I mentioned something about the ICE building down the street I was just saying that it was in a nice area. But for some reason this worker named Mike W. Was an ass to me. I was as polite as I always am. He called the police on me saying I was threatening to harm ICE. I would never say anything like that. The nerve of him to use my contact information off the receipt to give to the police department. They called me in which I told them I have know problems with the ICE agents. I live relatively close to this location so I ventured in. I hadn't the slightest idea where to even start. I spent about 5-10mins just looking at mannequins STILL not knowing what I was looking for. Then I heard the quiet voice of Elijah from behind a rack or something ask "do you need help with anything?" If not for this intervention I think I would still be there! I told him my situation and as a younger gentleman who was sharply dressed himself I trusted in his sense of style. I told him straight out "I'm in your hands!" His recommendations were very simple, he guessed my jacket size just by looking at me and once we found a quick fit I liked he explained the fit options to me. Things I would never have thought of like would I prefer my shirt sleeves to show a bit at the end of my jacket sleeve? That was a "no" for me but it was nice to know I was informed of these things. He measured me up for my shirt, we picked one out together that I'm very happy with. I also purchased a pair of shoes and it was just nice to hear his opinions on a few pairs he actually owned himself. It steered me in the right direction and I didn't feel like I was walking out of there with a carbon copy of my 'ol man's suit. I was confident I'd be comfortable, that I'd look good, and let's face it, most importantly that everyone at the wedding wasn't talking about "the guy in the embarrassing suit"! Thank you Elijah for your help pal, you made what I thought was going to be a 3hr painful process into something that I enjoyed doing. It's great to see that there are young men around that are able to read a person, carry a conversation, and crack a smile while providing more than a "I'm not sure about that, sorry" when asked for help. I would highly recommend going in and seeing him or even one of the other sales ppl who I also saw assisting customers if you're in need of a suit and a little guidance. Place is great.

It's not something he'd wear more than once, is it? The nice associate at Nordstrom told us about Via Roma that recently opened and he thought they might have tuxedos too. So off we went. First impression: oh boy. Sales associate at the counter was watching some video on his cellphone with the volume on really loud. Now that's what I call professionalism at its best! He soon realized we were 5 feet away from him looking at tuxedos. He came over and said, "Hey guys. If you buy 2 tuxedos, you get the second one free!" So I said, "We only need to buy one, can we have it at half price then?" He said, "Nah. That doesn't work that way." The price tag was $299. He looked at my husband and handed him a tuxedo jacket to try on. My husband put it on. I said, "Baby....why do you STILL have your sweater on? Take it off please." Sales associate then said to my husband, "Oh no...he looks alright. The jacket looks good on you. Keep the sweater on, man." ??? What the F@$#! So my husband said, "Nope. I gotta listen to my woman. She knows what's best for me." So he took his sweater off, and guess what folks? You guessed it! My husband was practically swimming in that tuxedo jacket! Same sales associate handed him a smaller size and this time it was just the right fit. But my husband and I exchanged this look & we just weren't feeling it with this particular associate. So I told him we wanted to check out other stores in the mall to see other options. So get this, are you ready for this one? He blurted out, "I'll give it to you for $159!" Have we been transported to Canal Street just then? So I couldn't help it and with a smirk on my face, I said, "Wait what? Five minutes ago you wouldn't give it to us for half the price, but NOW you can? Really? I don't get it. Umm....we're still going to check out Macy's and Lord & Taylor first. So we might come back later." Shaking our heads, we left. Buh bye. Despite the experience we had with this associate, I am still going to give them a 3-star, which is A-ok. There were 2 associates working that night and we might've just gotten a bad apple. This place seems alright for young men to shop, especially for prom season. They do have plenty of suits and tuxedos if you don't want to spend too much money. Remember, you need to make a great first impression during that job interview. So buy yourself a suit! They were running a sale on ladies clothing so I took advantage of the good prices they were offering and got a couple of summer tops. There were plenty of sales clerks walking the floor making sure customers were doing okay and finding what they were looking for. Plenty of registers were open as well so I had no trouble finding a cashier when I wanted to pay for my items. I stopped by the Estee Lauder counter to look around and the saleslady who was running the counter gave me some good recommendations on a new lipstick to try. Next time I am in the mall I will be sure to come back and do some more shopping at this Macy's store.
