I've done my very best to support small businesses through the COVID pandemic, LABOR pandemic and OUTRAGEOUSLY RISING COSTS pandemic... but I've had enough. When it gets to the point I'm purchasing 30 baby chick-sized wings that would probably equal only 6 regular sized wings in volume for $30+, my support has officially come to an end. We are ALL going through it from every direction in every way and what I received on my last visit is simply unacceptable. The staff told me they can only cook what their supplier brings them, but I've had larger wings from places in the same area, so maybe they should get a new supplier. Even the Publix grocery store directly behind them has larger (or should I say regular sized) wing sections. In any case, I am so very tired of feeling as if I'm being taken advantage of as I try to do what I can for any business, small or large. Great spot that is practicing good Covid-19 guidelines. We come to J Buffalos a couple times a month when we have a wing craving. They cook the wings (and fish) so well. The best thing we do is call ahead. They may not always pick up on the first couple of tries (busy signal), but keep trying because you will eventually get through. Most patrons wear masks, but not all do (so protect yourself). The restaurant workers wear masks and sanitize after handling cash. The also have signs posted on the drink machines limiting refills (as a Covid 19 precaution). I was in the neck of the woods near this establishment and I thought I would give them a try. As it is hard to write a review on places when you can't dine in, I'll do the best that I can do as it pertains a takeout order. I've been here probably 3 times so far. Every time I've gone, my wings were always up to par and on time. When they tell you 5 minutes, they mean 5 minutes for your order to be completed. I was impressed by that. What I wasn't so impressed about is that this place will not let you get any refills on anything and I was told it was because of COVID. It still doesn't make any sense to me as I think more of this location not being like the rest and want to budget themselves on drinks. They will not give you a cup while you wait or will tell you upfront no refills IF they do decide to give you a cup while you wait. That's not cool. This place is only average. Nothing was bad but nothing makes we want to travel out of my way for something off their menu. The fries are a large portion but boring. Boring only because they do not add salt - which is a good thing. They have a condiment section so you can add your own salt, pepper, seasonings, etc. I wish more restaurants did it this way. The gyro was good but it does not come with feta cheese. Their fried tilapia is enjoyable. Their men's restroom is very grimy. I give it a '3' but my wife thinks it deserves a '4' and I'm feeling generous today. Update: I'm going to demote it to a '3'. Don't do business here. I placed an order online -- very simple wings order -- combo with lemon pepper and mild buffalo and an order of sweet potato fries. When I got there they asked my name and checked the order and said it was correct. I saw the sweet potato fries in the bag so thought I was good to go. When I got home, the order was not correct -- 1 flavor of wings, an order of sweet potato fries and an order of regular fries. So even before getting out of the car I called and explained the situation. I spent the next 5 minutes arguing with them. They said they needed me to bring the food up there so they could see and I told them I would be glad to bring the food back to them, but that I wanted them to go ahead and start preparing my order so I did not have to wait for the order. Even once they put the manager on the line, it was still aruging back and forth. She told me that I would have to deal directly with the online ordering app since they made the order according to the order that was place online. I had a copy of the online order and it was what I ordered. They kept arguing and refused to fix the mistake so I hung up. A few minutes later I got a text indicating the online order had been cancelled, hence a refund. I was thinking OK they realized there was a mistake somewhere. But not even a minute later, another text UNCANCELLING the cancellation order came through. So tacky. Obviously meeting customer expectations is not a priority. read more

This has to be one of my favorite chicken spots for lemon pepper chicken dry. I've tried a few since moving from NJ. However, since I'm on a wellness journey seeking to find and make better food choices, I don't frequent as often. I like that the chicken at this establishment has ALWAYS fresh and hot each time I ordered from here. Not ridiculously big like some other chicken spots I've patronized which gross me out. Food is great. The female cashiers customer service skills need work. There was a younger guy as the cashier prior to her, not too long ago and I never had an issue, he was great. So, I placed an order over the phone and the female cashier immediately hung up. She never confirmed my order or my name. I called back and she said "I got it". I then arrived 20 minutes later and find that my order is wrong and I still had to wait 5 more minutes for the wrong order to be completed. After confirming the correct order with the cashier, I had to wait another 15 minutes and the food preparers forgot my french fries. I then had to wait 5 minutes and finally received everything that I had ordered. The two stars are for prior experiences, but the female cashier needs work on her customer service skills. read more

Delicious. I got the Philly, wings and fries. The Philly cheese steak was pretty good. They didn't give a lot of meat but it wasn't too little of meat either. It was the right balance. A lot of places will be slick and give you lots of topping and mayo and not a lot of meat. The medium sauce had a little heat but not overwhelming, which was perfect. This place is hard to rate on the star system. It is very inconsistent. There are times I would give it all 5 stars and then times where 2 is more appropriate. Sometimes their Philly Cheesesteaks are the absolute bomb and sometimes they are almost tasteless. Same with the wings....great at times and not good at other times. They do have great fried rice. On a good night, their fried rice is better than anybody's, including any $40 a plate Japanese Hibachi type place. One thing that really irritates me is that these people are so stingy with their cups if you order water to drink. They give you an extra small, child's cup that you have to refill like 15 times if you get the hot wings. In fact, on one of my trips here there was a lady who ordered $115 takeout order for a party she was having. She did not order drinks, it was all food. Two things I noticed: A)She was by herself and nobody on the staff lifted a finger helping here get the huge trays of wings and boxes of sandwiches and sides to her car. B)She asked for a cup to get a to go water. They gave her one of the kiddie, shot glass sized cups. She asked for a large one instead and they would not give it to her. She said " So I am spending over $100 here and you cant even give me a large to go cup". They still did not give it to her. I thought this was one of the most pathetic displays of customer service I have ever seen. However, I will say that when the owner lady is there the service is much better. The only thing I have ever had that was absolutely terrible were their chicken fingers. Whatever you do, stay away from those. That is, unless you like nothing but HUGELY EXCESSIVE breading that tastes terrible. Another problem with this place is that when they are busy, they have been known to never put my order in to the cook. This has happened 3 times. If you go and they are really busy, I would ask them to check on your order if you don't have it within 10 minutes. Chances are it never got put in. So for me, this is a mixed bag for sure. Sometimes I love this place and sometimes I wonder why I even came here to eat. It is definitely worth a try. At the end of the day it is the great days that keep me coming back. Let me tell y'all this, as someone who really cannot handle too much spiciness: finding flavorful "mild" buffalo wings can be like looking for a needle in a haystack sometimes. Well, here's your needle. I've eaten here many times since they opened, and I've been satisfied just about every time. I didn't like their wings at first--mild was too spicy (yep, I'm a wimp, don't be a hater)--but they've adjusted it and it's now flavorful without being too real. You can get them with a side of crinkle-cut fries--they're good, but nothing to write home about--or, to change the game up a bit, your other choice of a side is fried rice. I'm a sucker for fried rice anyway, and theirs is really good, so that's what I always get. (Though I will say that eating messy finger food with a side of fork-food requires a lot of napkins for the back-and-forth!) You can also order the fried rice as an entree, or lo mein, for that matter. The chicken lo mein is kinda bland, but the beef one is good (I ask for no bell peppers in mine). My boyfriend has also had their Philly cheesesteaks and gyros and tells me that they're good. You can also get chicken tenders (with or without buffalo sauce). There's other stuff on the menu as well--fried fish, salad, a burger--that I haven't tried yet. It's a diverse menu, to say the least. I usually order my food to go and take it home; there are few tables, and they're usually well-populated. Be sure to listen carefully for them to call your name when your order is ready--when they take your order, they'll transliterate your name into Korean, so sometimes the pronunciation might not be what you're expecting. For me, this is a good, simple place to get wings via take-out, and for the most part it's reliably good. It's a bummer that they're not open on Sundays (um, football?). read more

The fish wasn't seasoned but I had already managed my expectation when I ordered it. The fried rice had no flavor but was doable. I did not get any wings but I got the whole meal including a soda for $9. But, both the fountain drinks I tried taste flat.
