I was an occasional customer of this store, and didn't think much of it or their products. However, after my experience with the manager last night, I'm NEVER stepping foot in this store ever again!
I've been unemployed for almost a year now as I've been struggling to find a new job since I got fired from my old one. I was going to apply here because I thought it was okay place to shop at and figured "What the hell. I'll try it." When I asked for an application, the employees tell me that I'm forced to fill it out there, and when I asked why they insist that, they give the standard song and dance about how "Its just our policy" (which is vague response more than an actual answer). I can tell they (especially this one employee I was talking with) are conformist sheep, because if they actually thought about how that policy makes no sense (which I'll explain in the next sentence), instead of just doing as they're told, they wouldn't work there because they'd see just how stupid it really is. So when I politely asked the male manager about the reason for that policy, he told me "We have to make sure you're the one filling it out." Obviously if I ask for an application, I'm going to fill it out myself anyway, and if I do decide to pick up one for someone else, that's my choice, especially since it'd be helping the business out if both of us get hired there (but that thought doesn't exist in his mind). When I politely clarified my question by asking "As long as I bring the application back, why does matter where I fill it out?", he decided to give me an attitude by saying "I'm not going hire you now, because you're asking for special privileges! As far as you're concerned, this conversation's over with now!" I shook my head, muttered "What an asshole!" under my breath, and immediately walked out of there. I was NOT asking for "special privileges", nor was I implying that! He just took it that way and put words in my mouth! Granted it was almost closing time, he was a little busy (because he came out of the back room with boxes in his hands and had to set them down in order to talk to me), and he was at least 50-something years old (so he was probably cranky because he had a long day). HOWEVER, that still doesn't give him the right to rudely give me an attitude just because I asked him a question!
Now that I know what kind of person he is, I'm not shopping there ever again, because it'd be less money for him then. Thankfully, after reading other negative comments about this place, I'm glad I'm not the only person who's had problems with the staff who work there. Because other people (who haven't shopped there) are now reading these comments, it's hopefully making them not want to shop there in the future, because NO ONE wants to deal with shitty customer service or rude staff. If they do end up choosing not to shop there, its adding more insult to injury to the store, and really says a lot about the staff there. I imagine the managers either don't read these comments (because they don't give a shit if people think badly of them), or do read them but always point the finger at the other person. If they did care about what people think of them and their store, they would do whatever they can to improve both, but as long as they're getting paid, they won't give a shit. I'm hoping that as more people continue to turn away from this store, it will inevitably make either most of the employees quit and make the store more difficult to maintain (and I'm sure they have on top of the issues they most-likely have with the managers), make the managers want to retire and hire new and better ones to replace them, or force the store into bankruptcy. I welcome whatever situation comes first. read more
