I came to him because another Dentist from Bliss hurt me really bad and Doctor Gilbert is very gentle and new exactly what to do to make me feel better . I was so afraid because I was hurting so bad And was so afraid to be touched by any other Dr not knowlong what to expect . Dr Gilbert made sure to explain what he was going to do and was so patient and careful with me . Thank you so much and God Bless you always. He gave me the right medication plus showed me the respect I needed . i was able to sleep after not being able to sleep for nearly two weeks because of the other doctor. Dr Gilbert is not one of the best , he's the best . Thank you so much

This practice is a complete nightmare! Worst experience I have ever had! What a crude, insensitive,…read moreincompetent staff! The doctor was the worst of them all! I asked a simple question about having x-rays from the dentist that referred me sent over and Doctor Gilbert (an incredibly rude, high tempered old man) came into my room screaming at me over the fact that they do not use computers in his office and I should of known that. First of all, in this day in age, especially in the medical field, who the hell does not have some sort of computer set up? So he charged me to have x-rays retaken because he refuses to use technology as simple as computers to exchange important patient information from the doctors who referred their patients to his establishment. He became red in the face over my simple x-ray question, tried to throw me out of my appointment and told me he didnt have time to answer my stupid questions, so do I want the procedure or not because he wasn't going to talk to me anymore. He grabbed my wrist and put a needle in my hand without telling me what he was doing, hooked me up to an IV and started pumping me with anesthesia without saying a word. Then said you will start getting really dizzy in about 15 seconds and left the room! With the nurses! Not only did he give me no heads up whatsoever that I was about to be put to sleep but after injecting me, he left me completely unsupervised! I want to sue! You cannot treat your patients this way! It is absolutely absurd. This man has absolutely NO bed side manner. The office itself is a joke, incompetent staff, no parking where you wont get towed, and on top of that no air conditioning. If you need oral surgery, simple or complex: please please PLEASE do not even consider this ridiculously inadequate establishment. The gruff mannerism of the entire staff is almost as shocking as the how horrifyingly impatient, insincere and downright mean the doctor is towards his patients. I will NEVER go back and I feel so sorry for anyone who makes the mistake of working with this horrible man and his joke of a practice. I have never felt so disrespected or uncomfortable at a doctors office. Gina

I liked Dr. Merrell, however his staff left a lot to be desired as far as taking responsibility on…read morean error they made on our dental insurance we used when Dr. Merrell pulled some back teeth on our then 17 year old. Before the surgery his staff said they had checked with our insurance to see if our insurance would pay for anesthesia and told us the insurance would cover it. Well, after the surgery we received a bill from Dr. Merrell charging us for 100% of the anesthesia. I called the insurance company and they told me Dr. Merrell's office had called for pre-approval for the surgery. The insurance company stated they approved the surgery, but did not approve the anesthesia. The insurance read back the notes they discussed with Dr. Merrells office and the notes clearly stated the anesthesia would not be covered. I can't remember why it wouldn't be covered, only that it wasn't covered. Dr. Merrells office apologized for the miscommunication, but ...oops, the patient still has to pay the bill. We also found out after the surgery, the doctor could have used a local and our daughter would not have had to be put under with the anesthesia. The anesthesia bill was around $600.00 if I remember corectly. We paid the bill because we didn't want it to go to a collection agency, but his office made the mistake and refused to do anything about it. They would not even reduce the amount of the bill. Lesson learned here, don't depend upon any doctors office to find out the pre-approval information, what insurance will and will not cover. Make the phone calls yourself. Then you have only yourself or the insurance company to blame for any errors. Because of how Dr. Merrells office handled this "error", if I know anyone who needs dental surgery, I tell them "Don't go to Merrell". He was a nice capable dentist/oral surgeon, but his staff left a lot to be desired in dealing with working with the patient for a costly error made by a member of his staff.
