.
